After reading her first trilogy (City of Bones, City of Ashes, and City of Glass) I was very impressed and immediatly feel in love with her books. But Clockwork Angels was truly remarkable. It kept me turning the page and I could not put it down. It's the kind of book that keeps you guessing until the very end. It also has fighting, some romance, friendship, and a story plot that will keep your head spinning.

I wanted to like Clockwork Angels by Lea Hernandez, but the line work was so shaky and/or faint in many places that at times I couldn't figure out what was happening. Or why. The plot involves Texas, jackalopes, reading the dead, and strange angels. Among other things. Still, I enjoyed the love and sexual tension between Temperance and Amelia.

An interesting story in which the main character discovers she is not human. It includes a few vampires, (it seems they are popping up in so many books now!) but doesn't focus on them. Set in London in the 1800's, it is a good read that keeps you guessing.

I liked this series, both Cathedral Child and Clockwork. The manga style art may not to be to everyone's taste but I thought it was quite lovely. It also appeals to me as a fan of gay/bi/lesbian works, with it's ame-sex love story.
