My story is not my own, it's ours. Mine and Vaughan's. Except I can't remember it. Or him.
I only know who I was before, and when remembering proved to be too much, I moved on and started over.
And then the dreams started. Vivid, and bold, filled with a face I didn't know. But he was always there. In my head. In my heart. And when I decided to put pen to paper, I found him whispering, "Come back to me."
Some stories are meant to be rewritten. Others are meant to be relived.

In April 2019, I graduated with my Publishing degree, and took a brief writing hiatus to complete my studies. It's okay. I had a few issues. She's lost her memory, her best friend encourages her to date even though she knows she was secretly in love with the Hero but doesn't help them get together. The Hero just gives up and starts something with someone else. They both sort of date other people. Kiss others etc but no sex but attempts at it. Abrupt ending. HEA. But no real explanation.

OMG how can I tell you about this book without spoiling it for you?! It is literally heartbreaking at the beginning and then slowly picks up and tells you their story. One piece at a time… Kenzi and Van are the sweetest and dare I say, *it* couple that I loved and rooted for through this whole story. They are the real deal. Van loves Kenzi and has always loved her but faces some tough fight from her family, especially her brothers for they are super protective. It’s the protectiveness that causes the pain and heartbreak and almost tragedy—what I can tell you is—she knows who Van is when the book starts…and literally she doesn’t know him within pages due to the horrible accident. Amnesia –Poor Van…my heart broke for him yet True Love doesn’t ever die , does it. Kenzi is dreaming about this mystery man, she sees him in her dreams but she doesn’t know who the guy is. Who is this man?? What about Van..or is it Van. You literally have to read this book to find out what is going on and I promise you the payoff is worth it. This story tells you about them, her and him and their life, before and after. What an awesome way to find out, fantastic story by this author!
***Update--I loved the revised version of this book with an extra 20k words to this book and it was a bonus to this book. I loved the added content for it enriched and flavored this book even more. I loved the added content. It helped round out this book even more. If you liked this book the first time, you will totally love this book the 2nd time. But if you were like me, I loved the book the first time and totally gushed over this book the 2nd time. Its like falling in love all over again with my favorite characters Van & Kenzi.
My rating: 4.5 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Vaughan is no damn near perfect but I like him. The only problem is he took a long time to take his head out of his ass to realize that Kenzi is worth fighting for. I love Kenzie, she's sassy and smart. I can't imagine going through something like that. This is a sweet story that makes my heart ache. But damn, the ending honestly suck for me. I want an epilogue or something, the ending is too abrupt.
This will definitely be a book that I come back to again. Come Back To Me was a heartbreakingly beautiful love story. I was drawn in from the beginning and couldn't let go until the last words were spoken. I experienced so many emotions throughout Vaughan and Kenzi's journey. I longed for her to realize what her heart was trying to tell her head. It was all there in her journal, her mixed emotions every time she was near Vaughan and when they were apart. My heart broke for her but mainly for Vaughan. How does he watch the love of his life move on without him, especially when she doesn't remember what they had together? I wanted to yell and scream at Kenzi to focus on her feelings that something wasn't right except when she was with him. How could she ignore the way he looked at her and was always able to center her? And how does she reconcile her jealousy of seeing him with someone else when he's a complete stranger?
I struggled a bit with the fact that nobody would clue her in on any details she was missing. I get that they wanted her to remember everything on her own, but part of helping someone with amnesia is guiding them back to their memories, giving them clues or stories to help them. However, it was cool how she used her journal to help calm her thoughts and dreams. I loved how the memories of a faceless stranger poured out of her unwittingly. I enjoyed reading Vaughan and Kenzi's love story. Some were sweet memories, but I loved the super hot sexy ones. ;)
As a side note, I loved all the other relationships in this story. I would love to read more about this family!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.
My story is not my own, it's ours. Mine and Vaughan's. Except I can't remember it. Or him.
I not going spoil this book for you so review will be short
What a great story from the first page I had to keep turning to find out what was going to happen Kenzi and Van **sighs** oh I loved Van... any way back to the story they have been dating the only problem is Van is best friends with her Brothers when they find out something happens and there is an accident and Kenzi ends up in a coma…
Only once she wakes up she doesn’t know who Van is… or any memory of the past year.
Then she starts to have vivid dreams involving a mystery guy… but she never sees his face. Is it Van? you will have to pick up the book to read. :)
This book was really good and is the first I have read by this Author and will not be my last.
