His Virgin Angel

Rate this book
Jack Sosa knows the world of violence, sex, and danger. He grew up in that world, and as a man, he owns it. Then one day, while he is waiting for some cleaners to dispose of a body, a chubby girl sits with him, trying to make him feel better. He is a stranger and she only a young girl, but when she leaves, she takes a part of him with her.

Jack can’t let this angel go, so he keeps her, determined to protect her. Now four years later, she’s no longer a girl, but a beautiful woman, and Jack’s feelings have changed, too, growing into something far beyond protectiveness. He cannot hide them for much longer.

Piper has fallen in love with the man who saved her, but she never expects Jack to feel the same way. However, one kiss is all it takes. Even though Jack is twenty-four years her senior, she doesn’t care. He is the man she fell in love with, the man who makes her body burn hotter than any fire.

However, Piper doesn’t know the truth about the man she loves, and when she’s taken by his enemy, her world is turned upside down. Can she find it in her heart to love a killer? Can Jack live with nearly killing his virgin angel?

Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. 4 MUCH OLDER STARS

In this book we have two very different individuals meeting at a critical period in theirs lives.
The hero Jack was a 40 year old mobster type who was trying to come to terms with his fiancee's infidelity and the heroine Piper was a 16 year old innocent trying to cheer him up.
Jack is captivated by her and her innocence but he is too old for her so he tries to forget about her. This works for a year until he sees the book she gave him that night and he goes looking for her.
Thereby discovering her deplorable living conditions.
He could not allow this beautiful Angel to be touch by all the ugly things in this world so he goes about cleansing her environment of all the toxic elements.
He would keep her safe and give her everything she needed along with his protection.

description

And for four years he played the role of protector and benefactor until he finally could no longer deny himself.

“Jack jerked as he stared at her. In all the time he’d been protecting her, never once had he had sexual thoughts about her, but in that moment, he saw her in a completely different light. She was no longer a kid, but twenty-one years woman."

He struggled with taking her as his lover as he felt unworthy of his innocent Angel.
He thinks to himself:
“He was forty-five years old, and Piper, the youngest lover he’d ever had, was by far his favorite”

He desperately tries to deny his growing love for her but it does not take him long to realize that how much she means to him.

description

However, this innocent is an intelligent woman and what will happen when she discovers the real ugly truth about who he really is?
When she finds out the violent things he has done in order to keep her safe and innocent?
READ THE BOOK AND FIND OUT.

description

This was a beautiful story and I loved both the hero and the heroine. He was who he was and made no apologies for it but he wanted to be a better worthy person for her.
I ADORED THAT!
She was sweet but strong. She has a perfectly normal reaction to his honest revelations. She was innocent but not naive.
I LOVED THAT!
Also, the epilogue 2 years later was SWEET!
I really enjoyed this book and it was worth a read for me. Not sure about the reread maybe in the future but I will be keeping it for sure.

Safety: no cheating once they are together, he has a girlfriend and other women during the 4 years they knew each other but no one once he decides to give their relationship a chance. She was a virgin. No other woman scene (I know, I can't believe it either!) no condoms but he has always wore them in the past with others.

21 year old doormat heroine.
45 year old manwhore hero.
OW drama. Hero pay prostitutes from his own brothel to sleep with him and he used to take them to the restaurant where the heroine works. The same excuse as always, they don't mean anything because he only wanted her. Yep rolling my eyes here.
Doormat heroine who couldn't stand up for herself.
Skipped a lot on this book.
Like always predictable story on these books. Chubby heroine and manwhore hero. At least that's what they always call the heroine a chubby.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Standard Sam Crescent story BUT this one did not include any OW sex scenes (yea!!). I like that the H didn't follow the standard older man "I love you but you're to young so i'm gonna screw around until you're old enough..." cliche. The H only viewed himself as a protector and never looked at her in a romantic way until he really took a deep look at their friendly relationship. Once he saw that he wanted something with her he stopped seeing OW.

