From NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author L. Wilder comes book five in the Satan's Fury Series, a standalone MC romance.

Smokey
You can't fight fate, especially when it brings you a girl like MJ Thompson. She wasn't just beautiful. No, she was so much more than that. She was smart with a smile full of magic and curves that drove me to distraction. I wanted her, but there was a catch: She was the lawyer handling my father's will. And as if that wasn't enough, her dad was a cop.

I should've known better than to get mixed up with a girl like her, but I just couldn't resist. I wanted to feel her body pressed against mine. I wanted to hear her call my name while she was wrapped in my arms, so I ignored my instincts. I made her mine. After one night, she had me, heart and soul. Every ounce of doubt, every second thought, vanished.

Life was good. I had my woman by my side. The club's new pipeline was moving forward, and I was coming to terms with my past. Then, without warning, it all fell apart. I lost her. She skipped town, leaving only a note and a lot of unanswered questions. I thought I had to let her go, but she had a secret. After discovering what she was hiding, there was nothing I wouldn't do to have her back in my arms.

Sometimes the road takes you on an unexpected turn, and you end up exactly where you're meant to be.

**Smokey is book five in the Satan's Fury MC, but it is considered a standalone romance. This book is intended for readers 18 and older due to violence and explicit language.

I saw MC Club romance and I thought dark and suspenseful, but that's not what this was. This was a story about love. Love between the brothers of the Club. The love of family. And the epic love that Smokey and Marley Jo found with each other. I think this was the first MC Club book I've ever read that focused more on the emotions and relationships and less on the crime, drama and mayhem. While there were suspenseful elements and there were references to crime, in the grand scheme of things, they were just a drop in the bucket of this story.

This author took me out of the expected and I liked it a lot. There was just enough character development, intriguing plot points, and intense interpersonal relationships with a cast of secondary characters (who I assume were main characters of other books in the series), that this story was well-rounded and a pleasure to read.

Recommended to those who enjoy hot and steamy contemporary reads that are low on angst and high on love

5 PLUS, PLUS PERFECT Stars, if I could rate it 100 stars I would:)

OMG.....I have the biggest grin on my face right now and if I could shout out my love for this book, I would for all to hear:) I have loved this series and just when I think that one book may top another...well this one here definitely now sits at the top of the series and yeah maybe it shares the top dog space BUT it is TOP NOTCH worthy!!!!!

Smoke and MJ (Marley Jo)......oh my, they have officially become a top favorite couple of ALL TIME!!! I am not kidding when I say these two were magical, perfect actually for me, more than perfect for each other. I have a serious girl crush going on for MJ... She is one of my favorite h leads in so long and she has definitely made a name and a place in my favorite female lead characters category, ever!!!!!!

These 2 were so hot for each other, they were SO IN LOVE with each other that I could feel every single emotion dripping out of my Kindle and deep down straight into my soul. I mean there just aren't enough words on these 2 for me, the author portrayed them both perfect in every way and on every level for me and I am so damn thankful, lol!!!!!

OK, ok, enough about my immense and utter love of these characters.... Now onto the storyline. As usual in this series it's action packed, it is always filled with our previous characters and couples and I just can't get enough of the gang! The storyline flowed seamlessly, flawless, I was hanging on every word of every sentence. I was literally glued to my seat from start to finish. Put it down once and once only because I couldn't get enough while also holding my breath on a couple of occasions!

Congrats Author L. Wilder, you are not only a favorite writer of mine but just a beautiful, exciting storyteller and I cannot wait for more from you in the future. I have thousands of books in my kindle library and yet when one of your books gets released, I can't get it on my Kindle fast enough to start it and this was no exception:) This was not a home run, oh no, it was a Grand Slam for me!!!!!!

The couple: Smokey and MJ

Romance genre: MC
Series: Satan's Fury
Length: 174 pages

Plot: Smokey and MJ meet when she's trying to get into her car after a night out and has trouble. He gives her a ride home. She thinks she'll never see him again, and then it turns out that he's the mystery client she's been looking for (he inherited his father's estate, and she's the lawyer in charge of the case). After that, they start a relationship that seems like it's going somewhere, but her father, a cop, is less thrilled. In fact, he tells her . Of course, they figure things out, but not without a little angst.

