Well, Juliet, you certainly made living in Paris a lot more interesting. I’ll have some ‘splaining to do when I’ll drive around accompanied and I’ll suddenly start cackling like a mad hyena. Thanks for that.

But let’s get back to the book.

I think I’ve stated well enough what I think about this series in my review of Wrapped which you can find HERE.

It’s well written, the story is captivating and very intense, the characters are well developed, mature, fascinating, easy to love and just as easy to connect with.

Another interesting fact about this series is the manner in which the author described the locations. First New York City and, in Knotted, Paris. While reading, it feels like you’re actually there. You see and hear and smell the exact things, you walk the same streets and feel the peace and tranquility of Paris with its beautiful gardens and romantic ambiance. Brilliant.

In Weakened and Wrapped we see Drew and Maxine meet and fall in love. Now, they’re ready to take the next step.

There are still things, events from their pasts that are not quite settled yet and they’ll have to face them in order to step toward the future without a worry.

Drew is the same sweet, protective and powerful man Maxine has fallen in love with. His presence is overwhelming sometimes because he has this way of inspiring confidence and strength with just one look or one touch.

I’ll admit, I shivered right alongside Maxine more than once “under” Drew’s capable hands. The man is a danger for any woman’s heart, I tell you.

Then, there’s Maxine. Strong, confident, a little bit hurt and a little bit carefree Maxine who has the power to turn her lover inside out with just one touch.

And she’s a mess. In the good way. Poor, poor Drew. LOL.

She’s, maybe, the only one who can bring out Drew’s childish, more carefree side because, with her, he doesn’t have to pretend. Nor her with him.

They’re passionate and wild and, together, they burn like the brightest star. The connection they share is so very strong and runs so deep that there’s no Penelope without Kind Sir, and no Kind Sir without Penelope. Truly awe inspiring.

It doesn’t mean that they’re perfect. Far from it. But all the flaws and all the qualities make them so lovable, so … real, and make the Manhattan Bound Series a must read.

I don’t know what else to say.

It’s amazing how much certain novels make you feel and how easy it is to lose yourself between the pages of the book to the point that you completely lose contact with reality.

You’ve never felt that before? In this case, you haven’t read the right books.

And, since I raved about the emotional side of the story, let me tell you about the sexier one.
Holy freakin’ always horny Maxine, Batman! This girl needs to be kept under the cold shower all the damn time. Oh my God, what she can come up with…

Miss Braddock, you owe me a Victoria’s Secret gift card and a check for my water and electricity bill. Just sayin’.

God, woman. You’re wicked! Love it! *wide grin*

And I think I’ve kept you here long enough. Go ahead and start reading. What are you waiting for?

Don’t forget to start with Weakened since Knotted is definitely NOT a stand alone.

Five more than deserved stars.

Happy Reading!!

P.S. – Uncle Benjy is still MINE! Back off.

After reading books 1 and 2, I have been sitting her patiently waiting on book 3. Not really… I might or might not have any fingernails left. I really liked books 1 and 2 BUT book 3 is my FAVORITE and I am in LOVE!!! If you haven’t met Drew and Maxine and their crew then what in the hell are you waiting for. This book is packed from start to finish. Some things I never saw coming. This book is HOT, it will make you laugh, cry, it’s HOT, you will scream, yell, sit on the edge of your seat gripping the sides to just to hold on, and did I mention is HOT!!!

It’s really hard to write this review because I don’t want to give away spoilers. But Drew and Maxine are now in a fully committed relationship with each other. They are ready to take the next step in life but Maxine’s past is still haunting her in ways that she next thought. This part right here ripped my heart out so many times. It was so hard to see Maxine break down like she did and I wanted to crawl through my kindle and rock her back and forth and cry with her. But my man Drew was there every step of the way.

After a beautiful wedding and of course a little drama in-between, Maxine and Drew set off for their honeymoon. Just be ready cause some of the scenes in this book might literally make your kindles melt they are that HOT. Whew I had to fan myself quite a few times. But is everything perfect for Drew and Maxine or is there something else waiting to destroy them? This is where I have to tell you to READ THIS BOOK!!! I can’t explain anymore because everyone should experience part of this book without spoilers. Be ready though because not only has Maxine and Drew stole my heart but the secondary characters in this book have too. That’s one of my favorite parts about this book is the secondary characters and how amazing they are and how much their stories play into the book. Thank you Juliet for writing such an amazing book… I can’t wait for the fourth!!

The third book in Julia Braddock's Manhattan Bound series is KNOTTED. We've reviewed the first two books of the series in previous posts and when given the opportunity to read book 3, I jumped to take it.

