This is a dark tale, violent and threatening on one level but human and understanding at another. The story revolves around a central character who is helpless and unable to control the life-threatening blackness around him, and can only hope to survive into the future with his world intact. It kept me turning the pages to the very end.

Review of Blak Rayne’s Maximum Kill

A spine chilling blend of romance and murder in a realistic love between two men who are opposites. Maximum Kill, Book 2 in the Reaper Series takes off from Kiss the Reaper with a thought provoking look into the relationship between Zeus and Brody. Brody’s image of a bad boy develops more into the good boy, a hero you hope will always be there for Zeus. Evil lurks behind the eyes of the temptress- Maxine. Blak Rayne casts an eerie element of violence and death through Maxine’s eyes, a woman who hates all men, leaving them dead by uncanny methods in her assignments to kill. I shuddered the way she castrated any man with any hint of masculinity. She is unable to love but teases her victims with her sexually appealing lure. Judging from Book 1 I knew I would be unable to put this book down until I read the last word. Blak does not disappoint the reader in this respect. I was drawn into the fabric of the plot and was almost in tears when it came to an end. You are pleased that there is good and love within a man who has been hired to kill for his way of life. It is a different love story that should draw people from all age groups. Blak’s descriptions of the cold, snowbound scenes had me freezing with chills. Add to that the unsuspected suspense and you have a successful story. I give Maximum Kill a well-deserved 5 Stars
