Unfortunately, I was a little lost through Seized by Seduction. After reading the book and really enjoying the ending, I went back to check and saw that this was the third book in The Protectors Series. Even though this is a stand-alone book, I seriously feel that, in order to keep up with all the characters and what they mean to each other, you have to read Forged In Desire.

I was a little confused throughout the story. Quasar and Randi are the major characters in the book but there are a lot of supporting characters and it took a while for me to sort through them all and remember who belonged to who … who was chasing who … who hated who … and who was killing or trying to kill who. I am taking full responsibility for this for not reading the other book in the series and taking this on as a stand-alone.

Together, Quasar and Randi were an interesting couple. He totally believed in her Psychic abilities and understood that not everyone did and that the sceptics would outweigh the believers. Randi was grateful that he didn’t scoff at her abilities, understood them and would stand by her as the visions came to her. What Quasar didn’t understand was the unbelievable attraction he felt for Randi and why he could not get her off his mind. Randi understood that part since she was told, through a vision, just what he would mean to her. But, both of them have a lot to work through. He has the family from hell and she has a demented man trying to kill her. They each have to recognize and earn the love of the other if they are going to have a happily-ever-after.

Through gang wars, serial killers, power-hungry men, jealous women, they stand by each other and give support when it’s needed. Until Quasar realizes just what is happening between them and runs, leaving her to face her biggest enemy yet. Now, he has to face the truth, face his phobia and save the woman he loves.

As I said, I think if I understood the relationships that were so elegantly talked about in this story, I would have enjoyed it more. There was a lot of intrigue and a lot of kissing. It took a while for Quasar and Randi to give into their urges. I don’t expect anything less than an exciting read from Brenda Jackson and I did get that from Seized by Seduction. I was a little disappointed with some of the repetitiveness in the story but, overall, it was an interesting story, jam-packed with action and love.

After reading the first book I was on the fence reading this one. I liked Quasar and Randi but everything regarding their relationship happened way too fast. It seems like the common trend with this author. All the couples fall head over heels in love in record time. I prefer a slower burn so this way I can feel the connection. I wish we had more character development. You can only read how much the male lead wants to have sex with the female lead so many times. Quasar has a strained relationship with his father and brother. When I found out the reason why I rolled my eyes. We have Randi who is psychic and she helps the cops solve crimes. I did like this aspect of the story but I felt we didn't get much pertaining to her and her crime solving ability. Randi’s main concern was how she was going to convince Quasar they were meant to be together. We do briefly catch up with the couple from the first book but it wasn't enough for me to care. The story started off pretty good but in the middle it started falling apart for me and the ending seemed rush. I really wanted to enjoy this story just sadly it didn't work out in my favor again.

Title: Seized By Seduction
Author: Brenda Jackson
Genre: Crime, Suspense
Rating: 3.5/5

The blurb alone had me excited to read this and it didn't disappoint I was pulled in straight from the start. Jackson's style of writing to me was like a comfortable pair of slippers it made me just want to sit back and relax which I did whilst reading the book in one sitting.

There was danger and violence with a healthy dose of sexual chemistry, a good storyline with equally good characters that were easy to connect with and that made Seized By Seduction an all round winner it was an intriguing and captivating read.

Seized by Seduction is a beautifully crafted tale, filled with breathtaking imagery of each scene as the story unfolds. From the moments with family and friends to the growing attraction between the protagonists, to the crime scenes and moments of threat and danger each setting is described in such detail it is easy to picture them in your mind and you get a feeling like you are right there with the characters.
The main focus of the story is the developing relationship between Quasar Patterson and Dr. Randi Fuller. The budding relation is filled with smooth, sensual attraction, such heated passion, flowing of the pages like lava, overtaking all the thoughts of the characters. The love scenes are plentiful, long, and detailed, yet beautifully written with class and style.
There is something timeless about them, Randi and Quasar. They are mature, smart, sophisticated, and educated. They are kind, considerate people. They both have wounded hearts, yet the things Quasar has gone through could have broken his soul as well. My heart ached for him, yet there is redemption, there is healing, there is learning and maturing. The character development with him is drawn with a clear pen, the demons he has to face to be able to move on nearly taking over his mind, heart, and soul once again.
This is a second book in the series, yet there is a multitude of side references to the people who are part of the ensemble. I'm still not sure why did I need all that information about Randi's family (or if this is a spin-off series and they were previous characters that were being updated). I felt it was a bit distracting at times.
But regardless, the story is enticing, alluring, and filled with desire. The touches of danger and menace bring even more spice to the tale, the destiny of the protagonist staying precarious through the story without filling it with angst and despair. A well developed and entertaining, cultivated story

One look across a crime scene changes everything for Quasar and Randi. I loved this chemistry between them pulling them together. I really loved that Brenda created such a strong woman in Randi. Not only with her special powers, but she is brave and sassy and smart. LOVE that she is such a match for Quasar. He isn't looking for something more than just a physical connection, but he can't deny that there is more for them. He resists or tries to anyway. They are sizzling hot together. I loved that he is all alpha protect his woman even if he can't figure out why. I so enjoyed their story.

