Ada Stone is either unimaginative or has internalised misogyny. I am leaning towards the former because nothing about this book was original.
So we have the genre cliche, instalust. And how do you transition instalust into love? Well you have to point out how the MC is speshul. So speshul she catches our Alpha's attention in a way no other chica has. And this is where the misogyny comes in, she's speshul because she's not like other girls and thus starts the inner monologue of our Alpha where he catalogues all the ways in which she's not like other girls.
She's not trying to get him to commit. Most women are desperate to be his old lady but she just wants the D and she's outta there.
She eat. Most women are picking at salads and watching their carbs but she likes her pasta (bonus points for still having an MC that's thin though. Way to eschew beauty standards.... oh she likes to eat, but she still meets the beauty standards that all those other women are starving themselves for).
Internalised misogyny round 2. Alpha is surrounded by skanks all prostituting and debasing themselves for a scrap of his attention, but our speshul little snowflake has his attention... because she's not like other women (see above). Shall we lay bets on catfight between skank and speshul snowflake? I don't know because I DNF'd about 30% in, I was laughing too hard to continue.
Drinking game - take a shot every time the Alpha thinks "not like other women". Warning, do not attempt unless you have high alcohol tolerance or you'll be blotto 20% in.
One star is the absolute minimum I can give but, I guess, the author deserves it for actually referring to women as women, and not females. That said, the number of times the MC is referred to as having a baby in her belly, it's possible the author only refers to women as women because she's not entirely familiar with female reproductive organs. Hint: it's not the stomach and intestines.
Sometimes MC Romances are too rough for my taste, but this one wasn't. Don't get me wrong – life in the Street Demon's MC is still rough and dangerous but I like how the author made it so that it wasn't as harsh. The relationship between the main characters gets tested by the usual drama and secrets that come with one of them being in an MC. It was encouraging to see how they worked through that, even if the woman was as stubborn as they come. I personally think Belle is a little crazy but she also might be allowed that – her mom in sick and everything that is usually in line is completely out of her control. As someone who admits to being somewhat of a control freak, I can understand the stubbornness her character displays. It's not easy to just let someone else take care of you when you are so used to taking care of things yourself. The dirty scenes in this book are super hot, the drama is very intense, and the action is just all around consuming. I received this as an ARC and once I started reading it I could not put it down. Ada Stone managed to grab my interest right in the beginning and she held it for the entire book. It's not often that I read books that I literally cannot put down, but this was definitely one of them.
This book is a train wreck. He cared more about his whore than her geez. So what if his g/f called his whore a whore then he gets pissed of and he makes her say sorry to him and her. Screw that. The she has to play nice and be friends with the whore. And no one does anything when the whore leads them to the girlfriends house to kidnaps her. Also how does he pay for her moms bills because in the beginning the club talked about money problems. (My husband had a quad bypass and he stayed 2 weeks in hospital the bill was 158,000. Her mom was there way over a month plus using experimental processors? They were both annoying especially him with his orders and crap. I'm just glad I'm done with this book but mad I couldn't get the time back.
**3.5 Stars** Thank you, Ada Stone, for an ARC copy of RAW in exchange for my honest review. This was an enjoyable, light, engaging read. Under emotional stress Belle offered something to Michael he could not resist, 24 hours of uninhibited, raw passion in exchange for something she desperately longed for. Belle and Michael have great chemistry; their story took me somewhere unexpected – somewhere much deeper than the book description. The book drew me in, kept me reading and entertained throughout.
GREAT READ! I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Michael and Belle's love story was intriguing especially based on how their relationship began. This story contained a lot of unexpected twists and turns, was fast paced and provided a ton of temperature rising, tongue wagging moments. I will definitely be reading more books by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
The storyline was great. I'm a sucker for a good biker story with smokin hot sex and a HEA ending. I laughed and I cried. The love that grew between Michael and Belle was so heartwarming and their chemistry was off the charts. At times the suspense was so intense I couldn't read fast enough to find out what happens next. The end of the story has some surprises but I loved every minute of it. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
I received this book for an honest review. I honestly loved it. Hot alpha biker, Michael, and a dental hygienist, Belle, meet and make a deal, he can have her for 24 hours as long as he is willing to try making a baby with her. Hot sex for hours does make a baby and Michael isn't so sure he wants to walk away from Belle and his baby. Danger, romance, and steam galore.
enjoyable read, well written with an interesting back story though not very realistic. Belle didn't really have a lot of redeeming qualities but i did like Michael
i liked this book was a good read once you get into it,love that the guys are all bossy alphas makes a great mc story for me would read more by this author
Such an awesome mouth watering read! Loved Michael's character, he sounded like an arrogant ass in the beginning but he really stepped up to the proverbial daddy plate and dug in his roots. Belle, seemed a bit all over the map in the beginning of the story, sort of a loose cannon but once she truly realizes Michael's intentions and why he's so darn bossy (& extremely yummy!) then she seems to grow into a better character. An enjoyable read with a lot of sizzle along the way.