Character development: I liked MJ - she wasn't judgemental, and she took Smokey for who he was without any idea of changing him or his affiliation with the club. That's the reason she left, after all - to save him and his cub, because she loved him and knew how important the club was to him. I wasn't sure what the big draw about Smokey was - he seemed like a good time, but nothing about his stood out. I was a little mad that he was going to be mad at her when she came back - I felt like he needed to recognize the sacrifice she was willing to make. But on the plus side, he got over himself really fast.

Next book in the series: Big

I enjoyed this addition to the series. Smokey was a good man and MJ was a good heroine until she let her father walk all over her. Safe read. Low drama. No manwhore vibe. Brief separation.

Book funks are the worst. I found this book while scrolling Amazon during a funk. For some weird reason, even though nothing appeals to me to read, I can still find stuff that sounds good. I was beyond happy when this one stuck. I must have gone through 20 books before finding this one.

I absolutely loved Smokey and MJ together. I loved how they met, before officially meeting. I loved how with that one short meeting, they both hated that they probably wouldn't see each other again. So when they did see each other again, neither was willing to let the opportunity pass. They had such great chemistry.

I loved what I saw of Smokey's MC brothers, their old ladies and his sister. I haven't read any other books in this series (yes, yes. I know, bad Lindsay. But I couldn't help it. A) it said Stand Alone (and it was) and B) I was in a funk and just needed SOMETHING to catch and hold my attention)...but I definitely want to go back and read the other books now.

I loved that Smokey was strong and alpha without being the asshole that you typically find in biker books. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, but he was a nice change. And I loved that once he found MJ, she was it for him. She was all he wanted. Even when things went bad and they separated, he didn't turn to all the club whores. He found MJ, and gave her time while still checking up on her to make sure she was ok.

This book was absolutely perfect to me. Honestly, I hated for it to end. I can't wait to see more of Smokey and Satan's Fury in the other books.

I couldn't resist this cover. He's like 'you know you wanna one-click me'. Yes, yes I do.

And I did.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the book for me. While I like farmer heroes, when I read a MC romance, I want a bad-ass biker, damn it.

5 STARS!

Another fantastic addition to L Wilder's phenomenal Satan's Fury MC series. I've been a fan of Ms. Wilder's since the very beginning. She's just gotten better and better with each of her releases. I've loved all her books, but this series has blown me away.

I loved this hero. He was sweet and gentle yet somehow still fierce and alpha. A difficult balance for an author to achieve, but Wilder did it well. This story was emotional and interesting, there were twists and turns and surprises I didn't see coming. Smokey and MJ lit up the pages of this book with their white hot chemistry, but it was the genuine and real love they shared for each other that kept me tapping the pages of my Kindle.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the gorgeous cover of this book. All the books of this series have stunning covers, and each one of them is finding a place on my shelves. But this cover (and Stitch's) are incredible, definitely two of my all time top favorite covers ever.

I loved this book, and I've enjoyed each installment in this fantastic series. L Wilder has given her readers a well written, exciting and steamy story with each book, and Smokey and MJ's story builds on all the greatness she's given us. A fabulously sexy, well written and interesting story fans of the MC romance genre won't want to miss.

Quick Info
Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Standalone
Part of a Series?: Yes
----------------------------------
Meeting the Characters
Smokey
Marley Jo
----------------------------------
What happens?
Marley is the lawyer in charge of Smokey's father's estate. When she meets resistance in accepting the estate from Smokey she turns to his sister for advice. His sister is unwilling and unable to run the farm herself and needs Smokey to step up and help.
Final thoughts
Smokey is a very paitent character, while he does chase Marley for the most part he does give her space when she wants it and isn't very forceful in being in her life.
I wanted Smokey to be more biker and I think he started off like that but quickly falls rapidly into being farming sort which again is fine IF I was reading a ranching romance or something along that line but I wasn't, I'm reading a biker book and I wanted a biker. Aside from that the romance is sweet and its a good read to keep the series in order for me to get through.

