I love writing and illustrating stories for kids!

Stories are fun, but it’s more than that...each book a child reads is a doorway into understanding more about herself and more about the world she lives in.

I want to create those doorways—to laughter,  to learning, to imagined worlds, and most importantly... to connecting with each other.

Cute baby storyline

This really cute illustrated story would be perfect for little mommy and me storytime. The baby animal was like so many children's first stuffed toy. Lovely pictures accompanied the story. There are other books by this author on her website and amazon.

Sometimes, there's nothing better than a cute, short book to read to those kids, and this one does the job in a way that leaves a smile on the face.

Young Midge has a best friend, Moo. And the two do everything together as kid and favorite stuffed animal often do. It starts out at the beginning, Midge has Moo and leads a short glance at moments they share together. From bath time to eating peas, the two are inseparable and, simply said, adorable.

The text is short and sweet, making it very easy for even younger listeners to pay attention to and understand. The quick sentences are also just enough to bring across the intended meaning with punch. It's amazing how much can be relayed in so few words. The story itself is also very short, perfect for a quick, bedtime read.

The illustrations aren't only colorful and a joy to flip through, but they work hand in hand with the text, adding to the story and Midge and Moo's relationship. It's actually because of the illustrations that the short text works as well as it does. The humor behind the situations Midge and Moo are in--such ordinary, daily life things--comes to life in the illustrations. It's comical because it's so true. And I couldn't help but smile and chuckle several times.

My kids were reminded of their own stuffed animals and immediately went on a search for them. Friends like Moo should never be left out.

Summed up: This is a very short but very cute read, which hits on something many kids can relate to--the relationship with their favorite stuffed animal. The illustrations and text are nicely done, making it a joy to read and flip through. In other words, it's a perfect, short read for ages 2+.

“Words are easy, like the wind; Faithful friends are hard to find.”- William Shakespeare

A Day with Moo: A Best Friends Book a cute children’s story from The Adventures of Midge and Moo Series by Kerry McQuaide, who is also the illustrator.

Midge and Moo are best friends who are inseparable. They even came home together two days after Midge was born. The friends love to play and Moo always becomes the patient under “Doctor Midge’s” care. There are times though that Moo does things to annoy Midge. Tracking dirt onto the floor is one of them because Mommy always gets upset and make her take a bath. Naughty Moo has to take a bath as well, so Midge feels less moody knowing she is not the only one Mommy saw.

A Day with Moo: A Best Friend Book by Kerry McQuaide will delight small children age 5 and under. This short story makes an amusing read. It will appeal to young ones who usually have their special toys like Moo the cow that sometimes get them into trouble too.

Kerry McQuaide’s primary aim is to promote love and friendship through memorable stories that will bring joy to children. I like the lovely illustrations that the author created and the gift offer she included. A Day with Moo is free to download on IBooks, Kobo, and Amazon. The Adventures of Midge and Moo Series will become a favourite collection for young readers.

Adorable little Midge is in love. She's been in love since she was brought home from the hospital when she was two days old with her stuffed cow-friend Moo by her side. They do everything together. They are inseparable.

When Midge builds a tower...guess who knocks it down?
When Midge plays doctor...guess who is her only patient?
When Midge turns into a grimy mud-monster and needs to be sanitized...guess who needs a spin in the washer too?
And don't get me started on who eats the dreaded peas at dinner time... mmmmm... Who could that be? Can you guess?

The best friends forever get ready for bed and Midge affirms her love and devotion to Moo and whispers in his ear:

"I love you Moo.
Tomorrow it will be my turn to eat all the peas." Best friends always help each other out at times like that right? They take one for the team even if it's only a team of two.

The illustrations are crisp, uncluttered, playful and simply delightful. Snuggled up with this book will give opportunity to talk about objects in your children's lives (and maybe yours too) that bring comfort, safety and security, all very good things to have. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more in the series.

“A day with Moo”, written and illustrated by Kerry McQuaide, is the first installment of author’s “The Adventures of Midge and Moo” series.

The author introduces reader to main two characters – Midge and Moo, a girl and her teddy bear – the two best friends who know each other for whole life, or more precisely, since when Midge was just two days old and they came together from the hospital.
They are doing everything together, usually entertaining and funny things and sometimes things that adults don’t understand but all the time they are together, they always cover for each other. Just like the best friends should always do, because closeness and understanding are the true meanings of real friendship…

With her debut “A day with Moo” Kerry McQuaide delivered a charming read for older preschool children that, though short, succeeds in grabbing interest of readers, presenting the story of friendship, a wonderful message how important is to stay together, in good or bad times.