It's been a long time since I've read a fantabulous Sam Crescent and somehow this had all the ticks for me!
I loved the May December romance- the way he took care of her since the time he met her and she made him smile.
When she's 21 and he's 45 they decide to take their relationship to the next level- which is as usual hot.
This reminded me a little of Elijah which is one of my fav SCs.
Everything worked. Liked the epilogue but would have adored a more future one too!

Jack Sosa was a bad man yet a sweet innocent teenage girl by the name of Piper Johnson sees that he's upset so she sits down and talks to him --a complete stranger! He questions her commonsense and street sense per say but she's just a kind-hearted, concerned girl whose cruel mother hates her and puts her down but who still felt sorry for Jack that day. Then she offers him her copy of a cherished but worn book entitled, "Jane Eyre" to make him feels better with his situation and walks off before saying “I better get home. I’ve got to take care of my younger brother.” That very scene sets up a caring and devoted start to their innocent friendship.

"Her smile was beautiful, and so pure. He’d not seen innocence like that in so long, and especially in a teenager. Weren’t they all running around, screwing and taking drugs?" - Jack Sosa

"Jack couldn’t find it in his heart to push her away. “My girlfriend cheated on me with another man.”"

“Because I’m fat and weird.” She shrugged. “I get told it all the time. My mom thinks I’m a loser because I like books.” - Piper

“It’s fine. I don’t care. I’m used to it. Here, I’m so sorry about your girlfriend. Mom’s boyfriends cheat on her a lot as well.” She handed him the book. “When I read it, it makes me feel happy. Like maybe one day there will be that special someone who’ll accept me for me.”

A year later Jack finds Piper's book in his closet with her name inscribed in it and goes looking for her and find her--- a 17 year old, Piper and her four year old baby brother, Brian both battered and bruised. Jack remembered how she reached out to him when he was hurting and upset so on that day Jack decides to take her under his own protection -- out of her negligent Mom and boyfriend's hands. Like I said Jack Sosa was a bad man but he's now the sole protector of two kids with the assistance of his bodyguard/driver, Drake. Jack sets Piper and Brian up in an apartment with Drake as caregiver ... watching over them.

Four years later their innocent relationship becomes so much more but Jack still is unable to tell Piper what he does professionally. Jack is a businessman alright but but he actually deals in illegal activities like pimping, drugs, killing bad people among other things! Jack is his own little Mafia boss of sorts and he has an enemy named Ronald who is closer than he thinks and looking for his 'achilles heel' that being Piper. Piper is a college student who excels yet all of a sudden strange things starts to happen to Piper. Piper enjoys her job at Exquisite and had never had problems with any of her co-worker until evil- spirited Louisa starts working there and she is causing little incidents in the workplace. Also in one of her college classes where she excels, her new English professor Mr. Rivers and his mysterious friend put her on edge by making Piper feel unsafe and frightened and her senses are readily on alert but so are Drake's and Jack's!

"In the back of his mind he’d remembered the girl that had risked her very life to make him smile. It was the first time anyone had ever done that for him, and in doing so, Piper had secured her future for life. He was intrigued by her gentleness, charmed by her age, and now angered by the asshole who had put the bruises on her face. They would pay. Jack didn’t expect anything in return, but he made a vow to always be able to look into her eyes, and see the smile shining back at him." ~Jack

“I’m a man, Piper. Twenty-four years your senior, and what I want will probably scare you.”

"Biting her lip, she stepped forward, running her hands up his chest. “What if I told you that I’m not afraid?” Life had been shit to her for so long, taking care of her brother, trying to create a better life, that she’d pushed all of her own needs and desires to one side. What was wrong with giving in?" ~Piper

"She had been the good girl for so long… She didn’t know if she could be bad, but in that moment, she wanted to be naughty." -Piper

Read this one! "His Virgin Angel" has a lot of twists and turns, suspense, betrayal, lies; vengeance and drama by other women interested in Jack and of course Jack and Piper's relationship is a doozy because it was a tease at times because of the slow burn factor! And precocious Brian, Piper's little brother is a memorable character who dealt with being bullied as well as Drake's loyalty to them all in this memorable but quick story!