This was a good read. I'm glad it was free and didnt pay anything for it. The story was good. There was certain things that didn't make sense and the timing of stuff seemed off to me. It was a cute read didn't like how it just ended that really sucked hate when authors do that.
I'm not sure I even know where to begin after reading this one. My emotions have just been dragged up, down and all around!
This is an absolutely beautiful story about finding your way back to your other half. The depth and emotion poured into this book was simply mind blowing.
In no way is this your traditional romance book, but I urge you to give it a try because in my opinion it's so much better then the norm.
I'm literally sitting here with my heart feeling full and desperately wishing I hadn't rushed through this one so that I could still be submerged in the world of Vaughn.
I absolutely loved this and him! I couldn't imagine how it would feel to be in a situation like he was. It hurt. COME BACK TO ME... made me very emotional.
I’ve been a fan of Tamsyn Bester since I read Beneath Your Beautiful by back in 2013. I really enjoyed this emotional rollercoaster of a book. This book is about finding your way back to your first love, even if you can’t remember them. This book starts when Vaughn and Kenzi are found out by her brothers, that they’re together despite the warning about the team not f*cking with their younger sister Kenzi. They don’t take it well at all, especially the twins and Vaughn’s teammates Liam and Aidan. Vaughn hates how they’re talking about Kenzi and they get into a punch up. Kenzi runs and drives away in Vaughn’s truck, Vaugh takes Kenzi’s best friends Prius and follows her, as he doesn’t want her to drive in her state. Vaughn is right behind Kenzi at a set of traffic lights and he sees the moment that a dr*nk driver plots into the truck.
Kenzi miraculously survives but has to be put into an induced coma, due to swelling in her brain. She hasn’t woken up in over two weeks, Vaughn is a walking zombie. I really think it sh*t how no one told Vaughn that Kenzi had woken up and that she’s lost a year of her memories. He finds out when he runs into Kenzi at the hockey rink and she doesn’t remember him. Man, it would be heartbreaking have to go through that. Vaughn has to watch Kenzi get on with her life without him. Kenzi doesn’t remember what Vaughn means to her but he seems to be in the background and she can’t understand why she reacts to him the way she does. She feels safe in his arms.Little do they know that Kenzi keeps remembering a guy with green eyes, as he’s haunting her dreams. She has a journal fill of all their moments and it’s Vaughn and that’s the reason why she’s drawn to him.
All I can say is man Alex is a complete and utter d*ckhead and I’m glad that nothing really happened between him and Kenzi, as she couldn’t go through with it. Vaughn she’s Kenzi living her new life so he tries to do the same, and kind of starts seeing his work colleague Callie. That really goes nowhere as he’s still in love with Kenzi. I loved how understanding Callie is of the situation, as she could’ve been a complete and utter b*tch when she heard the situation. I’m glad that Aidan, Kenzi’s brother apologised about how badly he treated Vaughn before Kenzi’s accident, and that he deserves her, and gives him permission to date his younger sister Kenzi. This book has a lot of sweet moments throughout, especially between Kenzi and Vaughn.
It annoyed me that her best friend, and roommate Maddy encouraged Kenzi to start dating again, even knowing that she’d been in a secret relationship with Vaughn during her first year of college, forgetting him and that’s why she’s so drawn to him each time they run into each other. It’s completely messed up and I would’ve been way more pissed if I was Kenzi for all the details that were hidden from her. I’m glad that Vaughn got custody of his little brother Daniel, after their mother broke Daniel’s arm. I’m looking forward to reading more books form Tamsyn in the future. I liked getting the bonus short story about Liam and Callie, and seeing Liam own up to being an a*sehole where Vaughn and Kenzi were concerned. I did find the ending to be a tad abrupt. I’d definitely recommend this book and author to everyone.
Come Back to Me was a heartbreakingly beautiful story about finding your way back to your first true love.
Kenzi can't remember the life she shared with Vaughan. When she wakes up from a medically induced coma, a result of an accident, she has no memory of him or their relationship.
She tries to move on with her life. She goes back to college and back to her apartment with her roommate, Maddy. But Vaughan is always there, in the back of her mind. She knows he feels familiar and that there is something about him. It doesn't help that whenever they see each other, there is a spark and a pull toward one another. She just can't work out why this man, with green eyes and dark hair, keeps dominating her dreams.