I give Seized By Seduction 4 hearts!

Very good book with an excellent blend of romance and suspense. Quasar is one of the ex-con bodyguards introduced in the first book, Forged in Desire. Randi is a psychic investigator who also had a big part in the conclusion of that book. She and Quasar had seen each other during that part of the book, with a definite surge of attraction and connection bursting forth. That shared look consumed them both until they were finally able to meet a few months later. By this time, Randi's psychic gift has told her that Quasar is going to be someone very important to her life, but that they will both have to work at earning a future together. She also has to be patient and wait for him to make the first move. I loved the scene when he took that first step.

Both Quasar and Randi have events in their pasts that make them wary of relationships. Randi's difficulty is that her psychic abilities either freak out the men she dates, or they want something from her. This makes her cautious about trusting a man with her heart. Quasar was wounded deeply by the actions of the woman he loved. When he went to prison for something his brother did, his girl promised to wait for him, then turned around and married his brother. Quasar has sworn never to give his heart to another woman. Neither can deny the attraction that burns hot between them. Quasar is determined to get Randi into his bed, while she is looking further into the future.

Their relationship starts with that first day that they spend together, getting to know each other. One of the things that I liked best about Quasar is that he accepts and believes in Randi's abilities without question. This is a big step in her willingness to trust him. Just as they make plans to see each other again, she is called to Los Angeles to help in solving a case that threatens to start a gang war. Worried about her safety, Quasar follows Randi to LA, determined to watch out for her. His timing is perfect, as an attempt is made on her life that very first night. That scene is fantastic, as it turns out that Randi is even more capable that Quasar suspected. I loved seeing his protectiveness come out in full force. Though Randi is his main purpose for being in LA, Quasar has also decided that it is time for him to confront his past in the form of his father and brother. I ached for Quasar and the misery he endured with a father who blatantly favored his older brother, and said brother who was a bully of the worst sort. I loved the way that Randi wanted to help him and wanted to shake him for pushing her away. Quasar's confrontation with his father was painful, and the effects spilled over onto his growing relationship with Randi and sent him fleeing the feelings he didn't want to admit. Enlightenment came from an unexpected source, and just in the nick of time. I loved his big moment at the end as he was finally ready to open his heart completely.

The suspense of the story was great also. Randi's abilities are amazing, as is her determination to use them for good. The case in LA began with a phone call from the FBI office there, and what she "saw" just from that call was incredible. Her arrival in LA and initial meetings with law enforcement emphasized the attitudes she had to deal with. I loved how she countered the negative with calm and professional courtesy, yet giving as good as she gets. Her meeting with the first of the gang leaders was incredible, and I loved seeing her get to him. We also get a look at the man behind the trouble and see what drives him. The suspense intensifies with each attack on Randi and the feeling that time is running out. There is an additional player who comes in later in the book and brings increased danger to Randi. Though not identified until the end, I wasn't surprised at who it turned out to be. Karma strikes again, and I loved its widespread reach.

One of the other enjoyable things about the book was learning more about the relationships between Quasar, Striker, and Stonewall. There is more revealed about the effect that Shep Granger had on their lives and the difference it has made to the men they are now. I also enjoyed the teasing among the three, especially when it came to their romantic escapades. I am really looking forward to reading Stonewall's story.

I actually listened to the audio of this book and anything Ron reads I'm going to be listening to, my gawd that man's voice is everything. Just amazing.

I absolutely loved this one. Quasar was one of my favorite guys from the trio once we were introduced to them. He's funny and hell bent on making a life for himself that doesn't diminish his past but also isn't built around it either. Having made changes while in prison and having created the beginnings of a new family for himself he isn't afraid of love so much as not willing to give his heart again after his last betrayal. Randi herself has dealt with people doubting her abilities for as long as she has had them, she herself hadn't wanted the gift she was being given but when she's made to take the time to learn more about her gift and herself she comes out of the crisis a better woman, a woman who knows who she is and what she wants from her life.

These two met because of Randi's involvement with the case in Forged in Desire. Her skills helped to save the life of a few people and helped bring the case to somewhat of a close. Having had a vision that she and the two other women she met on the case would one day be close she's not surprised when she realizes that will happen because of Quasar. Unlike him she's aware that they are fated to be together but she must allow Quasar the time he needs to come to the same conclusion and she must let the path they are on play out on it's own, she can't influence him or they won't end up together. (Talk about pressure) They have instant chemistry and Randi knows she has to deal with this the right way for her to end up with the love of a lifetime, but Quasar has to want it too, and for now he's only seeking to find out how deep this attraction goes. Unlike most people she meets Randi can't read Quasar and this means he's a mystery to her.

