I Love You But We Can't Keep Doing This
The heart wants what the heart wants; despite the hell you have to endure to get it and try to keep it. Serenity Bradshaw is a successful attorney determined to achieve every goal she set for herself including becoming a partner at her father’s law firm. She’s worked hard to attain the ability to acquire just about anything her heart desires, but all of her hard work still isn’t enough to fill the void she has when it comes to her love life. She yearns for the love her heart so desperately craves from one man in particular. The day she looked into his eyes, something changed within her; unable to resist the temptation she falls hard even though she knew that he was definitely out of her league.
Ta’Zyon Rivers was the man to see in the streets since being a teenager. Hated by many and envied by even more, his focus was to maintain his position while trying to balance everything else going on around him. Coming from a family of nothing but hustlers, he was determined to leave his mark in the streets before facing his fate for the life he chose rather it be prison or death. His mind was constantly on the streets and making money with his best friend KD by his side since he was a teenager. Love wasn’t even something he thought about until he meets the one person who might have the power to change that. Despite the life he lives, Serenity somehow finds a way to love him and deal with the obstacles that come with loving a man like him. For all the right reasons she’s the right one for him and he refuses to let another man have her despite his current circumstances. All he needs her to do is be patient and understand that her loyalty will pay off in the long run.
Thinking that with time her love for him will someday fade away, she finds out that walking away isn’t as easy as she thought it would be.
There’s a hold that he has on her that causes her to continue to stay when any woman in her right mind would leave. After loving him for way too long leads to a life of nothing but nights filled with loneliness, she questions her breaking point.

I really like the book in the first half, by the second half I couldn't put it down. Got pissed off when I got a "to be continue", Quickly downloaded the second book (via KU), went to the end, read the last chapter, got a 2nd "to be continued" and promptly sent the sucker back. I'm not a cliffhanger type of chick. Made up my own ending in my mind and as far as I'm concerned the series is done.

Lawd Serica where is part 2?! Zy's selfish ass didn't deserve Serenity's time or love. I swear I called Zy everything but a child of God while I was reading. Dude was beyond selfish and needed to realize at some point Serenity would get tired of giving her all without getting anything besides heartbreak in return. Here he had a chick that would hold him down without wanting for anything and he still wasn't satisfied. I liked Khyree but the revelation at the end had me side-eyeing him just a little. Now Keysha got on my nerves something serious with her fake ass. I'm hoping all of her attempts backfire on her. I loved Serenity's character because she seemed to have everything together but her love life. How could the one she desperately wanted continue to hurt her without thinking at some point they'd be ready to let go? I didn't even feel bad for Zy at the end because his crazy ass deserves everything that comes with the choices he made. I'm so ready to see what else Serica has in store and want to say job well done on the first book. I can't wait to find out what Zy has gotten caught up in and if it has anything to do with the decisions KD made. I'm hoping Serenity will finally realize that even though she loves Zy, she definitely can't continue doing the same things with him without any progress.

Mannnn I don't even kno wat to say rite now this book was absolutely amazing.. I could literally feel all of Serenitys emotions.. Like I was living her story.. I hate a man like Zy.. Ughhhh he really got under my skin.. Tha type that can do wateva they want and walk all over ur feelins but tha minute u do some small (compared 2 wat they did) ur disloyal and this, that & tha 3rd..smh I hope her situation finally allows her 2 open her eyes and walk away from this mess named Zy (even tho according 2 him everybody but him caused tha problem).. I hate, hate, hate, hate men like him.. Serica this book was truly amazing still in awe that this is your first book.. Keep them coming.. Can't wait ta read pt 2..

Just stupid man
Omg, man oh man this is one of the best book I have read in a long time one. Sen need to wake up and grow up as well, she really can't be that stupid for real for real, as educated as she is , with the up bringing that she has, where is her self worth, I mean damn enough is enough already. Ever heard of self love duh!!!!!!!!

My second book for 2018 and I truly loved it. Rini had a big heart, but all that she wanted was to be loved by Zy. Rini need to let Zy go until he becomes a real man. Awesome book! On to book 2!!

Serenity needs to live for her. I'm speechless about her situation. Zy ain't shit!!! You cant be with someone and keep someone from finding love of their own. I'm glad he got a big dose of KARMA! I'm sad about the baby daddy. He assistant will get what's coming to her. After everything he puts her through she loves him. Love is not supposed to hurt.

Intriguing!!
I was in a reading slump and this book took me out of it! From the start I knew this book was gonna be good and it was great. Zy is crazy, serenity poor thing I felt her pain cause I was once her. Keysha slick butt need to be dealt with. That ending though, OMG I need part 2 like NOW. Editing was on point and you will not be able to put it down till the end!!

I will start by saying that this was a great read. The relationship between Serenity & Zy had me intrigued and heated till the end. I wanted to reach in and shake her & slap him. Never seen such a selfish man relationship-wise. I was gifted this book via book club contest and really enjoyed. I will definitely be purchasing part 2 and looking for more books from this author.

I haven't read a good book like this in so long. I hope that Sereneity keeps the baby. Zy is so selfish. He don't love her but love controlling her. I also hope Serenity find a true friend because her not having any friendships is just pitiful

Damn it
Ok first let me say I'm IN LOVE with this story, I can't wait for part 2. This author is someone to be on the lookout for. Her descriptions, her characters, the story all together is really good. It's a definite page turner. I will be recommending this book to others.

I knew from the title this book would be something else, but the content and the storyline was more than I imagined. This was a great read. The relationship between Serenity & Zy kept me smh. Very well written, this story kept me reading. I'm so looking forward to the next part & highly recommend!

It's sad that they really love each other but him being selfish and her being blinded by live they can't get their relationship right. Great book!

Deep need to read
This is a well written book that shows how many people in general don't possess self love and end up in toxic relationships. I'm ready ro start on part 2.

This was my first read by this author and it definitely won't be my last. I was very impressed. This read flowed nicely and kept my attention. Serenity just can't catch a break.
