I didnt hate it. I think what I found annoying was the outlandish scientific theories surrounding the basis of the story. Oddly enough, it kind of all made sense up until the point where the bad guy tells you he was only exaggerating. Like I said before, I didnt hate the story. We did get a whole new character out of the story.

This graphic novel tackles the questions the everyone was asking at the end of the movie, Back to the Future. If this Marty was from the old timeline then what happened to the Marty from the new one?

While the answer isn't exactly what I was expecting, it was still an exciting ride and it was handled as only BTTF can.

Getting really existential here.

Given what we’ve been shown in the previous books and in the second movie. You could perhaps think that the timeline in Back to the Future creates new universes.

It doesn’t, but Marty is not that sure about it. He’s been having thoughts about his place in the universe, his memories are not aligned with the timeline he and Doc interfered with 30 years ago, and his family and friends make references to events he never really lived through.

What if the Marty that went back in time to escape from the Libians and the Marty who left right when this one came back were completely different people? Does this mean Marty is just taking the place of another one?

Well. An old associate of Dr. Brown seems to think so, and looks for Marty to save him from possible time erasure.

Here Marty panics and leaves a note for Doc Brown to return to his time and save him, this is when things start to go wild.

Alternate Martys start to appear, Doc is stuck with Marty in 1985, and it appears that the multiverse idea is plausible.

The book goes bonkers, and it’s quite a headache if you don’t follow carefully. Despite my not liking the antagonist much, I can still say it was an interesting continuation to Continuum Conundrum.

An interesting idea that the movies never explored about Marty remembering changes before he changed the timeline. This story focuses on Marty exploring the new timeline like him remembering different events then others around him. One of the most interesting moments is when Marty and his Father talk about it where his Father thinks Marty is talking about it from theoretical perspective and Marty is talking based on experience. While the story does take itself a bit to seriously one part is when they bring a religious aspect and it feels weird for a Back to the Future story taking itself a bit to seriously.

The third volume of the ongoing BTTF series deals again with the consequences of Marty having time traveled and the doubts he has about the different timelines he has visited... is he the same Marty? Are there other Martys somewhere in parallel realities?

A greedy mad scientist takes advantage of Marty's discontent and sets a trap for him and Doc Brown which can have far reaching consequences... time altering ones.

Recommended.

Again, these are fun but they go a bit too hard on the time-travel sci-fi rigmarole and the characters end up feeling a bit flanderised and...unrelatable? I did like the way they dealt with Irving though.

The Needles character assassination happening in these pages for example... I swear he wasn't this much of an asshole in the films, but here they've made him 80's Biff.

This is a deep dive on a personal level, asking if you go back in time, change something, and come back to persent are you still the same person, or did destoy that version of yourself? Marty struggles with this knowledg. On another note we get nice back story Martys bully. Also find out someone else other than Doc brown and Marty knew about time travel tech. Lots of good stuff here.

3.5-4. Read a little clunky at times, which made certain scenes a little unclear, but a fun, angsty plot. It felt a lot like an episode of Rick and Morty at times too, which was fun. The artwork is gorgeous; really a perfect art style for BTTF.

(B+) 78% | Good
Notes: Problem's metaphysical, could stand to be more whimsical, dull disarray, too present-day, and often awful quizzical.

Posed some great questions about altering time but never came with any answers. The story went in a weird directions that involved Mcfly robots....

Loved it!

The BTTF comics continue the story from where Part III ended. These stories feel genuine and snugly fit into the BTTF mythos.

This was a ride!
A new artist yet again, and she clearly remembered to make everyone look younger~ish. Hoorah!

The opening chapter is a Needles story nobody asked for. Spoiler - he's still a dick
Proper story begins with Marty questioning if he is still himself even though his head is full of memories that didn't happen (in this timeline) Just as it gets ready to get into some deeper philosophical soul-searching.....
THE PLOT BECOMES AND EPISODE OF RICK AND MORTY (pop culture has ruined me, but also come on... it's right there!)

Did Marty supplant an alternate version of himself in BttF part 1? If Marty’s memories no longer match his past, does he truly belong in his new life? Also, what if Doc Brown wasn’t the only scientist working on time travel? These are the questions this comic raises and, although it starts off strong, it doesn’t stick the landing.

When the lifelike androids showed up, I knew we’d jumped the shark. Doc has everything figured out when the plot needs him to and the ending wraps everything up too conveniently for my taste.

There's a single moment of brightness in this dull slog, when for a fleeting instant it seems like the writers might be going in a more thoughtful, existential direction. Doesn't actually happen, though.
And what's with all the backstory on Needles? Who the heck was clamoring for that? Flea?!