I loved the way this unfolded. I loved that she was psychic because we don't often see black psychics in romantic thrillers/ suspense. I was so excited to read this story and loved it all the way to the end. I yelled at the book, talk back to the book, and had to fan myself a few times. This was one hell of a roller coaster of a ride. Every time I thought "nah, it really can't be that bad, maybe he misconstrued...oh.. wait .. nah he right they trash" I was so addicted to seeing he common threads which tied back to the Granger series as well. The criminals in this were savvy and went even deeper than anyone believed. Cases from years before became even more interconnected and we learned just how far some will go to line their pockets.

Randi is also a behavioral psychologist so she's not just relying on her gift to help her solve the crimes and this makes her even more dangerous to some. Called out to help with a potential gang war, Randi walks into the middle of a conspiracy with deeper ties than anyone is aware of. Quasar follows Randi out there under the guise of seeing his family because his dad is insisting that they all need to come together around his brother who is announcing his candidacy for office. Quasar would rather eat rusty nails but he goes because he's not willing to leave Randi unprotected, something in him tells him she's going to need him. While there and getting to know her he's realizing this woman is even more different than he previously realized and this doesn't just intrigue him it makes him want to unravel the puzzle that is her. There is so much that happens to make this one hell of a story, from the past unraveling for Quasar, to Randi understanding the depth of her talents. I just couldn't believe how much happened.

While working the case and getting to know each other they take on their pasts, challenge each other and of course rock each other's worlds. I loved every second of it. I found myself hooked to the very last page, just dying to know and then very satisfied with the ending. I highly recommend my loves, especially if you love a little paranormal in your mystery thriller.

Mrs. Jackson does a great job with character development. Quasar is a man who does not want to anything to interfere with his progressing relationship with Randi and he is a man that holds his feelings. Until he encounters Randi. Quasar is doing things not in his nature when it comes to Randi, but the chemistry is drawing him in. Readers will see he is a man that feels deeply and is very dedicated..

The dialogue of the story flowed and fell in line with the plot.

n Seized by Seduction, Brenda Jackson continues the protector series. We get to know Quasar Patterson and psychic investigator, Dr. Randi Fuller.

So I’m definitely late to the party but I didn’t realize that we knew Randi until we met her sister Haywood. I literally screamed, “wait a minute! Your parents were one of Brenda Jackson’s earliest couples.”

What I liked: while the chemistry was there between these two, I have to admit that the romance took a back seat a few times in this book for me. I was so intrigued by the mystery and crime that was taking place. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I loved that there was a good balance of both the romance and the crime aspect of this novel.

I must say that I was drawn to Quasar a lot earlier than Striker in the previous book. Quasar had history and I love that this was explored. We got enough backstory for us to understand why he was the way he was. It explained his views on relationships, I also liked the fact that he wasn’t jaded despite all the familial issues he experienced.

What I didn’t like: Due to Randi’s psychic abilities, she knew that Quasar was going to be the man for her. She also knew that she would have to work hard to get him to trust her. With that being said, she was willing to give up so quickly. I was annoyed with her! She knew she had to work at this and she knew what the benefits and circumstances were yet she wanted to act brand new. Quasar was put at a distinct disadvantage in this case and so I expected her to take up some of the slack. He couldn’t see the future! Stop acting like he had to read minds too!

Fortunately, both of them came to their senses and realized that they would be much better together than apart.

Yes, they were seized by seduction, but they were also seized by love.

This was a solid addition to the Protector series and now I hope that Stonewall’s story will continue the momentum.

I had a difficult time in the first part of the book as all of Randi’s extended family overwhelmed me. In fact, I set the book aside for awhile. But once I got past trying to remember people and relationships and concentrated on Randi and Quasar, I was hooked on the story.

Dr. Randi Fuller is a renowned psychic investigator who used to work for the FBI and still has ties to the FBI. Quasar Patterson is an ex-con turned bodyguard. When their paths cross at a crime scene, they both feel the strong attraction as they look at each other over a distance but don’t actually meet in person. Three months later they finally meet at a function in Washington D.C that she is attending and where he is working. Randi knows they are fated to be together, but they have to earn each other’s love; Quasar just knows he can’t resist her. However, because of a bad experience with a former love of his life he has sworn to never love again.

When Randi is called to LA to help solve a gang crime, he feels her life is in danger and follows her out, becoming her lover. After an attempt on her life, he also becomes her bodyguard. LA also is where Quasar grew up. As loving as Randi’s extended family is Quasar only as a father and brother who both treat him badly. They even convinced Quasar to go to prison for something his brother did, and while in prison Quasar’s girlfriend married his brother. So, no love lost there.

