I really enjoyed this mystery thriller. When Megan Calloway's grandma passes away, Megan is headed to Salem to say good-bye to the grandmother who was so special to her. When she arrives, Megan finds more is going on than meets the eye and she is suddenly in the middle of a mystery. One that could be very dangerous. Luckily for Megan she meets Jake Durant and a couple of special neighbors to help her try and solve the mystery before someone gets hurt.

I totally fell in love with this book and the characters that are between the pages. The start is sad and brings a tear to your eye, it doesn’t take long for the danger to come with noises in the dark, accidents that happen it makes you start to believe in ghost. There is rumor of a treasure to be found inside the walls of this old house. It seems someone is willing to kill to get it. As the author took me on a journey of danger I found myself holding my breath and at one time my phone rang I about jumped out of my skin. The plot thickens more characters are added to it making you wonder who could be behind it all. I kept guessing what the treasure was but I couldn’t have been more wrong. It is a delightful listen that held my attention and captive me from the start.
I have not listened to anything by this narrator I thought she did a great job, loved her character voices and the emotion she gives them. Her normal voice is pleasant as well as each character she brings to life. She truly made me believe in the danger, excitement, and even gave me a few chills. The audio was clear, no background noises, there were two places words were repeated, I think that is when she took a break. It did not take away from the audio at all, and she had no trouble pulling me back in. There was one male character I wasn’t too crazy about his voice but I did grow to love it as the story went long. The rest of them I loved from the start, she really put emoition into the characters, pausing when she needed to. Her tones were right even her old voices were delightful. I had no trouble believing what I was listening to. I thought her performance was outstanding.
I loved the twists and turns the author gives us, she had me fooled almost until the end. There were things I didn’t see coming and a lot of surprises that were exciting, thrilling and dangerous. In all honesty the author had me in the palm of her hand almost from the first page. I loved how she captive my attention and held it. I really didn’t want the story to end. A very believable and honest story that pulls you in making you believe what you are listening to. I just could not put it down and listened to this almost at one setting. I loved the characters and the romance between the two main ones. The cat is adorable and I do feel it is there for a reason. The mystery grabs you and keep a hold of you throughout the story. It truly was a delightful listen I can’t wait to listen to more of this author work.

Megan has returned to Salem to bury her grandmother and take care of her estate. She plans to return to NY and her art gallery in a couple of weeks. That all derails when strange noises & unlocked doors leads her to agree with her grandmother's bff, that someone is searching for something and murdered her gmother. A chance incident leads her to Jake...and the immediate attraction. The pair became inseparable and begin to investigate the strange occurrences. When Jake interrupts a burglar in the attic, grandmother's bff is murdered and the neighbor is assaulted, the duo intensify their search. Why would someone kill Megan's grandmother and her friend? Is it the land developer, who wants to buy the historic house or is it something more sinister? If you are looking for a fast paced romantic suspense, you are in for a treat with this book. There are some smexy times but nothing too over the top. Kept me guessing until the end. Great HEA!

Good Mystery
I felt like it was written with a definite deadline in mind. I think that
The story could have been longer. It felt rushed.
It was a good story, just an old storyline. I am sure that the author will write more in depth stories as she goes on with her career.
I did enjoy reading it.

Charming mystery with romance too! I really loved the characters and the story. There was so much detail I could really picture each scene, but the action was fast paced and kept the story moving. I highly recommend.

Audible:I thoroughly enjoyed this book!It had some fantastical elements...like falling in love etc in a week or so.Are there ghosts in the house?Did somoone kill Corey?Through history and detective work it all comes down to one night! Eliza Wethers was a fine narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

Having been in Salem on Halloween Day, I really liked this book. It was true to fact about all the celebrating on Halloween Day and I loved the drama. I would not have guessed the guilty party and I'll bet you won't either. Give it a read. It's a good book.

This was a darling little mystery, an easy read all in all. The underlying romance should have been a little less descriptive, for the younger reader tho'.

I received this book as a goodreads Giveaway.
The premise of the book is good. I love everything Irish so I was looking forward to reading this book. A Claddagh ring, a mystery, riddles and clues. Sounds great.
Within the first 100 pages, the word emerald had been used 10 times. You know when something jumps out at you and then you just keep seeing it and can't concentrate because it keeps staring at you? That's what the word emerald was doing. Very distracting. I get that Ireland is also known as the Emerald Isle, but still. It was severely overused.
Megan lives in New York. Her only living relative is her grandmother, who while they're talking on the phone, says she hears something, hangs up and ends up dead.
When Megan gets to her grandmothers house after she finds out about her death, I dunno, I would personally walk through the house and make sure everything is okay. Especially since my grandmother had said she was hearing things in the attic. What if there were racoons or something? But no, she doesn't go through the house and even after she finds out someone has been in the house, she doesn't change the locks. -_-
Anyway.
She goes to the lawyers and finds out she is left a Claddagh ring from her grandmothers will. She puts it on and leaves. A man saves her life by pushing her out of the way from a car that is aimed for her and they fall in love immediately. Within 3 days, they are planning their wedding. I can't handle books like this. gah. I enjoy Gothic Romances, and this would have been the perfect moment to introduce a possible love interest who could be the bad guy. Not saying this is a Gothic Romance, but it could have an interesting twist of questioning whether he's the good guy or not. Instead, they go on a boat cruise together, kiss, he sticks his hand down her shirt and they profess their love for each other forever.
He basically moves in and one night they hear something from the attic, again. He pulls out a gun to go investigate. Shots are fired and he says, We can call the cops in the morning. Seriously? You have no idea who is in your attic, shots where fired and you want to wait? What if the shooter goes into someone else's house or shoots someone that night. No worries, the cops can follow the clues in the morning.
I understand that you can meet someone and instantly click with them. Doesn't mean you should marry them. Or open your life wide open to them. Especially when you think your grandmother has been murdered and you don't know who is rummaging around in your attic!
Further on in the book, they go chat with Jane, who you would maybe guess she could be the troublemaker, but you don't know for sure...well, you end up getting a huge hint that she is the bad girl when she's explaining something and then, in italics, thinks, "the police would find this out anyway." That could have been left out. Leave us some mystery.
There's another intrusion that trashes the whole house that they don't report. Lots of discussion about their future, which I just have such a hard time with. They've never even met each others friends and family (his, since hers are all dead).
The ending isn't too bad, besides the fact that they had met each other a week or so previous and get married.
I've given this book 2 stars because I like the idea behind it and the writing isn't that bad. The plot just needs lots of work.

This is a very nice read because of the excellent writing, the unusual story and a satisfying flow of events. It keeps you wondering who the villain could be and in the end when all is resolved, the protagonists win on several levels. Small size book which makes it ideal to toss into the purse and always carry along for a quick page read wherever away from home. Always be ready to read and make the moments valuable! This book offers quality writing to do that.
