This Movie is for u, if you're a dreamer..

This Movie is for u, if you cynical about true love..

This Movie is for u, if you cynical about musical movies..

This Movie is for u, if you cynical about movie theaters magic, Jazz..all the good ol' beautiful thing still on..

It will always be on...successful and shining.

And This Movie is for you, if you're holding tight to you passion..
"He’s vulnerable. Gone is the pretense, the attitude. He’s like
a kid, eager to share his passion with the girl by his side…"

even if many doors slammed in your face.

even when you feel like giving up sometimes, but find it in yourself to get up and keep moving forward..

To make your dream..

Because you're a dreamer...living your life..vividly.

Let yourself fall in love..

But life isn't La La Land...Not Dream Land..

It can change the course of life...in a blink..
If you wanna cry, by God you cry...this story will do make you cry...
"This is the last time we’ll ever see them dance, and they seem to recognize that, so graceful and poised are their movements.."

But don't you forget to smile again...and move on.

The Very Short Review for the Script

MIA
You know, I have a friend who’s looking for a wedding band.
SEBASTIAN
Really? I have a friend who’s throwing a bachelor party.
MIA
Your playing used to make me cry.

Beat. Sebastian is silent. Mia hesitates, seems to grow nervous -- but continues--

MIA (CONT’D)
You were so true to this...this idea... And now... I don’t see that idea anymore.
I just see someone who’s begging to be liked.

She pauses. Realizes the gravity of what she’s just said.
Presses on regardless--

MIA (CONT’D)
And you’re right -- I said try something new, but I swear I would’ve stopped myself if I thought it’d replace everything else. You had such a clear dream, Sebastian. And you know what? I’m
angry at myself, because I might have screwed that up.

SEBASTIAN
When have you done anything? You’re paying to perform. Shouldn’t they pay you?

On that she freezes. Looks back at him. Crushed.

SEBASTIAN (CONT’D)
You condescend to me, but I play on a stage and people have a good time. When have you done anything that anyone liked??

PS: I was planning to translate the 'short review' into English as I did with the review's beginning. But my dear friend, Fitzwilliam from the first comment made a very magnificent review, with all of what I wished to say in his comment.. so I just edit it to make it worth the script as well as the he did for the movie. -

In an age filled with superhero movies and cash-grabbing, unnecessary remakes, thrives a young director who’s barely at the age of 32, to remind a selective group of audience of the captivating magical beauty of musicals.
he finished the script at 2013, even before his thirties..as a dream movie full of passion and love , LA LA in all real and not a dream...but with 2 amazing dreamer characters as himself.
And 3 years later it was completed with real huge cast and amazing movie...from dreamers, to ones.

It is a letter of love, coated with just the right amount of beautiful nostalgia, to the old days of remarkable musicals. Damien Chazelle pays a beautiful homage to classic musicals that impacted the film industry and our childhoods.
In the script you can see his passion for good old style of Movie Theatre, films sections in public libraries, disrespect of people who texting in cinemas during the show nowadays which some of it cut off the final version.
Even his full tribute to Ingrid Bergman which is also not fully in the movie.

Chazelle’s palpable passion for music shines brightly in La La Land. It is an ode to dreamers and artists all around the world. From the cinematography to the lighting in the film, La La Land is, undoubtedly, one of the greatest musicals ever made. Damien Chazelle had set a very high bar with this masterfully crafted musical.
and the script even includes his full vision of the dance scenes..which also enhanced by the final version.. the passion of Seb is clear. There's so much fun parts, as sad as well...

The movie, however added more into the dream of Seb, and I felt close to him when he remarks for his sister he want a date who understand and love Jazz.. to the irony later that he fall in love for Mia who hate jazz.. but they both have passion and dreams. Which made them a great couple.

God it was so beautiful...
After every thing, it was a 2 hours of real positive energy.

April 2013 draft.

Rather amazing to see how much Damien Chazelle's story changed from this early draft, to the film that was released over three years later. The core concept is very similar, but the numerous subtle differences in dialogue and structure present a film with a much different, and sadly, less magical tone than the film that was released. It’s still a great read, but the extra two years Mr. Chazelle spent refining the script (along with the year he spent editing the film in post) make this early draft feel more flawed than it really is.

Reading the final few pages still caused me to well up with emotion, but some of that credit must go to the Justin Hurwitz score that has been playing on loop in my subconscious for weeks.

This is the last time we’ll ever see them dance, and they seem to recognize that, so graceful and poised are their movements... Remember -- this is a romance more perfect than a real romance could ever be...

In my heart, the dance goes on.

La La Land is a dreamy and even a somewhat silly love story, yet it keeps drawing me back for continual viewings. To start with, few movies can deliver such a seamless blend of sadness, humor, and beauty swept up brilliantly in a musical. Moreover, every scene, whether spectacular or intimate, is so meticulous with its fantastic sets, vivid colors, and witty dialogue that it is hard to take them all in with a single viewing. Emma Stones facial expressions alone deserved to win the Oscar, but Ryan Gosling is equally outstanding. His playing of the piano is stunningly good, and his comedic abilities are underappreciated. Together, Stone and Gosling are charming in capturing the heartfelt twists and turns of their romance.

As for the plot, its simplicity, nonetheless, keeps you off-balance and guessing with the suspense building until the absolute final frame, where some viewers have expressed disbelief. The first time I saw the film, I too kept wondering how it could end this way. The more I reflected, the more I am convinced the ending is perfection—something writer/director Damien Chazelle must have obsessed over countless times. Whether it makes you smile or breaks your heart, the totality of La La Land is more than a quirky love story. It’s about pursuing your dreams and about cherishing those fleeting moments of happiness with people who pass through your life and change your course forever.

I recently started reading scripts and I loved the film. So I wanted to see how it translated from the script. And I was quite surprised because none of the dialogue was the same and there were many changes in the scenes. I know that since it is a musical, it is normal that there will departs from the script. But the original script didn't have many of the qualities that made the film amazing, which made me question Chazelle's writing abilities, especially dialogues.

“La-La Land's a land of losers. . . . We're all just a bunch of dreamers. Why do we come out here chasing dreams that are so hard to catch? It takes your heart, your guts and your liver just to find the lock, and then 999 times out of a grand you can't find the key.”

“And, ever so subtly, for just a fleeting second, Mia smiles.

It’s the kind of smile you could miss if you blinked -- but it’s enough to signal to Sebastian that she recognized the melody he played, and that she still remembers it, and still thinks of it to this day...”

Obviously still amazing but starkly different to the final film, very glad Damien took it into a different direction and made it a perfect film

I'm always fascinated to read a script for a film where the end product is highly stylized. Chazelle's vision while not apparent in his writing shows through in the details.
