I did a fuller review on Vol. 1, and a lot of that applies to this volume as well. It's definitely not a series that let's you just jump in, you'll want to read the first volume first, unless you've seen the anime, in which case it won't matter as much. This book covers Saya's time in Russia and when she first find out about the Zoo in France. It was the weakest of the four books for me - I like the Russia arc, although the sudden flashback in the book is sort of confusing at first due to the writing, but I think it spends too much time on the Schiff, who were the weakest part of the story for me. I also think this is the book where the weakness of the translation is most glaring. Still, the art is nice, and it continues to be a good read for people who like Blood+.
This is my favorite book of this series. It picks up a lot of speed than the last book. Lots more action. Plus it is probably the most tragic of all the books.
