A country in crisis.

A palace with deep secrets.

A monarchy under pressure.

Crown Prince of Sardones, Ander Nicholas Gabriel Camran was my childhood best friend.

Until he wasn’t.

Nicholas was the boy who played hide-and-seek with me inside the palace walls.

The pre-teen who taught me how to play the piano. The teen who snuck me into the kitchen at midnight for ice cream sundaes.

My first crush. My first kiss.

Ten years later, I have the opportunity of a lifetime. To photograph and chronicle the Royal Family of Sardones’ reinstallation.

To capture history.

And now, he’s about to become king. But the monarchy has rules. Traditions.

Nicholas is determined to break them all.

For his country. For himself.

For me to become his queen.

Hands-down one of the best books I've read this year.

Royal Gentleman was an absolutely fantastic book filled with intrigue, danger and lots of set-your-kindle-on-fire love scenes. This friends-to-enemies novel tells the story of Prince Nicholas and his childhood best friend Kerris while they attempt to navigate their relationship amongst the recently reestablished royal court of Sardones. The two hadn't seen or spoken to each other since they were teenagers, but when the monarchy is reinstated Nicholas knows he will need people around him that he can trust to help him if he is elevated to king and he asks Kerris to join his staff and use her skills as a photojournalist to document history being made while also keeping a watchful eye on the court. Reunited with her first crush, Kerris is thrust back into the presence of the royal family whom she grew up with due to her father's position within the royal government. What she doesn't know is that she was Nicholas' childhood crush as well and their relationship ignites the moment they are reunited. But the reinstallation of the royal family is not as seamless as one would have hoped and not everyone in Sardones is happy that the monarchy is rising to power once again which causes major upheaval in the country. When political intrigue combines with Nicholas' royal duties to put the country above his personal desires both he and Kerris must attempt to survive everything that threatens their relationship including whether or not a commoner can truly be with a royal.

I honestly couldn't put this book down. It was masterfully written and I enjoyed the story from start to finish. It had me captivated from the very first page and I couldn't put it down. It was one of those all-nighters and I didn't even regret the lack of sleep the next day. It was totally worth it. One aspect that I loved most was the mini historical tidbits about royalty around the world that the author inserted among the storyline. I guarantee you won't be disappointed with this incredible story of true love. Make sure to pick up your copy ASAP.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my crowning jewels! This book was fantastic! The reigniting of Nicholas and Kerris’s childhood events turned a friendship to a loving relationship! This was a wonderful Royals read that included all the heat, drama, death, history…just all of it so perfectly wrapped up together in an enthralling storyline!

Author Christy Pastore has a wonderful writing technique, it is easy to follow, hot, the characters (not even just the main characters, but also the supporting ones as well!), the suspense and second chance romance blended so well! I absolutely loved Royal Gentleman! 5 Stars!

I am all for a story about a royal family, but when you add in a little suspense and a lot of heat, I'm SOLD!!! I couldn't get enough of Kerris and Nicholas's story. Nicholas and Kerris were childhood friends who reunite when Nicholas's family reclaims the throne in their country after being ousted years before. You can instantly feel the chemistry between these two and you just know there was so much more than friendship all those years before.

Ms. Pastore does an amazing job of painting this fictional country and their rulers. The story was intriguing and had me trying to guess what was coming next. Through it all though, I just fell in love with Nicholas. This man put his country and Kerris first at every turn. He was everything I crave in a book boyfriend and Ms. Pastore gave him to me on a silver platter. This friends to lovers story is low angst and high in heat and so good. You need to read it!

Royal, Riveting, Romantic!
Royal Gentleman by Christy Pastore is a standalone friends to lovers, royal romance. Kerris and Nicholas were childhood friends. They grew up together and shared an intense connection. However, when the monarchy is voted out of Sardones they gradually drift apart.

Kerris lives in Chicago and is a freelance photo journalist. She has a close knit family and is enjoying her career pursuits. Nicholas is well traveled and a bit of an adventurer. He is loyal to his family and the people of Sardones. A sudden discovery that the vote to get rid of the monarchy was rigged, thrusts Nicholas and his family back into rule. Nicholas asks Kerris to accompany him back to Sardones, because he doesn't know who can be trusted. He only knows he trusts Kerris explicitly.

