In that one moment everything changed. Everything I thought I knew shattered with just a few words. Who knew the truth could be so devastating. I need to decide which side to take. But can I even trust myself?
Xander
She's gone, but I'll scorch the earth to find her if that's what it takes. I'll call upon friend and foe for the battle that is to come. The fires of hell couldn't keep me from her and whoever thinks they can take what is mine, is going to regret it for all time.
One thing is for sure. The Crash could ruin us all.
Sloane Murphy is a writer, dreamer, fur mom and crime documentary addict who has developed an unhealthy appreciation for cheesy YA Films, cupcakes and bad pop music. She adores fairy tales, ballet and all things supernatural, drinks far too much coffee, and watches an ungodly amount of Netflix.
She loves to write dark, paranormal/fantasy romance and characters who will shatter your heart. Characters who enjoy stomping on the pieces and then laugh before putting you back together again. And she definitely doesn't enjoy readers tears. Nope. Not even a little. If you want to keep up to date with all things Sloane, including where her next book is out, please join her mailing list. Story can be tone down a little. Words sometimes are tweaked and out of context. Characters are jumbling in mind, you might asked who is talking? And the one thing I hate in a story, the phrase "to be continue"...
2 stars for now, the story is powerful but sometimes too much of a something sometimes tend to go down. Too much revelation in a basket is overwhelming. And sometimes simplicity is needed in a jumpack story like this one.
Reviewed this one while standing in a bus full of people, you know my world is literally rocking... (•‿•)
The third book was suttle in the beginning, whew, to be continue... ,😀🤞
I've been dying to read this ever since I finished Decent. When I finally got my hands on it, I was like a kid in a candy store. I went mental.
I'm not a big paranormal fan, personally, I've read the Twilight saga, JL Becks Project series, some Jessica Sorenson and my latest obsession is Sloane's world. This series and author is in like, my top 3 all time fave paranormal authors/books. That alone speaks volumes. If you're a paranormal fan, please read it. I promise you, you'll love it and I'll be right here to hold your hand along the way.
There will be moments in which you laugh out loud, swoon, scream, cry and maybe even throw your Kindle or e-reader or whatever you read on across the room.
Just know that X is mine. That is all.

*ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review*
I really enjoyed the first book, but this one I LOVED!!
BUT... Murphy... you destroyed me hahaha! I've got straight onto Soar that released yesterday, but had to write this review before I carried on so I didn't forget anything I wanted to say.
I love the concept of this book, I love all of the characters (except Cole and that lot for obvious reasons), and I have a love/hate relationship with the plot twist at the end haha! Although it gutted me, I think Murphy has done it for a reason. There's always a reason! There HAS to be hahaha! (please be a reason)
I had no idea what was going to happen with the Aaveen/Addie scenario and I was literally hooked, up reading until four in the morning because I just couldn't put it down!
I started Crash straight after finishing Descent and I am so glad I did. I loved jumping straight back into the story and losing myself among the fae, fallen, demons and wolves. This book is intoxicating, you will be seduced by the strong, kick a$$ characters and the story their paths weave, you will be hooked within the first few pages, actually for me it was words, the first few words and will willingly let the world around you fall away and cease to exist.
War never looked so delicious, especially when the rescue team is lead by Xander AND Kaden! I mean you have every one else too; Kas, Dimitri, Benny, Michael, Celeste, Rose (and probably more I am forgetting!). I think I would be willing to follow Xander and Kaden just about any where. I can not write a review and not mention Addie. That girl has bigger lady testicles than a lot of characters I have read. I adore her and I can't wait to see how she grows in Soar. (Only 7 days to wait!) #excited #countingthosedays
I am glad I went back to my paranormal roots and I am glad these books we recommended to me. I really have fallen in love with the story I have read so far and look forward to March 7th and Soar. Sloane is such an amazing writer and her words are so, SO easy to devour and fall in love with. The world she has created is simple exquisite and every minute spent in her world is one you will be grateful to never get back!
If you are a fan of paranormal books, epic love stories or just a really amazing story... Do yourself a favour and one click these books now!
I can't get enough of this book series!! It's so AMAZING!! Addie is a strong girl for having to go through the stuff she went through.. on to book three for me!!!
4 stars!! Another cliffhanger has me going crazy!! I really enjoy this series! Somehow my review got lost so here it is late and all.
This is NOT a stand alone and therefore be sure to read "Descent" before reading this or you will be lost.
So the first book I hated Kaden's guts and coming into this book I still was not feeling him but I do want to say that ass is slowly growing on me.
Addie is one stubborn, independent, strong woman!! But the hell she is about to endure will take the strength of many men. But I will say I was impressed with her this book.
Oh my sweet Xander. I have loved him always. You know if Addie is in trouble, Xander will be right there.
