Illuminating
I was introduced to Bethel by good friends of mine who knew I needed more then the nourishment I was getting. So in the hospital listening to worship from a great many groups I read “Triumph Over Trauma.” I had not realized I had had trauma in my life. Parents never fought or divorced. Never abused. I did however spend a good many weeks in the hospital alone and still do. So knowing that my friends said give these guys a listen and let us know what you think. So I watched Bill Johnson on YouTube and that was the end or should I say beginning. I am so hungry for God and our Jesus and his love and works I can’t get enough. I went looking for books to read and naturally I wanted something that came fellow believers. I found it. I will pass it on. It’s enlightening and encouraging.

Empowering
Excellent book to challenge and equip . Thought provoking and definitely not for the faint hearted because it challenges mediocrity which is excellent wants to move you on in your walk . The sections complement each other and the ponder sections aid the impact of the passage read highly Recommend .

I struggled with many of the claims of this book. Because I have not seen the supernatural healing described in several of the devotionals, I do not find them to be something I can fully comprehend.

I didn't finish this one. I had questions early on about the authors' interpretation of Christianity. But when one of the authors' claimed that God told him to call someone by the wrong name just to see if he'd obey, that was enough. Read the Bible instead.

Excellent. So full of Biblical truths!

Nice short meditations on powerful truths. Every meditation ends with some call-to-actions to let it sink into your daily life. I especially like the practical exercises to train the spiritual gifts.
In the past, I never knew spiritual gifts could be trained. All teaching I heard always stayed at some vague level like: "it's moving in the anointing", "it's when the glory falls" and all that kind of vague talk. I have no doubt that there are people who know how and why it works, but there is a difference between doing it and training others to do it.
The people from BSSM (by whom these writings originate from) made moving in the supernatural practical and helped me change my thinking. I now see the gifts as underdeveloped muscles that can be trained.
As an example, here are some great exercises from chapter 30:
- Asking words of knowledge for a waiter and then "interviewing" the person to check if you heard God right.
- Prophesying your day: asks God for some information about your day, write it down and check at the end of the day if it was right.
- Practice words of knowledge for healing: if you are in a group, ask God to reveal if someone needs healing and check if you feel something happening in your body at a specific place. Check if someone has a problem at that place and if yes, pray and see the Lord healing that person.

Powerful truths
This book is a great compilation of writers of the leaders in the Bethyl Movement. The short articles gave a short synopsis of specific Biblical truths. I have read most of Bill Johnson's books and his articles were reminders of his teaching. I was also introduced to writers I had not read before and was exposed to even more truth. This book is so good that I would recommend it for anyone who is serious about their faith and pursuing a deeper relationship with God and advancing the King's domain.

Some of what the authors discussed went straight over my head, I must admit. This may be caused by me being German and not having grown up with all of the different Christian groups/directions which exist in the U.S.A.
I still found this a very interesting read, with a lot of points to reflect on, and a lot of more information I have learnt.
I would recommend this read to any Christian interested in furthering their knowledge, even be it only on how other nationalities view and interpret the Bible.

Best! My most favorite devotional
I am so grateful to the Johnson's and the team from Bethel. In daily reading this devotional book my passion for Jesus has been stirred. I so appreciate the way that God has used these writings to not only stir my affection for Him but to also reveal present truth to my heart. I'll review this book again and again.

Amazing
I have learned so much! I know now that I can receive the same gifts that the apostles did because I am also God's disciple on earth. I am passionate for God and must always stay that way.

I thought parts of this book were excellent, however there were a lot of parts that I have a different doctrinal point of view. It was well written and easy to read though.