The time that Nicholas and Kerris spends together ignites old feelings and chemistry. The camaraderie and passion are potent. They truly see each other's hearts. The sex is spectacular and the friendship unbreakable. Through tragedy, political conflict, and a plot to once again end the monarchy Prince Nicholas and Kerris cling to their love and faith in one another. I enjoyed the bits of suspense and intrigue that were added to this story. It helped to strengthen the characters and round out the plot. This was a satisfying and swoony read!

Best friend, lover, king.

Kerris grew up among the royal family but her best friend, Prince Nicholas, was just a boy, her confidante, her first crush. Years later she is called back to witness history. The royal family is being reinstated and Nicholas wants her to document it all with her camera. Things quickly become heated between the two and friendship turns to a lot more.

I loved these characters! Kerris and Nicholas were a perfect match and the secondary characters added so much to the story. Add in some royal history, intriguing suspense, and a whole lot of steam, Royal Gentleman is a must read!

Kerris, the commoner, the childhood friend to the Prince. What happens when she's all grown up and gets the chance to be the photography for the royal family? Will Prince Nicholas see more than a childhood friend?

Let me start off with, holy action! I didn’t realize there would be action in this story, but there is, and I am here for it. I really loved Nicholas! I am so glad he wasn’t super arrogant, or a complete womanizer. As far as Kerris, she could and did hold her own during difficult times. One would imagine being in love with a prince and dating a prince is very hard and it would take a strong person to do so.

I loved the storyline; I loved their chemistry and I loved that this had royals in it. It was a royally good read… see what I did there ;)

Perfect summer read!

This book has it all: childhood-friends-to-lovers, steamy hot love scenes, suspense and ROYALS! There is something for everyone.

I’m a royal lover so getting a book written by another royal-lover is a dream come true. I love the characters and world that Christy has created. Kerris and Nicolas are amazing together. I couldn’t help to smile and sigh with happiness with their interactions.

Cannot wait to see if we get more from Sardones in future books by Christy.

This is my first book by this author, so I was hoping for a really good read. What I got was FANTASTIC! Who isn't obsessed with the Royals? And a romance between a Prince and a beautiful commoner filled with intrigue, suspense, and murder? This book has it all!

Kerris grew up in the Royal Palace because her father worked for the King of Sardones. She was a childhood playmate of both Prince Nicholas and Xavier and Nicholas gave her her first kiss. But after a rigged vote, the Royal family was banned from the country and Kerris's family moved to the States.I

When the Royals are reinstated 10 years later, Crown Prince Nicholas asks Kerris to return with him as his official photographer. The attraction they had for each other as teenagers is still there and the spark flares up into a full raging fire. But Royals cannot date or marry commoners, and there are uprisings everywhere across the land. Someone is leading the insurgents against the Royal family and Nicholas worries for Kerris's safety.

I loved this book and will be reading much more from this talented author! FIVE CROWNING STARS!

Royal Gentleman by Christy Pastore is hands down one of my favorite royal books.

The story follows Kerris, a photojournalist living in Chicago and Nicholas, a member of the Sardones royal family. Childhood friends who have been separated for years are reunited when the royal family is reinstated back in their home country. The chemistry between them is off the charts and their witty banter draws you into their story right away.

This drama-filled read is low angst between the main characters, which makes way for a larger and suspenseful plot surrounding Nicholas and his family. It's twisty, intriguing and has you wondering how it's all going to work out in the end.

Perfect summer read!

Royal Gentleman by Christy Pastore is a contemporary, friends to lovers, second chance, royal romance told in first person dual POV that takes place in the fictional country of Sardones.

Due to a conspiracy coming to light that had been responsible for ousting and exiling the royal family from Sardones more than ten years ago, the monarchy is being reestablished and the royals are returning to govern.

Photojournalist, Kerris, grew up among the Sardonian royal family with a crush on her childhood best friend, Nicholas, the Crown Prince. Having lost contact over the years, she is surprised when he reaches out to her and offers her a position documenting the reinstatement of the royal family. Nicholas and Kerris reconnect quickly and soon it's as if they were never apart. As adults now, not only is their bond strong, but their attraction is intense and undeniable. Kerris and Nicholas want to be together, but there is a law against royals marrying commoners.

