Blizzard is book 1 in The Brotherhood Journals. It is a follow on series to Addison Jane’s The Club Girl Diaries, and although technically separate series they do interlink significantly. For this reason I recommend you read both Harmony and Chelsea before embarking on Blizzard.
Blizzard is the VP of the Brothers by Blood MC and life-long friend of its President Optimus. Having spent his whole life both growing up in and being part of the club, it really is the only life he has ever known. He is thankful and loyal to his brothers and the club because they are pretty much the only family he has ever known. The club and its members showed him what real love and loyalty is, instead of relying on a mother that left him to hook up with another MC, leaving him behind to be dragged up by a man that lives inside the nearest bottle. Having felt the pain and loss of abandonment, he swore he would never form close attachments; Until Rose enter his life. He was mad for her and knew he would never be able to let her go, until she double crossed the club and broke his heart in two.
Rose feels lonelier now than she has ever been in the past. She may have been brought into the heart of her Uncle’s Italian mobster family, being loved by her extended family without question. But she left her heart back in Athen’s when she double crossed her best friend, A club that excepted her and a man that could have been her everything. It doesn't matter that her father mistreated her as much as others, she knows she did wrong and she can’t even begin to forgive herself, never mind expect others to do the same. Faced with having to return, she just hopes she can avoid Blizzard. The hatred in his eyes the last time she saw him will haunt her forever.
What will happen when Blizzard is faced with not just one ghost from his past but two? Will Rose find her redemption? And when death stares the person you want to hate in the face, do you turn your back or do you forget the past and move forward?
I have waited for what seems like ages for this book; in actual fact it has only been a matter of months. Why? Because the ending of Chelsea was a serious humdinger of a cliffhanger. I both loved and hated Rose at the end of that book, but my heart seriously bled for Blizzard; having loved this guy since the original book, Harmony. I did wonder how Addison would make this story work if I'm honest. Let’s face it, Rose did some pretty shitty things to the club. But let me assure you she has delivered and she has done it with a story that twists, turns and opens a lot of doors that you seriously don’t expect to be opened.
It really was another enjoyable read in the world of the Brothers of Blood MC, and one that gave us a few glimpses as to future stories; in particular Wretch and Leo’s which I am really looking forward to. If you enjoy MC reads this is a good one. Not too heavy on blood and gore, but with a bit of violence, club politics, loyalty and the twists and turns that only this genre can deliver.