Cole is a P.O.S. That's all I have to say!!
This book started a little slow for me but as the book progressed I was hooked. There were a lot of twists and turns I did not see coming. And I liked that this book didn't take place in a training area. The end though...omg I am dying over here. I am in need of the next book right now. This book is a perfect example of a great paranormal book. It had a little bit of everything.
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
Fangers, Fae and The Fallen Part II. This IS the story behind the end of humankind.
I was among those lucky enough to receive an ARC of Crash, Sloane Murphy’s 2nd book in the Immortal Chronicles series as part of the Blind Date with a Quirky Bibliophile’s reading program, in exchange of an honest review.
As I read through the first book, Descent, ideas surrounding Addie’s parental background started to surface, but it was the final sentence of Descent that threw me for a loop – the identity of her father. In Crash, questions that I had started to wonder about in Descent are answered: Who ARE Addie’s parents, what caused the outbreak to almost end humankind, who are the fallen and what is the relationship between Xander and Kaden, who originally kidnapped Addie in Descent and then let her go? Please note – YOU HAVE TO READ DESCENT BEFORE READING CRASH.
I loved the way that Addie attracted loyalty in characters who considered themselves to be beyond redemption, and encouraged strength in those who considered themselves weak. But, in Crash, make no bones about it, it is a darker, sadder and more tormented book than Descent. Her father, now identified, uses others to inflict the most awful torture upon Addie in an effort to reveal her true self, her identity magically bound and hidden, even from herself, by her mother in an effort to protect Addie herself, and, ultimately save the world from the holocaust she is about to cause in stories foretold by prophets. She is the one.
Former enemies will join sides in an effort to save Addie from the hands of the man, her father, who wants vengeance heaped upon the Fae, who he sees as having betrayed his kind after The Falling.
Sloane Murphy puts together an amazing universe in The Immortal Chronicles about Angels, Demons and Human history, and, there are a lot of characters to stay in touch with, Even more questions are raised. I quickly revised Descent before getting into Crash, which helped me stay on top of the different POV between the various key characters. By now, I’m almost over my aversion to cliffhanger type serial books, nah not really, but I now know that if I hadn’t gone into this series blind, I wouldn’t have given it a go, and, I would’ve missed out on one hell of a great paranormal story. Can’t wait for part three entitled ‘Soar’.
If you love, Vampyrs, Angels and Humans, but hate cliffhanger series, I still highly recommend Sloane’s Immortal Chronicle series. Afterall, there’s only one more book to go……….
The world created by Sloane and the sub plots within the plots are genius. Truly this writer and her twisted mind are amongst my favourites and I'm so excited to see what she unleashes next as I don't think we have seen her at full capacity, that excites me no end !
I called this a series to rival others when I reviewed Descent and I'm standing by that with the follow up that is Crash !! This series should have exposure and I truly believe it would rival others that have come before and is fast making its way to the top of my paranormal ladder !
Crash starts directly as Descent finished and questions hanging in the air from book one, which I had plenty, get expertly answered as the arc continues whilst also triggering twenty more. The reasoning behind the fallen, the outbreak, the war, who Addie is.
Addie remains her super sassy self with a little extra oomph, and whilst I'm a loyal follower of Team Xander I'm slowly falling for Logan and Dimitri !
Oh my this book is as simple as it is complex, it is intriguing and a complete page turner, never wanting it to truly reach a conclusion and not the one it did !! I had tears and my heart hurt !!
Soar needs to be finalised and in my hand ! Waiting forever impatiently
Crash is the 2nd in the Immortal Chronicles Series and if you have not read Sloane Murphy's first book Descent.....then you MUST before you even attempt to read this one. The cliffhanger at the end of book one is where this book picks up from.
I will give away no spoilers for this book, it MUST be read to be believed. Sloane Murphy has once again written a story that the reader can really sink their teeth into. This book will give you some insight into Addy's background. The reader will learn what became of her parents and why. But mostly we learn what wonderful friends Addy has made through the Academy and why they are so willing to fight for her. The strength, love and friendship only grows tronger as the story progresses.
Sloane Murphy answers some of the questions asked during book one but she also throws out some more. There are so many twists and turns in this story that it keeps you gripped and sitting on the edge of your seat throughout the entire content. It's hard to believe that this is only Ms Murphy's second book. I cannot wait until I can get my hands on the next one in this series. What other twists are going to be added to this absolutely brilliant plot?
This series is definitely a must for any fan of the Paranormal Genre.
FIVE STARS definitely...I wish it could be more.
Voluntarily reviewed for Reading Is Our Satisfaction Blog.
I was lucky enough to receive this as an arc, I absolutely love descent (book 1 of immortals) If you haven't read descent then you have to read book one first.