What will happen when Nicholas becomes king? Will parliament change the rules so he can be with a commoner? Will he be forced to choose between Kerris and the throne? And will Nicholas even make it to the throne? Or will those opposed to the monarchy succeed in destroying it?

I absolutely loved this story! I really enjoy royal romances and my favorite tropes are friends to lovers and second chance, so this was right up my alley. Kerris and Nicholas were both wonderful characters - likeable and relatable. The world-building was fantastic, realistic, and believable. Full of romance, intrigue, suspense, and steamy scenes, I highly recommend this page-turner.

I love it when a book is so good and so well written that it sucks me in and I know right away that the couple is meant to be together. Royal Gentleman gave me all the romantic feels, it’s a deliciously naughty and sexy book that I couldn’t get enough of. Christy Pastore created one heck of a clever and fantastic royal hit!!

Royal Gentleman has a perfect blend of drama, suspense and sizzling sexy times with an intriguing storyline that lured me in immediately. Nicholas and Kerris are exceptional, flawless characters with romantic chemistry and undeniable attraction. These two were like magnets and their thirst for each other was very tantalizing. Royal Gentleman is a definite must read!!

Royal Gentleman was not what I expected, but was so much more. It was a story filled with love, conspiracies, danger, sex and everything in between. There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, which made for an exciting read.

Author Christy Pastore created a detailed world in which this Royal Family ruled over. Nicholas was every bit of what the title says - a Royal Gentleman - and it was hard not to fall for him instantly. The same can be said for Kerris, a longtime friend of Nicholas turned lover. The passion and affection between Kerris and Nicholas were palpable and made cheering them on so easy.

I recommend this story (as well as anything written by Christy Pastore) and I’m hoping there will be a story with Xavier in the works...

Nicholas will legit give his woman anything at a moment's notice, “so, we’ll get you a gown.” Nicholas pulls out his phone and taps at the screen. He eyes me up and down. “Something in red. You’ll look amazing in red.” Nicholas likes to make his plans known, “completely. I suggest you meet with the stylist. Pick out a cocktail dress . . . a short one. I plan on effing you in front of as many mirrors as I can.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Nicholas, the man would move Heaven and Hell for his woman.

We begged Christy to write a royalty story because we are obsessed with all things royal. Well, Christy delivered with this story. Karris and Nicholas have been friends since they were children but circumstances made them lose touch. Then similar circumstances bring Nicholas and Karris back together. As they explore old feelings, their friendship grows, and Nicholas has to deal with becoming King. This story is sexy, sweet, a bit of mystery, and part thriller that helped me devour it in no time.

Love all things royal and Christy Pastore does not disappoint with Royal Gentleman. There is old history, childhood friends reconnecting, some crisis and drama and a lot of great characters in this book.
Kerris and Nicholas were childhood friends, he's always know he would be king until the monarchy was removed. Now with it back in place Nicholas reaches out to Kerris for help. So much happens in this book. But the core of it is the relationship with Kerris and Nicholas and how can a commoner become a royal.
There are great supporting characters. There was crisis and issues within the plot but I loved the basis of the story and how 2 people can find love and be there for each other! I could not put it down!

Christy Pastore is an automatic one-click for me and this standalone; friends to lovers, royal romance book did not disappoint me!

Backstory – Kerris Von Roy and The Crown Prince of Sardones, Ander (Nicholas) grew up together inside the Royal Palace. Nicholas is to someday become King and Kerris the daughter of a Royal Palace worker. The royals get booted and Kerris and Nicholas part ways, Ten years pass…….

Nicholas has just learned that he and his family can return to the Royal Palace and take their rightful place as the reason they were booted has just been discovered as false. He needs someone he can trust by his side…..and Kerris his is first thought.

Kerris is now working as a freelance photographer in Chicago when she receives a call from Nicholas asking for her help. She is packing her bags in a blink of an eye to go and help her friend.