"What do you feel?" "Like you're the part of me I'm still looking for and can't yet find it"
Vaughan tries to give Kenzi time and space, but he is hurting too. He is frustrated that she doesn't remember him and knows he needs to move on...and does for a little while. But the heart wants what the heart wants. And his heart desperately wants Kenzi to remember how good they were together and the love they shared.
I wanted nothing more than for Kenzi and Vaughan to find their once in a lifetime love again. I needed Kenzi to remember what it felt like to be touched, and to be loved, by Vaughan. And I felt his every emotion when Kenzi couldn't. If I could have reached through my kindle and gave him a hug, I would have. He was the perfect, swoon worthy hero.
Come back to Me worked its way into my little heart and it doesn't seem to want to leave. Hours later, I'm still sitting here thinking about this beautiful story and it's message. That no matter what happens, you never give up or stop fighting for that epic love. That love that steals your breath and gives you butterflies. That love that lasts through every fight and every memory, no matter how big or small.
I liked this book, however, I wanted to like it a bit more than I did. Come back to me tells the story of Vaughn and Kenzi. After a terrible car accident, Kenzi suffers amnesia and forgets all about her relationship with Vaughn.
There were parts of this book that I loved. Kenzi had an instant connection with Vaughn even though she couldn't even remember who he was, she had forgot all about how they met and fell in love. I really enjoyed reading her journal entries as they revealed more about their relationship from before the accident.
It annoyed me how she tried to move on with Alex after losing a year of her life, shouldn't she have tried to figure out her past before getting involved with someone new? And I felt like Vaughn could have fought for her more at the beginning. I understood that they wanted her to remember on her own but I felt sorry for Vaughn that he had to pretend he was no one important to her. When they eventually started "dating" again, the book improved for me.
I think the ending was a bit rushed, all of a sudden she remembered some of her relationship with Vaughn and then it was the end of the book. I think it could have ended better.
The secondary characters were all great, I really liked her brothers, Staci and Maddy. They could have their own books if this was to become a series.
This started out promising ,but then started to slow to a halt at about 44% for me , also kenzie,s best friend maddy really grated on my nerves the way she was trying to get kenzie to date other men when she should have known how deeply in love kenzie was with Vaughan ,regardless if her memory had been wiped of the past year.
It was heart wrenching and beautiful and poignant!
Kenzi and Vaughan are in love and nothing is going to stop them from being together...not her brothers, nothing...until one day the unthinkable happen! With their love a mystery to Kenzi and heart break the only thing left for Vaughan this tale is about a love that is undeniable and all consuming!
Somethings cannot be undone and the love between these two is just that!
I adore everything that comes from Tamsyn Bester - she is brilliant and Come Back To Me is no exception!
I was drawn to this story form the onset and was not disappointed!
This book left me with so many feels and desperate for more!
I loved everything about this book - the way it was written, the build up, the story line and how the chemistry between Vaughan and Kenzi was so real!
A beautifully written love story that tugged at my heartstrings. I felt all the emotions and so glad it ended the way it did. This book comes highly recommended.
Vaughn and Kenzie brought this story to life. Had all the feels. Loved it and would recommend it to all. I am hoping to read more about all the others so many need endings.
This book had been on my tbr for eight years and I finally got it. Too many things didn't align for me to stay interested and not questioning things. It was drug out, not for me.
Come Back to Me is a baeautiful and heartbreaking love story!
Oh my fucking god!! I so fell in love with this book! It is amazing. I’ve read a few chapters and already knew that I loved this book. I was so intrigued by the story and what Van and Kenzi would do that I couldn’t stop reading. I needed such a book. I don’t know if it was just the story or something else but I just fell head over heels in love with Van and Kenzi. They were the perfect couple.
The book is about Van and Kenzi. Both are totally in love with each other but keeping their relationship a secret because of everything around them. But after Kenzi has a car accident and loses her memory and doesn’t know who Van is anymore, everything they had is gone. Nobody tells her what happened and what she can’t remember. But when she meets Van she can feel that something is different with him. Around him she feels safe. But she still doesn’t know anything about her past and Van won’t tell her anything. Reading about them both and their inner turmoil was really heartbreaking. Van still loves Kenzi and Kenzi doesn’t remember anything.