Addie is a girl that grew up with out her parents she has learned everything that she knows from her friends and her school.
Where book one finished crashed carrys on, there is so much I could write but it would give the story away and I hate reading reviews that have spoilers so I won't. Lest just say that the way this book is written is absolutely brilliant it flows through the whole book. In this one we get to know what happened to addies parents and why (yes I know vague) we see how this group of friends grow and become stronger.
I have laughed I have cried I have called sloan for everything in my head, that being said I love it so much. I can't wait for book 3 to come out. I absolutely love addie and xander and this story is how love not just from a partner but from friends can guide you and help you.
There isn't much more I can say with out giving the whole book away apart from that at no point did I not understand what the characters were talking about.
Crash by Sloane Murphy is the continuation of Descent and picks up immediately after the end of Descent. This book was just as intriguing as Descent was, I couldn’t put it down once I started it. I had this book finished in less than two days. In this book there is even more conflict as we learn more about Addie’s birth and destiny. Xander is trying hard to find Addie and rescue her from the Demon Cole before Cole can turn Addie to his side. Addie struggles with the information she has learned from Cole and the power she feels growing inside of her. We also delve more into the history of how the world came to be as it is as everyone gears up for the evitable battle that is still to come. There are some twists in this story that I did not foresee which makes for an interesting plot twist. I love when an author throws something unexpected at me in a series. It makes the story much more fun to read. I love that this series doesn’t seem to be following any kind of formula that a lot of stories seem to follow anymore. Crash is available now so go ahead and pick yours up. The series will continue in the early part of 2017 (hopefully sooner rather than later….hint, hint, hint)
Crash- The Immortal Chronicles #2, is packed with action, fantasy, blood, love and so much more. It held my attention from chapter to chapter.
I really enjoyed this book, which is number 2 in the series. The author wrote an easy to read story, without confusing the reader with paranormal jargon.
This book continues from the first, where Addie has been captured by Cole. Between Cole and the Demons, they attempt to destroy Addie, so that they can have power like never before. Power that includes destroying Xander, Dimotri and other important people in Addies life. Olivia and Logan, who were the leads in book 1, are still very much in this story except they take more of a backseat to the characters of Olivia and Cole. I didn't really like Olivia, or Livvy as she's often referred to as in book 1, but I dislike her even more in this story. She really gets under my skin. This is testament to the talent of the author, Slone Murphy, to write such emotive characters. Logan and Kas are still a mystery to me, even after finishing book 2.
This book and series is a must read for any paranormal fan and I highly recommend it.
Shattered, Merged, Broken This is the second book of this paranormal series and you have to read Descent (The Immortal Chronicles #1), before reading this. This book is a continuation from the major cliffhanger that this amazing author, Sloane Murphy, left us shocked, stunned, and speechless with. As some mysteries at the end of the first were answered, new ones came to be! Including a huge doozy! I will warn you, this ends with another, and I can't wait to read the third book! If you want fast-paced, action-packed, twists & turns, love, and emotions all over...read this book or books! This picks up where Book #2 picks up. We get flashbacks from the past, on how some things came to be. I thought that was cool. Addie was taken and they are trying to break her. She doesn't know what's true or not, but they do want something! Xander is searching, with Demetri and others, to find his love, Addie. He's searching & will search forever. There's a few glitches with that... Will she still be the same woman she was when or if he finds her? If she believes others, will she still want him? Will the world itself be the same, since the demons are becoming more powerful?

Addie and Xander continue down the slipper slope of deceit, lies, and sacrifice. There are fine lines being drawn amongst the mortals, immortals, angelic and demonic. Xander's need to save Addie only further complicated as the truth about Addie's bloodlines come to fruition. A truth hidden from Addie as well.
Sloane Murphy continues to unravel the lost worlds and power struggles between the multiple layers of destruction threatening the Crash. Murphy continues to develop the dynamic heroine of Addie as she unfolds her past in order to provide the dramatic irony of of her plight. Xander, as always continues to be the leader and warrior in hot pursuit to save Addie from the ills of her captures. Murphy takes the reader to the brink and again leaves her audience in search of the ultimate battle. Looking forward to the third installment of The Immortal Chronicles.
This book blew me away! I loved the story line, the characters, the varying points of view throughout the book. It was great and I highly recommend it!
One of the most important things to me in a book is making sure the characters are well developed and you can form a connection to them. Sloane Murphy does a fantastic job with this. She has created so many interesting characters within this series. That's why I love the various points of view, you can really connect with them :)
The story was excellent. I had it finished within a few hours. It was addicting and the end left me wanting so much more (Darn those cliffhangers ;) This series has me hooked and I cannot wait for more!
I don't want to give away any of the plot so I will leave it at that. Just know this book was amazing!