This story has it all! There is romance, great chemistry, mystery, some angst, and let’s not forget to mention the hot as heck sex scenes! It is packed with all the feels and I was left with wanting even more!! More Nicholas…More Kerris…more royals…more…Xavier (he needs his own book!)

My favorite line in this story come from Nicholas when he states: “I want her more than I want my next breath. Actually, I want her more than I want to be king. Lucky for me, I can have both.”

If you are a fan of royal romance and/or second-chance romance stories….then this IS the book for you! Highly Recommend!

Loved it

A friends to lovers royal romance with added suspense??? YES, PLEASE!

This was my first book by Christy Pastors and it definitely won't be my last. From her writing style to her amazing characters to the intriguing plot, it was easy to get lost in Nicholas and Kerris' story.

I found myself fully engrossed in this book, wanting to know what would happen next. Not only was the suspense a great bonus, I mean hellooo, who doesn't love some mystery, but the other issues within the book were just as interesting to me. Would Nicholas become king? Would he be able to be with Kerris?

Now, let me tell you, Nicholas was swoony, yes, but I loved how Kerris loved him for who he was inside. She saw him. Always did, even when they were kids. Their relationship was smooth in the sense that they knew and understood each other so being together was pretty effortless. Of course, their relationship in general wasn't always easy because of outside forces that came along with royalty, but again, that only made the book that much better, LOL!

Overall, a great read I definitely recommend you check out if you love second chance, friends to lovers, or royal romances!

It was hard not to swoon over Nicholas. Isn't it every little girl's dream to marry a prince? It was fun getting a bird's eye view of royal life: the fans (and naysayers), the paps, the threats, making hard decisions and having to smile and wave. I can imagine it's not an easy life. Kerris & Nicholas' relationship was sweet and sexy. It had mutual respect with them having a deep friendship, and it was hot, hot, hot! I also loved the Easter eggs of a certain American duchess.

Kerris and Prince Ander Nicholas Gabriel Camran were childhood friends, and her first crush. Ten years later, Kerris is in America, working as a photojournalist, when out of the blue, Nicholas calls on her. See, his family was oust from their country by a fake vote to get rid of the monarchy, so they've been living in exile waiting until they could go home, however, his mother has since passed away while his father is sick, so Nicholas will be the one ruling his country of Sardones, once it's known his father cannot. So he asks Kerris to become his personal photographer/eyes, since he can't really trust many people, and she finally says yes. She moves back with him, lives in the palace, and goes about her business. However, they have serious chemistry which won't be denied as adults, so it's not long before they're lighting his sheets on fire, but they also have feelings for each other. Of course, there's a faction rebelling the family coming home, with all kinds of violence breaking out with bombings, shootings, so people are dying, and he's worried about putting a target on her back. Yeah, this story was 100% addictive from the first page to the last. Nicholas & Kerris were great together, with his little brother being a fantastic secondary who provided a ton of humor to mix of drama & sexiness. There's also so many twists going on, so I enjoyed dropping f-bombs each time I was shocked by something. Royal Gentleman was an awesome story about a royal family, as a crown prince falls in love with a commoner that everyone should one click immediately. I really want this to be a series, since there's a brother/younger prince who needs to meet himself a woman (hint hint). Anyway, that's enough out of me, so I'll end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL!

Kerris Von Roy thought she’d left the past behind. Nicholas Camran may just have a fresh start. His family has a mystery in its past that has decided to reappear. This story had me think Monaco. I can picture that as the setting.

We have a fascination with royalty. Some people may go a little overboard in that fascination. The media helps to fuel that preoccupation/obsession. They may be people but there’s nothing ordinary about their lives. Our author puts a spin on that attraction and adds in some suspense to add fuel to the fire. Something else we love is when a royal bachelor finds a love interest.

Nicholas seems too good to be true and that’s why this is a work of fiction. If you’re looking for a book boyfriend why not aim high and go for a royal. Will you replace Kerris in his heart or become her doppelganger? Her job sounds interesting and who wouldn’t love a job where you’re not stuck behind a desk. This author knows how to create steam and I loved the suspense aspect. I know this is a standalone but I found myself wanting more of the royal family of Sardones.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
