Five friends have spent their lives growing up together, on a quiet little street, in the picturesque town of Pleasence. But romance, college, and growing up are the least of their worries. With Halloween approaching, they're in for a weekend they'll never forget. As bodies start piling up and a bloodbath ensues, they'll learn that things aren't always as they seem. Secrets are mounting, there's nowhere to turn, and nobody can be trusted. This taut murder mystery pays homage to horror classics, while taking you on a twisted ride that you won't want to escape.

An indie published horror story that's sure to hit you right in the nostalgia. Akin to popular 80s slasher style, "Behind Empty Eyes" tells the tale of 5 friends fighting for their lives when a serial killer runs free during Halloween. It's fast paced but keeps you guessing the whole time. Local author, Jason Burke, honors his favorite horror creators before him in this tale of murder and mystery.
Good book, quick read. Keeps you wondering who it is and has some great gore! This book is very nostalgic which is always a fun read in my opinion. I really enjoyed the characters and the town dramas too.