The only thing about this book I didn’t like that much was that like every secondary character got their happy ending in this book. I would have loved the secondary characters and wanted to read more about them. It was just too much un such short time that every character got their happy ending. For me it would have been better if Tamsyn would have written extra books for the secondary characters. This way everything would have been not so rushed and had you would have time to get to know them more and fall in love with them too.
So to say I really loved Come Back to Me and will definitely read more from Tamsyn
According to me this book clearly deserves 4 stars of hoping to come back to us
The story is about the two fated lovers who are attracted to each other to the level of deep down on their first meeting which is one of the most likable scenes for me in this novel. It is a tragedy for the girl, Makenzie to lose her memories through a terrible accident. Now our hero, hot shot and green eyes beauty with chiseled body and soon to be captain of ice hockey team, Vaughn King is devastated because apparently she doesn't remember him anymore.
The journey of this book is sweet, light, gasping, irking, and a HEA. Kenzie is struggling to find a ground of her new reality while Vaughn is floundering in between his past and present. Should he move on when the girl he loves still roams around him, giving him the eye, passing the current around like they both own each other? Should Kenzie give her intuitions a chance? or is it finally a chance to move ahead from her past? Can she do that? Or is it right for both of them to gulp and swallow the accident and pretend that like it never happened before and either decide to stop trying and fighting or just never give up?
It was a constant question for the reader and it wasn't decided until the end of the chapters as to where the story will lead. It was mysterious and funny through a few scenes. The thing which irked me was Kenzie had her world in front of her, yet she lost it and no one could blame her. Only fate and time will tell him and her if they are meant for each other or were they just each other's fling and heat of the moment and nothing more.
Note: I give it a nice read when you're restless and unable to sleep at night. This book will definitely keep you up till the end. It surely didn't let me rest until I was done with it.
The description of this story is vague and that is for very good reason. When you go into this story you know the basics and from there we are taken on a ride of watching one woman fall back in love with the love of her life and I loved every second!
Kenzie was so strong. Even with everything that she lost, she did her hardest to move forward and move on. She was quirky and sweet with a heart of gold and she was easy to relate to. She spent most of the book confused.
My heart broke for Vaughn. He had it just as hard at Kenzi did but in a totally different way. He wanted so bad to be with her but things kept them a part and he was so strong to do what he had to. He really just wanted her happy.
I loved all the secondary characters. Kenzie best friend Madison and all her brothers were great. I really hope we get to see some of them get books in the future. I really liked Staci too. She helped Vaughn in a lot of ways and pushed him to do better.
All the chapter headers are super beautiful! They are a picture of a couple and I tilt that it added to the story and gave us something pretty to look at.
I felt that ending was realllly rushed. It was like Bam and then over. I wish we would have gotten a little more closure but maybe there will be another book? We still don't know what happens with Liam, so I'm holding out hope.
Overall I really enjoyed the story. I didn't like how they stayed apart so long or that Vaughn didn't just go to her and tell her what was up or that her family didn't at least clue her in but I can understand why it went down that way. I will read more from this author and I really hope to see more books evolving around this cast of characters. I know the brother all got their endings pretty much but I want to see how they happened. 4 stars #2OCCJD
This was a really wonderful book that I just loved. Makenzie Davis and Vaughan King have been in a relationship for awhile but they kept it a secret. Kenzi's father is the Coach of the hockey team and her 4 older brothers have always been overprotective. They were ready to start telling people but they found out and started fighting with her over it. She gets so upset and drives away and is hit by a drunk driver. She sustains major head injuries and has to be put in a medically induced coma. When she wakes up she doesn't remember the last year of her life and has no recollection of Vaughan. He's heartbroken but doesn't know what to do about it.
Kenzi's mother died when she was still pretty young. She's pretty much been protected and watched over. She loves her family but her first year of school she met Vaughan and she just wanted to have a relationship without their input. She wakes up from her coma and doesn't remember a whole year of her life. She knows she's missing something big but no one will tell her. She keeps having dreams but she doesn't know who the guy is. She feels there's something she doesn't know about Vaughan but doesn't know what that is.
Vaughan has been known as a player and he hasn't really had many relationships. He was told to stay away from Kenzi with the other hockey players. He loves her so much and didn't want to keep their relationship secret but he did it for her. He grew up with an abusive mother and father that didn't care. He's stayed close to home for his younger brother. He does everything he can for Daniel and wants to take responsibility for him.