Together with easy to understand charming and inspirational story, within the book covers there are several nicely done digital illustrations that additionally makes this debut work a worthy recommendation for parents to read, but also nice book for children to start practice reading on their own. Therefore I look forward reading the other four sequels in Kerry McQuaide’s series.

I was given a copy of this book by the author for the purpose of unbiased review, while all the presented information is based on my impressions.

A day with Moo: a best friend book (The Adventures of Midge & Moo) by Kerry McQuaide is an easy to read story about Midge and her best friend, Moo. This book is so cute with such adorable illustrations. Midge and Moo go everywhere and do everything together. It's not just about a little girl, Midge, and her stuffed animal pet, Moo, it's about friendship, love, companionship and caring. The simplicity of the story is great. It would make a great addition to your child's bookshelf. It would also make a fantastic gift to any classroom or for any time during the year. I gave it 5 stars but it clearly deserves many more and I wish I could give it more. I highly recommend this book to everyone even if you have no children ... you come in contact at times with them. Kerry McQuaide has done a great job with this book and I look forward to many more.

It's always a great time to read books for my kids, even though they're already old enough to read for themselves. Tonight, I read them A Day With Moo from the Adventures of Midge and Moo and my kids enjoyed it.

This book is all about best friends since birth, Midge and her plushie cow Moo, who do all things together, from sun-up till sundown. From playing in mud, to cleaning themselves, from eating peas, to not eating peas... and all those stuffs. My kids laughed at Midge's attempt to feed Moo but they really loved the strong bond between the two. My two older sons also do most things together, they're the best of friends and sometimes they include their youngest brother in their circle when he's not being stubborn. They wanted Midge and Moo to stay friends forever and learn more of their adventures, too!

This is an adorable story of a girl and her stuffed animal. I smiled as I read it, thinking of my oldest daughter and her "Moo Bear," who also came home from the hospital with her--and of HER daughter, who came home with a stuffed bear this past September.

Midge and Moo have a very full day, sharing adventures and trouble. There are very few words on each page, which makes it a quick read for small children, and easy to read for older children who are just beginning to read on their own. The illustrations are simple and colorful, and show exactly what is taking place at that point in time.

I look forward to sharing this story with my grandchildren, and in collecting more of the books from this series.

When Midge was two days old, she and Moo came home from the hospital together. Midge grew to love Moo and make him her best friend. They do every thing together. They even get into trouble sometimes. They love building things and then making them crash. It's fantastic to have someone to love you unconditionally.

I can relate to these books because my fifteen year old daughter came home from the hospital with her bunny, Grace. Like Midge and Moo, they were never apart. Midge and Moo are perfect books to start your child's library with. Each one contains a lesson and are perfect to jump start your child's love of books.

I found no issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because they are fantastic. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

Midge came home from hospital with a cuddly toy called Moo. Now Midge and Moo enjoy everyday life, from mud to peas, in an everyday home, nicely illustrated in Kerry McQuaide’s simply picture book, A Day with Moo.

The illustrations are bright and pleasingly different. Facial expressions are fun. And Midge’s relationship with Moo is exactly as it should be.

The writing’s clear and simple too, though I found myself surprised by the lack of repetition – that probably tells you more about me than the book.

A Day with Moo is a fun little picture book to share with children and cuddly friends, in home or preschool as well.

Disclosure: I learned that it was free so I bought it.

Midge and her pet stuffed cow are best friends who do everything together. McQuaide carefully describes a typical day in which they play, get in trouble together, get clean and eat their peas. Midge is a typical toddler; I love the way she blames Moo when she gets in trouble for tracking mud in the house. On the other hand, Midge shares everything with Moo, whether they be things she enjoys or those she dislikes.

Perfect picture book for toddlers and preschoolers which depicts friendship in concrete terms. One of a series that parents of young children might want to add to the whole collection.

A Day with Moo is the darling story of a sweet little girl and her adorable best friend.

From the very beginning Midge and Moo have been together. They have fun and even cause a little mischief, but just knowing they will always have one another is the greatest gift.

This is the first book in the Adventures of Midge and Moo series and it is absolutely precious. The simple text and delightful illustrations are sure to engage little ones.

I highly recommend picking up a copy.

In this book we are introduced to Midge and her stuffed cow Moo. They do everything together. When Midge builds blocks, Moo knocks them down. However, she often blames Moo for things. We can see that no matter what, Midge loves Moo very much.

Every child has a special connection with something, many of these "somethings" are stuffed animals. They do share the special moments of the day and night.
I do wish the art work was better, as that is a big part of the story for little ones.

This book would be great for ages 2-4. It is about a child and her lovey, and how important they are to little ones. It also shows how children provide empathy to items.
