Earthlight Volume 2

Rate this book
Earthlight has survived catastrophic accidents, political strife, and clamorous discord. But now the lunar colony faces a deadly threat from the very power satellites that orbit the moon, beaming much-needed energy back to Earth. Terrorists have seized the Power Bases, plunging Earthlight into darkness. Worse, they threaten to burn whole Earth-cities to ashes if their demands aren't met. And for fifteen-year-old Damon Cole, it's a disaster that will strike closer to home than he could have ever imagined.

The Earthlight colony is still trying to find balance and feel safe after it's terrible terrorist takeover that was perpetrated by some of their own, but Damon's father also has to keep the colony from being shut down by Earth. While the grown ups are busy as usual with their jobs and fixing the mess leftover after the takeover; the kids are left with no one. What will happen next? Will the colony stay open? Will the video they kids decide to make about Earthlight help?
This one was a nice carry through from Volume 1, but the ending was great! It left me dying to read the next one!!

After his mother, the former school teacher and closet terrorist from British People’s Anarchist Revolutionary Army, takes over the moon’s power station, Damon finds himself in the middle of a fight for world power.

The graphic novel is like two separate stories combined, it starts off with an action packed adventure and then phases into a social commentary. While the ending couldn’t hold up to the cliffhanger in the first volume, it did make me think.
