Haunted houses is one of my favorite sub-genre of horror, but it seems that I'm more interested in the fictional side of things. This was very educational, and some stories were exciting, but the writing was bland to me.
This book has 24 stories of haunted homes around America. Some are well-known such as the Lizzie Borden house and the Winchester house, but there were plenty of haunted houses in this book I didn't know about.
Some of the stories in this book were better than others, but overall, I greatly enjoyed reading this and I'll definitely be reading more books by this author.
Unfinishable. What you think you're going to get is 24 spooky stories about 24 spooky houses. perfect for Halloween, right? This book gives you 24 badly written fictionalized takes on "interviews" and accounts. The writing is literally so bad I'm putting this into the shelf of shame.
24 haunted house tales. This book's stories vary from first person narratives to 3rd person. A couple are genuinely spooky. Most are standard fare, ghost stories. Not bad, but not memorable.