I enjoyed this addition to this series. There's more going on than the usual club drama. Smoky has to resolve the demons from his bad relationship with his now deceased father. He left the farm behind and vowed never to go back. However he finds he can't let go of his roots. Marley Jo is not associated with the club but is the lawyer that has come to settle his father's estate. It's a sweet love story with characters that make you feel their emotions. There's no cheating and a HEA.

Excellent

An excellent story that lets us really get to know Smokey including his background. He's shocked when he's informed of his father's death and the fact that he left half of the farm Smokey ran hard and far from when he was younger. The woman who gave him the news MJ also helps him understand the why and helps heal his heart as these two find a deep and lasting love.

A great book and one I definitely recommend.

Nice but dull

First sixty percent devoted to their affair which you know is going to end. Berlin's dad is a cop and what happens is very predictable. It's not a traditional mc story. More like biker lite. No violence, not much sex or reality . I marvel at all the raving reviews.

I really love this series. You do not have to read the series as these books serve as standalones but I like to know all of my characters that show up and you certainly have that in Smokey. I wouldn’t by pass them anyway as you would miss out on Maverick, Clutch, Stitch and my favorite Cotton. I also want to comment on the covers of the books. I love a black and white cover and the author has a way of creating the exact image of the main character. Smokey is no exception. Each release has a close up of the man himself with the exception of Maverick. The cover is great of course but I love the choice of a simple yet very poignant picture that tells so much.

A letter from MJ … that is the first thing you get when you turn the pages. Its nothing short of heartbreaking so you know you are about to hear a back story and how we got to where the letter was left for Smokey. Pain – complete pain was on that paper so be prepared because its not easy.

Smokey knew a woman like MJ would bring him down but he went down that road anyway. He never showed have looked back after dropping her off that first night but he couldn’t let her go. A kind and warm heart lies in the chest of the Satan’s Fury men. This is one of the numerous reasons I love these books. Smokey is a man who opened his heart, didn’t play hardball and put his past to rest in order to move forward with the beautiful woman he had grown to love. And then she left ….. a note. That was all he had left.

MJ did what she had to do. But now what? How is she supposed to move on with her life when the best half of her is far away. A man like no other rescued her, kept her safe, gave her his soul and she walked away all because she thought it was the only way. Her life is broken.

Again this is a great series. There isn’t a lot of mayhem in this series so if you like MC reads but not the gore this is the series for you! Go click them up and give the Satans Fury men a whirl. You wont be disappointed.

Thank you L. Wilder for the ARC! I wish these guys would have been around when I was stomping through the campus of Murray State in Kentucky. When we rolled down to Paris, TN I would have looked for them. --- GREAT READ.

Another amazing addition to Satan's Fury MC!!

Well, now I'm even more confused as to who may be my fav brother of Satan's Fury MC.
I just love when the big, badass biker comes to the rescue of a damsel in distress and they fall for each other—big time.
This story brings out the best of two characters who keep it real—no immature bratty moves made by a woman who might have demanded to have privilege to club business, no whining, or jealousy either; clearly, no game playing here. MJ had a serious, selfless reason for leaving and writing that LETTER to Smokey. I like her character a lot. She's definitely up there with Wren, Stitch's ol lady. She stayed true to her own convictions and couldn't give a crap that he was part of an MC. Unfortunately, when your father is the town's sheriff—do I need to say more?
Smokey is a smart, likable, hot as hell, loyal guy who happened to be handed another LETTER, one that could be considered life changing. Learning about his past made my heart ache, yet there were enough explanations to possibly heal some of his childhood wounds. Smokey has his own decision to make, one that could turn something good out of something bad.
Smokey's personal life isn't all that this book is about. Let's face it, Smokey is a biker and always will be. He makes no excuses for his lifestyle and why should he? Satan's Fury is his number one priority—when they call, he's there. With their pipeline in full swing, it also opens up plenty of trouble for the MC. They are brothers and will always have each other's back. It was fun "seeing" the whole group of them and hangin out at the clubhouse.
Leslie Wilder really did a fabulous job with this one. Smokey's story was told with enough passion for her readers to really feel him. Her conscientious attention to detail (gah, the farmhouse!!! I want to live there), an engaging storyline where one chapter blended into the next flawlessly, along with two amazingly lovable characters, made Smokey, hands down, a five star read for me. I highly recommend this story, as well as the whole Satan's Fury MC series. I was given this ARC for an honest review, and honest it certainly is.