The story of Maxine and Drew continues with the fanfare of planning their wedding, the wedding itself and its aftermath. As with previous books, there's tons of humor, emotion, and lots of sex. Just what we like to see!

I've always been a believer that BDSM practices are not about the dark sides of people's psyche but instead are fun, hence the term "play." KNOTTED reinforces this belief by giving us two characters who are in love and like to have fun in the bedroom. This is exactly how I envision that scenario.

There's revisits of several supporting characters from the first two books but there are plenty of explanations so if you haven't read books 1 and 2, you can read book 3 without a scorecard. However, I do recommend that you read the first two books simply to be able to experience this lovely story.

There are some carryovers of subplots from the previous installments but they don't overpower the story. My favorite supporting character was was a toss up between Maxine's best friend Ben, Drew's Aunt Frannie, and Drew's brother Adam. All are hilariously funny and total eccentrics with laugh out loud antics.

Probably the only thing that I had concern about was that this book is much longer than the first two. There is quite a bit of story to tell and Juliet Braddock tells it well, painting each scene so that we can just "see" what's going on in the scene as we read. That's no small feat for any author. However, readers who aren't into reading longer books with description might find the book a bit much.

I highly recommend KNOTTED. It is a great book to immerse yourself in and have some fun.

Within the past week I have read all three books to this series and to say I love them is an understatement! All three books were great on their own but this book was outstanding and amazing! Before starting this series, I have never read anything by Juliet Braddock but I will be in the future! She is now on my favorite author list.

There were a lot of uprises in this book that I didn't see coming. Knotted had me on my knees and wet! Yes .... it was hot and steamy! The entire time I was reading, I was wishing I was in Maxines shoes whether she was being tied up or whipped or whatever other sexual act was going on. I also wanted to explore all these places they had sex. Now I want to go out and find my own spot to explore! If you like BSDM book, then this is the book for you!

Omg Drew and Maxine just keep dragging me in with their romance and their love towards one another! Even with Drew' dominant side, he is without a doubt a great guy. Through Maxines breakdown, he was there to help her get through everything. Maxine has come along way with her haunting past, but she still has her moments like the one in this book that ripped my heart out right along with her.

This series is absolutely amazing and I cannot thank Juliet enough for creating a world and characters that I fell in love with. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Exquisite. Tantalising. Brilliant. Steamy.

Maxine and Drew's journey together continues in an amazingly written way. We get to see there relationship grow and blossom together after the challenges they faced previously: Maxine in 'Weakened' and Drew in 'Wrapped'. This is their time to shine and shine they do as their emotional and sexual journey continues. We see Maxine come alive under Drew's ministrations and we equally see Drew come alive under Maxine's ministrations.

While it is not all plain sailing for these two, they are stronger together. I am so in love with these two amazing characters that it is going to take a while to take a while to get over them. I equally love the supporting cast of characters that help make this such a complete world. I love the time Juliet Braddock took in taking us on Maxine's and Drew's relationship journey and how she immersed me completely in their story. I love this story full stop.

I so loved Max and Drew's story. In the previous books they have been working through their wounds from the past and in this part of their story they are beginning their future. They have moved in together and planning a wedding which has a few bumps along the way. Drew is a delicious bossy man that tempers it all with such sweetness. I loved sassy Max who just brightens the world around her. I absolutely loved the family and friends surrounding them. What a wonderful friend Max has in Ben. I adore him. He made me laugh out loud throughout. I also loved that Adam and Jillie have found happiness with each other. Adam too made me laugh. Max and Drew are scorching hot together and share some seriously steamy moments that will have you fanning yourself. I so enjoyed their story.

I give Knotted 5 hearts!

Another book delivered by the talented Juliet Braddock.

In Weakened and Wrapped, we got to see Drew and Maxine’s first encounter, watched them fall in love and build a relationship based on sincerity, respect, trust and love. From two complete strangers to soul-mates, they overcame many obstacles.

“In Maxine, Drew had finally found everything he needed. So lonely with such a generous heart, she have not only Drew but to everyone around her.”

Now, they are about to take the final step, that of becoming husband and wife.

“Oh, she cherished nothing more than that man standing before her. There was absolutely nothing she couldn’t accomplish or conquer with Drew at her side. She loved him – needed him – without a single condition, even throughout their most anguishing moments.”

In Knotted, things change. From New York to Paris, the author depicts scenes that give us a glimpse of the amazing architecture and the different lifestyles.

Though their pasts don’t stop interfering with their newfound happiness, their connection is stronger than ever.

“All of the anxiety he’s been shouldering for months dissipated into the vibrant Paris night. Systematically, he shoved all thoughts of any threats to the side for just a single moment. For the first time in his life, Drew felt overwhelmed by his own happiness. He’d never dared to indulge in such joy before, and this new feeling of bliss was as spectacular as it was intimidating. He’d married the love of his life.”