Note: There was a huge age difference of 24 years between Jack and Piper but as I mentioned earlier their relationship starts off as friends-- innocently and a sweet one at best. They both had feelings and fantasies for each other four years later but nothing happens sexually until she was 21 years old and she wanted the relationship just as badly as Jack did. Jack was not a man who couldn't find women but he had no feelings at all about them until Piper. For three months he was alone when he really start having strong feeling about Piper!

Enjoyable quick read! 4.5 memorable stars ****!!!!!!!!!

There isn’t a book of Sam’s that I dislike but this book (his virgin angel) is now my favourite! I didn’t expect to feel sorry for Jack; after all he was a killer. But Jack and Piper were a perfect match despite the age difference. Jack would truly do anything to protect her and keep her happy. There wasn’t one point in this story that bored me, nor were there any faults. I devoured this book from start to end.

Jack is a killer; he is a pimp, a drug dealer and a man nobody crosses. One day whilst sat outside waiting for the bodies of his now ex and her man on the side, a chubby young girl sits next to him and asks him if he is ok and when she leaves she gives him her book. A year later Jack finds the book in his closet and he decides to check up on the brave young girl, and give her book back. But what he finds when he turns up at her run down apartment angers him.

Piper and her baby brother are both beaten and bruised when they answer the door to Jack. Without a second thought Jack takes them to a safe place and ‘’sorts out’’ their abusive mother and her equally abusive boyfriends.
Four years later Piper Is in college, has her own apartment with her eight-year-old brother and she works at one of his restaurants. Her life has turned around for the better all thanks to jack, who she is so desperately in love with. When Piper and Jack finally give into their feelings for one another what will happen when Piper finds out the truth on what Jack really does for a living? Will Jack lose his angel? Or can Piper overlook it and forgive Jack’s actions?

Jack Sosa is a man who is feared by everyone, he deals with the people who stand in his way swiftly and sometimes harshly. That is why he is shocked when a chubby girl with her book in a nose, sees him sitting and promptly sits by his side offering him support. Jack can honestly say he never has been treated with such kindness. Little does the girl know her life is about to change for the better and Jack is going to make sure she gets every chance to be who she wants to be while she raises her little brother.

Piper has long since had a secret crush on Jack, but she knows it will never lead to anything. She is full figured and she knows not his type, but Jack begins to see Piper in a different light. When Jack makes the decision to make Piper his, he does it but shields who he truly is not knowing if Piper could accept him for exactly who and what he is.

I liked this. It was not an instant love story or a ok your an adult now I am coming after you. There friendship built over the years and I think it established a strong platform for when they got together. Highly entertaining.

I have to say that for a novella length book, there was a good storyline packed in there. I actually felt like the characters were fleshed out well enough that I knew who they were. This doesn't usually happen for me in such a short story. I like how even before Jack decided to pursue a relationship with Piper, he always did what he could to protect her and her brother and keep them happy. He was a bad man when it came to business but he was their angel. Once he does decide to pursue Piper he is 100% in. This also has a sweet epilogue at the end. All in all a great read.

Agh.

This is one of the best Sams works. It has more than one of my fav elements in a book. Some bitch drama, danger, enemy who is on a mission to cause damage to the couple, sweetness, loyal friends, sexiness and an alpha possessive hero, who will do everything to make his angel always smiling.

Pretty good for a SC book. Why? Because she kept it around 100 pages.