Crash: The Immortal Chronicles Book 2 Written By Sloane Murphy Genre: YA Paranormal
This was a continuation from Decent and Ms. Murphy picks up right where we were left off in the first book. I felt that this book was MUCH better than the first (and I enjoyed the first one). The Story is very engaging, fast paced, and was a very quick read for me. I was able to get through the book quickly and be warned this too ends with a cliffhanger. I can’t WAIT for book 3 to find out what all happens with these characters. The Story development was good, it flowed well and the characters (for their ages) were for the most part relatable. The editing was much better this go around and I really look forward to book 3 and seeing what all is going to happen. Ms Murphy is going places with her writing! This is a must read series!
Crash picks up where book one, Descent ended, and is not a standalone.
Once again, Sloane Murphy has done an amazing job of characterization. Addie is an amazing and strong young woman being faced with the unthinkable in this book and fights to maintain her true self. Aeveen is an unexpected twist and an interesting character fighting to understand who she is and where she fits in the world.
Brothers Xander and Kaden must put aside their differences to fight for the woman they have both fallen in love with, against not only the evil forces that have taken her, but her other half as well.
Crash is a thrilling ride with lots of adventure and unexpected plot twists and turns. I can't wait to see what happens next in Soar!
After reading book 1 i waited not so patiently for this book and damn was it worth the wait. This is book 2 and follows on directly from where Descent left off. The questions i had going into this were endless....what exactly is Addie? What does Cole want with her? Will Xander get to her in time? And more importantly will Addie still be the fiery, sassy person ive come to know and love at the end of it all? Luckily for me all my questions were answered.........but that end omg that end, my poor heart was in my mouth!!!
This series just grows from strength to strength and i for one cant wait to see what twists Sloane will throw my way next.......until then ill once again be over here waiting impatiently for the next book in what is shaping up to be one of my fave paranormal series ever!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I thought this was a great second book in the series. We got a lot of answers, and yet we still need some things answered, which leads to yet another cliffie... And I'll live til it gets here, but I'll need all the answers!
I like the blend of Vampyres, Fae, humans, and wolves. I love Addie's story, but Aeveen scares me, and I need to know what happens with Xander and Kaden.
This book had a lot of backstory, and lots of POVs. I felt like the ending rushed a little compared to how things were drawn out a little in the middle, so I have questions about what the heck happened. I'm hoping the next book gets us some explanation.
Crash is Book 2 of The Immortals. You have to read Descent book one first. Looks like the past is going to have a repeat because there's a war brewing. Packs will be made in order to help save Addie. Addie's journey continues and she comes to find out who she is. The question is will she give in to her demon(s)?
I took my time reading this book because I didn't want it to end. Thank goodness there's a book 3, I can't wait for it to come out. I love this series so far.
I have to admit as soon as I read the name Xander I got annoyed at the guy again. Residual feelings from the first book came rushing back and I am so glad Sloane jumped straight back in.
But then I stormed through the book and got to the end and no. No, no, no. I can't, Sloane has wrung my emotions dry. Sheer brilliance in the way she has written this and then the ending?! Wow
Soar (#3) needs to hit my Kindle yesterday because I genuinely feel like I couldn't breath without the rest of this tale.
2nd instalment takes up right where Descent ended. Addie’s is still reeling from the betrayal of her friends and her confusing feelings towards Xander. We find out more about Addies background, including her birth and her parents and the struggle she has with her powers.
Xander has a time of it trying to save Addie before Cole can influence her to the "dark side"!
There are many twists, turns and spanners in my well planned thoughts on how this book was going to end! I need part 3 now!!!
I love this series! Sloan Murphy was a new to me author when I received a copy of Descent (Book #1 of the series) as a blind date book! I was hooked then! You should read Descent first so you know what is going on. This book starts right where the last ended. This would be a good read for anyone who likes YA paranormal, yes there is romance involved but nothing too bad :-) I'd say this is suitable for anyone 15+. I can not wait to read the 3rd one!
Sloane is a friend of mine who actually reached out to me and Hayley to review her books for our podcast. That being said I am blown away by her writing and characters. Murphy really developed her story before publishing, which is something I really admire. This series doesn't seem haphazard or thrown together. I also think that this story would really hold its own going against any best selling book.
This is book 2 in this tale and I'm left hanging again just when my heart was racing.... This is mainly Adelaide (Addie's) story, where is she? Who is she really? Will she survive? and WHAT is she? Torture, murder, kidnapping and betrayal make for an intense story. A great YA paranormal tale and I highly recommend it, but read book 1 first.
Crash is the second book in the Immortal Chronicles series. In this book our characters are out to save their friend Addie from her demonic father Cole. Addie and Xander are fabulous characters. This story has friendship, torture, and heartache which makes for great reading. I look forward to book three.
