Great book, very insightful and thought-provoking. Only gave it 4 out of 5 starts because I felt it ended to fast, I would have loved more content to mull over and learn from.
The person on whom the book is based is called the father of political science. His lessons are outdated and often depend on lack of information though.
However, some parts like retaining your composure, not being affected by others are gems. Some others people would see through you completely so not sure how effective they'd be. I'd read more about him. This was a good introduction.
Machiavelli's work is not solely a political tractate but also a treaty on evolutionary psychology. Don’t expect a deep read. This book is a breath reading reminder of practically applicable principles of timeless nature, at least for the time being, before we (if) we make the next evolutionary step.
This was an excellent read, highlighting the cut throat world of the 80’s and 90’s. I am hopeful following this for all the masses that may be conquered, via antiquated means.
Everyone has a different view of Machiavelli ; both positive and negative. But this book is about the Machiavellian ideas which can be implemented in today’s world and I found it really interesting. Shaw explains it really well in simple language with some great example. Great read for me !
Not an analysis but a simple what each chapter could mean, waste of money, but the original if you can't figure out the meaning yourself, it's not for you
An obvious reading that justifies selfish ruthlessness. Might be the right reading of the Prince but this interpretation is useless, just read the source by yourself
A glimpse into a manipulative sociopathic mindset. Haven’t read The Prince when I give this review, so I look at it as a ‘self-help book’ for sociopaths. (Which stood up from all other books that encourage kindness, interesting.)
It is worth the read and the knowledge you aquire afterwards is worth it. I have heard many things about Machiavelli but I never took the time read about who he really is this book was a perfect start for me.
The book describes how leaders must not rely on luck, Machiavelli wrote, but should shape their own fortune, through charisma, cunning and force. Though, I found his principles and tactics completely wrong, it's an interesting read!
The book wasn’t bad or exceptionally good. There were a few grammatically incorrect sentences that at times took away from the point the author was trying to make.
Overall very good and concise. Well written but I think the author did too good a job boiling it down, I would have preferred more examples and applications.
Not at all what I was expecting. For one thing, I was expecting the book to be significantly longer. Also, the prose was an absolute joke. It’s as if it wasn’t even edited at all. There were occasional bits of useful information but hardly enough to justify my reading this book.
The fundamental foundation of the philosophies and psychology of 'The Prince' in laments terms. Which is 💁🏽♂️... Be a secretive ridiculously ruthless jerk, manipulate and use whoever can advance your goals, murder anyone who gets in the way and dont beat yourself up about it 🤷🏽♂️... 😂😂.. "Its better to be feared than loved"..

This book taught me how to stay active in terms of independence. It's sort of like the factor that goes into play when you want become stoic and allow yourself to have slack when it comes to anger, socialisation, and other facets of life. It's just a good book to remind you that you can be yourself in a strong manner.