Jack Sosa (45, mob-ish) is sitting on a sidewalk bench outside the apartment where he just killed his cheating ex when sweet, innocent Piper (17, virgin) comes walking along. She doesn’t like seeing this stranger so sad, so she gives him the Jane Eyre book that she’s reading. After he gets home he throws his jacket and book in the closet and doesn’t think about her again. Fast forward a year later and he finds the book. He decides to track her down and finds her in a slum, bruised, and caring for her little brother. Jack kills her druggy mom and takes her and her brother away and sets them up in an apartment with his bodyguard/driver/friend, Drake. Drake is a pseudo parent to her. She grows up and when she’s 21, Jack realizes his interest in Piper has taken on a diff meaning. Lucky for him, Piper has always had a crush on her rescuer. There’s sex, a little drama, she’s kidnapped, rescued, and HEA.

My biggest complaint is SC rarely has enough sex for me. Plus, every single time the MMC decides to claim his girl, he always insists on waiting before having sex. Man, f*ck you. I’m ready these books for sex. Give it to me. So that part always frustrates me.

Reminder that SC heroines are always on the chubby side and plain looking. If this is your first book, you might think it’s OTP, but it’s standard practice for her. She writes a heroine that doesn’t fit the standard beauty mold.

I’m still giving this a 4 because I like the story.

This book was so good, Jack is a bad boy I'd love to tackle any day of the week and 10 times on Sunday. I'd have to say that this is my favorite older man/younger woman book that I've ever read. Jack Sosa is 45 years old and a bad man who hurts people who dare to fuck with him. The book starts with a prologue that takes place 4 years earlier when Jack just found his fiancée in bed with another man. After killing both of them he's sitting outside the apartment building waiting on his clean-up crew. A young girl sits next to him and asks him what's wrong he is shocked by this girl's kindness. She gives him Jane Eyre, her favorite book and tells him it will make him feel better like it always does for her. A year later he happens upon the book in a box in his closet and remembers the sweet young girl who helped him. He tracks her down and goes to her apartment and finds her with her 4 year old little brother both of them with bruises on their faces. He is furious that anyone could put their hands on the two of them. He takes them both and sets them up in an apartment and has his driver/friend Devin watch over them. Piper was 17 at the time so his friend only stays with them until she turns 18 and then she's appointed guardian of her little brother. She's now 21 years old and working as a waitress in a restaurant called Exquisite that's owned by Jack. Piper is innocent and naive and has no idea what Jack really does for a living and he hopes to keep it that way. Jack has an enemy named Ronald who has set his sights on Piper and he'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe. I loved Jack and even though he did bad things he was still a good man for everything he did for Piper and Brian.

Several years ago Piper spoke to a man that appeared sad and to cheer him up she gives him her favorite book, Jane Eyre. Months later, that man Jack comes across her book and decides to check on that girl Piper and what he finds boils his blood. He rescues Piper and her little brother from deplorable living conditions to which Piper is grateful and appreciative. Wanting to pay her own way, Jack sets Piper up with a job in one of his restaurants. Everybody around Piper knows who Jack really is except for Piper because she only sees the kinder, gentler Jack. What she does know is that Jack is an important and successful entrepreneur and she can't understand why he isn't on business magazine covers. Yes, Piper is clueless that Jack is a GANSTA that kills people that cross him!

I did appreciate that Jack had no romantic interest in Piper until years later. His interest in her was a gradual process. What I found cliche was that Piper was an overweight social (insert yawn) outcast with no friends.

Piper and Jack make an adorable couple despite the difference in their ages. Jack isn’t a likeable character in the beginning, he is a man that nobody crosses, a killer, a pimp and has his hand in many businesses. He is a jaded character that believes everyone is after something or inherently bad, until an innocent girl named Piper sits beside him to talk as he look sad. She leaves him with her most treasured possession a book. It’s not until a year later he comes across the book again and starts to wonder about the brave chubby girl that shared a moment of her time with him. He is determined to find her to check up on her, what he finds when he finds his angel again means he will destroy anyone that has ever hurt her or tries to hurt her.