I loved the way Randi and Quasar had a strong attraction but took the time to slowly build a relationship. And both struggled, as Quasar fought his attraction to her, and she had to hold back the knowledge that they were soul mates and would never be satisfied with anyone else.

I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway. Brenda Jackson is a new author to me, but I will definitely add her to my list of authors that I enjoy.

One of The Protectors series, in which we get to know Quasar Patterson, a self-appointed bodyguard when Dr. Randi Fuller, a psychic investigator, is threatened while she's on a case. Quasar works as part of a Security firm along with some other ex-cons he met while serving a sentence for a crime he didn't commit. In this part of the series, we learn who was responsible for him going to jail and why. We also learn how Randi helps the police and FBI solve cases and why, after she sees Quasar across a crowded room she realizes she's destined to be with him, but only if he learns to love her.

But does he? Can he? He's been badly burned by an ex-wife and tells Randi he'll never love another woman, for fear of being hurt again. She appreciates how he's protected her, but when it's clear he won't stay with her, she concludes she'll have to live with having loved and lost.

Then comes yet another threat that may succeed in doing her in. How that attempt changes Quasar's mind about the wisdom of staying away from her creates a satisfying end to this suspenseful read.

This book was much better than any of the books I read from the Granger series. There were a couple of issues like when Miss Jackson writes that Randi was wearing a dress that showed off her legs but later she mentions that she placed her hands in the pocket of her jeans. Then there were a couple of times a question was asked right after the answer had been given. Like when Quasar mentions his godmother doing something while she was alive and Randi then goes on to ask if she was still alive. The way he spoke about her made it clear that she wasn't. These things are small but they are also the thing that slows the flow of the story because I had to go back and make sure I wasn't losing my mind. All in all, it's a really good story that spoke psychic abilities in a way that didn't make the main character seem like she was sitting down with a crystal ball telling everybody about their future. Now, it's on to Joy and Stonewall's story.

Randi and Quasar had unbelievable sexual attraction from the first glimpse of each other. Randi is a psychic and has been called names, made fun of, people have tried to get close to her to get lottery winning numbers. She thought she seen it all. Until Quasar doesn't even blink an eye at what she's able to do. He believes in her and has no problem telling and showing that to her.

Quasar is a good man that just got birthed into a crappy family. You definitely don't need enemies when you have that kind of family. He wants answers from them, is he going to be strong enough for them when he gets them?

There was murder, mayhem, danger and I didn't know who to trust. I was questioning everybody! I thought I figured out who was behind it all and I was right!!! Woot!

INSTANT connection and attraction between Randi and Quasar...another SIZZLING sexy and thrilling read in the Protector Series...I thought the sexual encounter was a bit QUICK considering they REALLY didn't spend a lot of time together...BUT I guess
considering Randi's abilities...knowing what her Grandmother told her in her vision, it was OKAY to take their relationship to the
next level...I must admit I was CAUGHT UP in the thrilling suspense surrounding the murder, the gang wars, the attempt on Randi's life...and the DRAMA from Quasar's family...WOW...his father, brother and ex-fiancé were a HOT and AWFUL mess...so looking forward to the next book in this series! Also, hope there's something in the works for Roland...he deserves another chance at love.

Quasar's match is electrifying

Brenda Jackson provides a story of intrigue. One that has elements of paranormal. As we read about Quasar and Randi, you learn there is more than meets the eye. That in order to reach their happily ever after, that must first overcome trust issues, solve some murders and deal with the professional lives that ultimately may can cost either their lives.

I like this series and the one before it, as usual though her sex scene (the words she uses are weird) and in general she repeats a lot of phrases or story information through out her books, BUT I just roll my eyes and keep reading her plots are creative and interesting! her actual writing style is only okay however if she was better it would take these "good" books to being GREAT, I am looking forward to the next one in this series.

Her Protector

I enjoyed this story. I had the right amount of romance and suspense. Make sure you refresh with a previous novel The Ties That Bind before reading this connects with that novel.

I'm just upset I read the boos out of sequence....I read book 1, and then in error read book 3, and just finished book 2 in the series....These were the first books I've read by Brenda Jackson, and the series was excellent.

I really enjoyed this book! The characters were awesome. Funny, sweet, broken and more!

The plot was fairly believable and flowed well. I can't wait to read more in this series!

Brenda Jackson can weave a tale with the best of them. I found the book entertaining, but not as good as the first in the series. Don't let that deter you from buying and reading the books.

I really liked this second book. Shorter but wonderfully mysterious and spicy. Very up close and personal with Quasar's and Randi's family and everyday banter.