The thing I liked most about this series is that, although the relationship between characters grows every day, they do not change. Drew is the same dominant man who, at the same time, is a hopeless romantic and Maxine is the woman who can undo his resolve in just a matter of seconds. The same thing about the other characters -- they are one big family who help and support each other each step of the way.

The writing is flawless. I had the impression I was visiting the City of Lights right alongside them. Without a single doubt, this is one of the best series I have read so far. I cannot wait for the next book!

“It was that feverish build that they both indulged upon-that climb, together, that pelleted them on toward satisfaction, giving her more than she ever thought possible.”

5 sexy knotted stars!!! This series doesn’t disappoint. It’s sexy in all the right places and surprising in all the others!!! Such a fantastic book!!

description

Heartache and passion….
Maxine and Drew continue to fight their pasts even as their relationship continues to strengthen. This is the third in the Manhattan Bound series and my favourite so far. The main characters, as well as their supportive family and friends, are thrown into a whirlwind of highs and lows once again…
Submission and control, and love, continue to be a strong element in Maxine and Drew’s relationship. There is love and lust as they explore their desires for each other in the bedroom, the dungeon and beyond. While the sexual tension burns hot and wild, the emotional entanglements are a huge part of their relationship as well. Maxine has struggled in her grief and continues to gain her strength, both physically and emotionally. Drew is riding high in his personal and professional life so when he is blind-sided by long-hidden fears and secrets, the results are devastating.
As usual, though, Maxine and Drew are surrounded by family and friends who provide all that they could need or want in the support and love department. Ben and Adam are funny and sweet and everything one could want in a best friend and brother.
These stories are not short novellas, they are long and full of ups and downs all the way through. While at times I found myself rolling my eyes at their constant use of particular pet names (again) their love and commitment to each other shines brightly through. Entertaining and emotional, this was a great addition to the series. With more to come!

A beautiful weekend for a wedding, a happy couple and an extended honeymoon to Paris. What else could a girl ask for? Nothing but happiness and bliss. If any couple can achieve this, it should be Drew and Maxine. They've been through so much. Drew facing the fact that he indulges in a not so normal lifestyle and falling in love with a virgin, wondering if she would kick him to the curb? Maxine and her relapsing into her eating disorder, knowing that Drew didn't sign on for that? Ben, her adorable gay best-friend; although he should be bonus point to both sides! And of course Drew's early childhood demons, when he really thought that Maxine would leave? She just didn't have it in her heart to turn her back on him when those things happened to him and it wasn't his fault. Even though everything seems perfect now and time has no meaning on their honeymoon, in order to remain that wonderful loving couple they set out to be, they need to make sure that the door is firmly shut on the past. The past always has a way of creeping into the present if there is a slight crack in the door, as the Newlywed McKenzie's will soon find out.

I was excited to read this because its a series. It gives me the opportunity to really step into the lives of these characters and get to know them, however this book is simply to close to the plot of Fifty Shades of Grey. Although the characters are different in what they do, the setting and the surrounding characters, the plot is very much alike to FSOG in that the main character has many deep dark secrets that no one talks about and the female lead is insecure flawed and thinks she is ant good enough. Sound like anyone we know?? The only thing that was new in this book was the emergence of an eating disorder for the main character in which I think was glossed over. The author wrote it like once going to the therapist cured her and they never talk about it again. I think this is a great disservice to anyone suffering with an eating disorder.
I am waiting patiently for the fourth book in this series just to see what the author does when she has no playbook or guide in E.L James to show her the way. I believe that she is going to tie this up in a neat little Happily Ever After Bow just like FSOG.

Knotted is the third book in the Manhattan Bound Series. And I have mixed feelings still with this book. The plot is good and the character development is still excellent. But this was a slow read for me. I had trouble just sitting down and reading it straight tgrough I had to stop and start it a lot. It did however have it's moments where I couldn't stop reading it! I think sometimes the author over kills on small details or subjects. What truly earned this book it's 4 stars from me was the last 30% of the book! Them plot twists I did not see coming! The ending of this book was explosive! I did not see any of that coming! The book starts off so sweet for Drew and Maxine's character then Juliet leaves you on pins and needles with that ending! This book also brought big changes for all the characters. This book was still on the BDSM tame side. But doesn't lack in kink or steam! The ending was enough to make me read the final book Bound.

I've pretty much binge read this series and loved every page. Drew and Maxine adventures continue in book 3 of the series. With some hot steamy f@$king and some moments that totally take you by surprise, this book is my favorite in the series so far. Of course I can't leave out Ben, he is just the best in this book! I won't give anything away, but you really need to read this book! 5/5