Piper lives in a little 2 bedroom apartment with her little brother Brian, mother and her various boyfriends. When Jack discovers her a year after they met she and Brian are beaten and bruised. Jack takes them away to a safe place without a second thought. Fast forward 4 years and Piper and Brian’s life really could not be much better, she is holding down a job and attending college. The only thing that she craves is Jack’s love. Jack tries hard not to show her how desperately he wants to be with her, or let his life taint that of his innocent angel but they cannot deny their feelings forever. Can Piper see past the life he leads and forgive all his actions.

There is love, action, sweetness and comedy when it comes to little brother Brian & all the hot scenes to need. I dare you not to love this book.

The one thing I really appreciated about this book was Jack's unapologetic way of dealing with obstacles. I also liked that he was able to leash his desires in deference to Piper's innocence. The true star of the book for me was Jack. Piper was ok and I liked that while she had the air of innocence about her she wasn't that naive and she didn't keep secrets, or rather keep stuff to herself. While this was a short read, it packed the punch of a longer novel and I enjoyed it.

Short & sweet plus size romance

The cover pic is gorgeous and fierce.

It's fairly a fast paced story. It's fairly smooth. A professional criminal kills his fiance betrays him and walking by is a sweet, innocent girl. She gives him a book to lift his mood. A year later he remembers her and looks her up. When he finds her, it isn't good and he rescues her and her brother.

As time goes by they get feelings for each other but then his enemy finds out about her and plans on removing her light.

There's some grammar issues, some missing words. My biggest pet peeve, **spoiler alert** is the birth scene. No woman, especially a first time mother, pushes a baby out in less than an hour, or is in labor for less than 24 hours.

But besides that it's such a sweet romance for plus size girls.

3 Stars:
It has many redeeming qualities. The characters were likable at best neutral at worst. The writing was much better than expected. I developed an interest that withstood to the end. The plot was nice, somewhat original or had its own unique flair. The writing was good, and the pretense wasn’t half bad, the romance was simmering with few exceptions. The male/female lead showed hints of abuse both verbal and/or physical or signs of spot-on or forced chemistry. It was a tiny bit predictable. Overall, liked it enough, entertaining.

This was a short HOT, kind of forbidden (the guy is 24 years older than the girl) romance that I enjoyed reading. I especially enjoyed the first chapter because it was really cute and different. I liked all the characters but because of the length I wasn't able to fully connect with them, that is why I rated it 3 stars. I think if it was full-length it would've been a solid 4 stars.

Jack is a criminal and Piper is an optimist who has had a difficult life but remains sweet. This is a bad guy turns good guy for the right woman kind of story. It's almost sappy. I found it an easy quick read. There is dirty talk...almost crude at times but if you have read Sam Crescents books before you'll have come across it in her other stories.

I finally got to read this book, and I was not disappointed. I loved that it wasn't love at first sight. It was a build up to better things for Jack and Piper. She was so sweetly innocent, the exact opposite of everything he's ever been and she embraced him. Even knowing he had secrets. The love they shared was a love I felt and I couldn't have enjoyed it more.

Sweet read

Safe with exceptions:
H first meets h when she's 14.
When H realizes his true feelings for h more than just a Guardian there is no other women.
There is a 20+ age difference between the two.
A little OW drama but H shuts that down ASAP

Jack meets Piper one day when he was waiting for his 'clean up' crew to take care of his ex and the man she was cheating with. Whilst he was waiting this young chubby girl sits next to him and starts talking to him, and when she leaves she give him her favorite book. A year later Jack finds the book and goes in search of this girl and finds her and her brother beaten up in a run down apartment and decides to take her away from everything.

Years later Piper is working at a restaurant studying and she and her brother are taken of. Jack has been watching over both of them and making sure they are safe and untouched and Piper has started to develop feelings for her saviour. What Piper doesn't know is that Jack is a killer, pimp and a drug dealer and not a man to be messed with.

When Piper and Jack finally give in to their feelings, Jacks enemy's will use her to get to him. So will they have their happily ever after??

Sam Crescent this one was one of my favorites. I loved Piper and Jack together! Awesome storyline and definitely another one to add to your Awesomeness.