Another enjoyable book in Satan's Fury Series. It gets harder to have just one favourite biker. It seems each one of them is determined to own my heart. And now Smokey joined the ranks.

The story started with a letter from MJ to Smokey. Which made me wanna to curl in a ball and cry, because it was so full of love but at the same time was full with pain. This letter partly shows what lies a head in the future in this book for the couple. It's like a warning that you need to brace for your heart to be smashed to pieces. But there was another feelings this letter inspired in me. Disbelief. Irritation. Incredulity. Because it's seemed MJ was giving up so easily. But I tried to erase those negative feelings towards her, because this letter only showed a little piece of the puzzle and we don't know yet what kind of environment MJ found herself in to make this kind of decision.

Through most of the story I couldn’t completely relax after reading that letter. It was like waiting for another shoe to drop. It was even worse because of the beautiful, sweet and passionate moments MJ & Smokey shared. You never want to see a beautiful thing to be crushed, but sometimes you know its unavoidable and you can't help but witness the crash. You can only hope, that their paths will collide again

I have read and loved every book in the Satan's Fury series and Smokey is no exception! Yes, it's a little bit softer and less of the hardcore MC and more of a family drama/love story but I really loved that. A steady diet of just bad guys and too much violence makes things get boring fast and with Smokey, we see the more human side of a biker with too much on his plate to deal with.
Marley has to deal with a brother who can be cynical and a cop for a dad who has issues with bikers in general, making a relationship with Smokey very tough indeed. When Marley gets herself into a sticky situation and has to make some tough decisions, it is painful and gut wrenching for everyone involved...but as we can expect, things might work out if we are just patient and follow through to the end.
A sweet and tender as well as rough and emotional addition to the series and if you have read the rest of the series, you will definitely not want to miss out on this one.

L Wilder hit it out of the park with Smokey. I loved this book. Smokey has a heart of gold and when he meets Marley , there is an attraction. Marley is hesitant to start anything with a motorcycle man ( her father is a cop) but when she sees Smokey, she's smitten. Smokey is one of L Wilder's best characters, he is torn between family responsibilities and his club, but makes the best choice. This book is well written and shows 2 people in love who help each other heal. There was a point where I nearly threw my kindle against the wall but it all worked out. L Wilder is an author that I love and both her MC series are the best around

I was so surprised and elated to find out Smokey he was getting his own story, I one-clicked this without reading the summary. That is based on the fact that I have loved all of the other books that I've read by L Wilder. I was not disappointed!
I love Smokey & MJ. Their journey isn't easy but well worth the ride.

4.5 Smokey and Marley Jo Stars

I do love an MC Biker book and I especially love them when the Hero isn't off banging Club Girls every other page. I don't like my Hero hooking up with anyone but the heroine as a rule. Smokey is loyal, sweetly alpha and has won over this kindle heart. He also won over M.J.

These two come from very different backgrounds. She is the lawyer daughter of a Sheriff. He is an outlaw biker. A very hot outlaw biker. Their's is an instant attraction but the story has a fairly slow build to the point where they are physically intimate, but this works well in this novel.

Highly recommend to any fan of MC romance (emphasis on the romance) with a solid alpha hero who is loyal, solid and totally swoonworthy.

I am usually a lover of the clubhouse, but I have to say the location in most of this book......loved it and could picture it and it so worked.

MJ, a lawyer, has been trying to reach a client forever without any luck. One night she manages to lock her keys in her car. Smokey comes to her rescue, gives her a drive home and arranges for the return of her vehicle. The timings not right, but he can't forget about her. MJ finally connects with her client, but things do go as she was expecting....

I loved these two together even when she made a dumb decision. I loved seeing a member of the club "branch" out and look forward to reading more.
