1. Be born that way 2. Have notorious parent 3. Be real witch to everyone.
But, I’ve got to be good now because in between teaching Chemistry at the local high school in Assjacket, West Virgina, I have to save all humanity from the forces of evil and…blah…blah…blah…keep the Halloweeneedtokissourassesgoodbye apocalypse from happening. With the help of an off-the-charts, smoking hawt instructor/boss, I might just have a fighting chance—if I can stop drooling over his naked chest. Dane Calvin agreed to teach me how to use my abilities responsibly, but he’s never met a witch as hard-headed as me. And, of course, it doesn’t help that the last time I used my powers it ended in tragedy, so forgive me if I’m a little magic gun-shy. I might be made for wicked things, but when he’s watching, I’ve got to be good because Wicked Is As Wicked Does.
My writing journey started with an old fashioned typewriter. When my family brought it home, I knew what I wanted to do. All those stories rolling around in my head could finally get out. The press and click of the keys were satisfying in their own right, but when I pulled out a finished page, I knew this was for me. Since then, I 've graduated to a laptop, but the stories still find a way out.
I'm a breast cancer survivor, a teacher, a wife, a mother, and a writer. Nowadays, I strive for less procrastination and more tact. The battle wages on.
Loved Evie and Dane's story about the last Hale witch needing to save the world !! It was full of sassy zingers, hot sex and really wacko witches that have it backwards on "wicked witches" !! Perfect addition to the Magic and Mayhem Universe, like ve the Baba Yaga !! 4⭐'s !! I received a gifted copy of the book and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.
I loved this book! It has humor, drama, romance, and a smoking hot hero! The book deals with the battle between good and evil-- a battle as old as time. What's not to love?
Assjacket is not your normal small town. It has a ton of secrets and only a few are revealed during this book. Which means there is lots more fun to come.
Evie doesn't trust Dane. He has to convince her he is there to help her, not harm her. Once he succeeds, things get HAWT!! The story goes full circle--it starts with evil totally disrupting Evie's life and ends with Evie triumphing over that evil.
I really enjoyed this book. It held my attention from the beginning and kept me hooked with twists and turns, the characters are likable, and the story is well-written. Grab your copy today.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Great! She has been running her whole adult life from the belief that she is "wicked" and the person who made her believe it. Taking a teaching job seems like a good way to stay off anyone's radar. However things have a habit of not being as they seem. A curse, a signed contract, a talking cat, unused powers and a teacher who sends her blood pressure soaring are all woven into a delightful read that will have you racing to the finish. Can she relearn how to use her powers and that she's not wicked to end the threat to her and the community that has taken her in?
This is my first book to be read by Cherie. Evie is a witch but not a practicing one. Since seeing terrible things happen to her mom all those years ago she's suppressed her powers to live a normal life. She loves being a teacher. But living in assjacket, paranormal is all around her. She just doesn't know it. The new principal shows up and turns her world upside down. Dane is there for reasons he can't tell Evie about. However, his feelings for her could jeopardize both their lives. They have until Halloween to fix it or be lost forever.
The heroine did the one thing that I just cannot stand. It's right up there with going into the basement when you're in a horror film. She knows she's not safe, but goes out, alone, at night, to meet up with someone that she knows is not on the positive side of good. No. Don't be written as an intelligent woman and then be monumentally stupid just for the sake of driving the plot. There was not enough good in the rest of the book to overcome that failure. Weak character development. Not a particularly unique plot.
Tragedy when young leaves Evie doubting herself & her heritage. Trust is hard for her but the curse her heritage protects against is coming whether shes ready or not. Baba Yaga sets the stage and Assjacket plays it's part as Evie embraces her life.
After witnessing the death of her mother at a very young age Evie has been on the run and hiding out from the person who killed her. She has been living in Assjacket, West Virgina teaching chemistry at the local high school. Evie loves teaching and living in Assjacket with all the friends she has made. Evie hasn’t had many friends in her short life as she was too afraid of becoming close to other people and them finding out her secret.
You see Evie is a witch and she has not used her powers in a very long time. She tries to fly under the radar when it comes to using her powers hopefully no one can find her. If she uses her powers then they could be traced and then she could be in danger.
But Evie is in luck there is a new guy that has moved into town and he knows that Evie is a witch and has come to train Evie how to use her powers becomes trouble is brewing. Evie must learn to use her powers so that she can protect herself and other people like her not to mention the people who live in Assjacket. The people who are responsible for her mother’s death are on their way to Assjacket for Evie.
Evie has come to love her friends, her teaching job and the little town of Assjacket and no one is going to take any of that away from her if she can help it. She will fight tooth and nail to keep what she has built in Assjacket, West Virgina.
Can Evie stop what is coming? Can she stop the people that are out to destroy her and the people of Assjacket? Can she save her life and everyone else’s’? To find out pick up your copy of Wicked Is As Wicked Does today. Trust me you will not regret it.
Wicked Is As Wicked Does has been an amazing and thrilling ride. It will take you on emotional roller coaster of a ride. I don’t think I have laughed so hard in a long time and around my house we laugh a lot. My husband keeps me in stitches all the time so if you can top that you are doing good and let me tell you Cherie Marks did just that. I am stilling laughing at certain passages in the book to this day. I don’t think I will forget it for a long time to come and I do plan on borrowing some of the things she said and using them when the opportunity arises.
I can’t wait to read me more about Evie, Dane, all the other characters and Assjacket, West Virgina. Or at least I hope Cherie gives us more of Evie and Assjacket’s little world. If you want to read a good book this is not the first book Cherie has written so check some of her other work as well.
The romance and action are perfectly balanced in this amazing book. I love the characters and the interactions they have. Marks is a new writer to me, so thank you Robyn Peterman for gathering such excellent writers in this imaginative & fascinating series.
Loved this book. The suspense of of not knowing why the last Hale Witch has to fight evil or how this evil was going to be presented was a page turner. Not to mention the romance with her trainer/Boss Dane. This was a good book I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
Evie is on the run from her wicked self. Determined not to use magic, she wants to finally settle down and be normal. But she chose the wrong place for that. I really enjoyed this face-paced, action-packed romance. It kept me guessing to the end.
