I heard a great deal about him and wanted to try his work. I picked up "Krishnateeram". To be honest, I am disappointed. The book starts with the lives of Brahmin families in Avanigadda. Malladi has depicted the lives of these families excellently with graphic details and authentic descriptions of their ways of living and daily routines. His Telugu Nudikaram is great. This is no surprise as Malladi is a great scholar and understands Telugu Brahmins' lives like the back of his hand.
The story in this novel starts well with some issues in the family of Avadhanulu and Annappa (the protagonist) ventures out to resolve them. It progresses on these lines up to a point and then digresses. We have to assume that he succeeds in his attempt to resolve the misunderstandings between and within the families as his intentions are noble. Not very pleased with the ending of the novel.
Being a scholar, the Telugu language is his great strength, and his expressions and scene descriptions are superb.
Now, i will try his stories.
