“I know Jack hurt you, and yes, he’s my best friend. I know what’s ahead of me when it comes to you, and it’s not going to be easy. We may have some common ground, but we’re different people. If you want to hide, I can’t help with that or allow it .But if you want to run? Fight? Feel something? That’s my department all day long.”

“Tell me what you need and I’ll do my best to give it to you,” he rasped and took a step closer. “You just have to let me know.”

“I was desperate for more. Desperate to know what it meant to be seen, touched, by this man.“

“I see my next mistake.”

What do you see when you look at me?"
"I see my next mistake."

I know Jack hurt you, and yes, he's my best friend. I know what's ahead of me when it comes to you, and it's not going to be easy. If you want to hide, I can't help with that or allow it. But if you want to run? Fight? Feel something? That's my department all day long."

You want a place to hide? That was Jack. And you're right. He's gone. But I'm the place you can run to. I'm also the one you run from...So go ahead and run, Kitten. But don't think I won't catch you."

I kissed him, soft and slow, so contradictory to the way he was taking me. Fast and hard and completely.

...I was falling hard for the man that seemed to have a way with picking me up and carrying me when I needed him the most."

"What do you see when you look at me?"
"I see my next mistake."

I didn't want to get caught up in feelings again, because it hurt way too much when the curtain fell, the bliss was over, and all that was left was a soul-deep kind of freeze that cracked my bones.
"Tell me what you need and I'll do my best to give it to you," he rasped and took a step closer. "You just have to let me know."

"You want a place to hide? That was Jack. And you're right. He's gone. But I'm the place you can run to. I'm also the one you run from... So go ahead and run, Kitten. But don't think I won't catch you."
I just wanted to feel something good. And Cal was beyond good. He was an escape I couldn't get anywhere else.
I begged for more. Couldn't get enough. I wanted to feel all his strength. His anger. His punishment. I wanted to feel the pain I caused him. Pain I'd been caused. All of it melded together into something I didn't understand, and I just wanted that sting of release. The line of pleasure and pain.
...I was falling hard for the man that seemed to have a way with picking me up and carrying me when I needed him the most.
