Revelling in unparalleled bliss on her little blue planet, Chelan has found peace in the loving arms of her Warlord.
She’s sheltered from war and strife on all fronts, earthly and Imperial, and utopia seems assured. But her tranquil existence is about to be turned upside down, in the span of a single heartbeat.
All hell has broken loose throughout the galaxy, and the fallout will twist its evil tendrils about her once again.
A deadly bird of prey has arisen, and his quarry is Chelan. She is the conduit through which he can force Korba to his knees, and he will stop at nothing in his bid to capture her.
The Iceanean warlords are cool and bad*ss. I still think Chelan is a worthless heroine. Throughout the 4 book series she goes through bouts of depression. She even goes as far as attempting suicide, sometimes halfheartedly. The author has developed her character in such a way that she's sooooo beautiful, sooooo well built, sooooo demure, etc. that every male she comes into contact with wants to have sex with her. That being said Chelan has no trouble giving men the wrong idea then saying 'no' when it gets hot and heavy. She likes to sleep and snuggle with them but has trouble going all the way. Throughout the series she's got a harem of highly ranked tough guys enthralled with her 'feminine beauty' but she can’t seem to settle on just one of them.
She's so indecisive at times it borders on her being a doormat. Granted, some bad stuff happens to her throughout the series. It's the way she handles the bad times that I have trouble with. She has zero female friends. It's all about Chelan and these tough guys pandering to her low self-esteem. I got so tired of reading over and over how beautiful, desirable, etc. Chelan is. It was just too much for my taste. I also wish the author could have written in some male characters who did not instantly fall in love with the crazy chick. I so wanted Chelan to find her inner courage but I don't think she did. In the end she still just went with the flow while circumstances and others dictated her life and future.
Chelan is in love the Overlord Korba as long as he's with her. When he's on a mission, she's in love with Fremma. When she hides out on Earth she's in love with Dar. I kept thinking of that old song, "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with". I have no respect for her fickleness.
Shae Mills is a good writer and I love the world she built. The male characters are very cool. Unfortunately I couldn't warm to Chelan. When the h would get into her internal debates I would skim as quickly as possible.
Some major characters die but we get no details. They’re just gone. I didn't find the ending that fulfilling.
do you ever read something and think " why would the author do that? stop it! Stahp!" that was me during the whole book. the reasoning behind the characters doing things, sucks. I wish I could have resisted buying this book. but I had to know what happen to Chelan. I really wish I would have left it to my imagination.
This book, the fourth in the wonderfully entertaining series by author Shae Mills was the perfect continuation of Chelan’s story within the Empire She has been on Calley (Earth) while her Warlords are away battling for the Empire on their Ribuses. Then after finding out that Jason was really Dar, allowed him to impregnate her. When Dar must go back to Ribus 8 to aid the losing battle, a brutal man arrives on Earth and takes her to his battleship. He is Talon, Korba’s younger brother he didn’t know existed. The tale becomes very emotional and complex, as Chelan endures the worst. Will she make it through the New Empire without losing herself? You’ll have to read to find out. My favorite series of all time!
This book broke my heart. I cried as Chelan lost so many loves, laughed as she found some that had been lost, cried again for her heart ache of losing more. Then she was found and given the greatest rewards allowed to a woman. Shaw delivered the best story of the Ribus series within these pages. A must read for all Rings series fans. A great heartfelt thanks to Shae for writing such a master piece. Here's hoping for MORE stories with Chelan and her loves.
I loved this series. It took me awhile to read this last one because I didn't care much for the 3rd book and was afraid where this one would go. However I loved this one I only wish that there was an epilogue or something more. Lol
I loved all four books, I was not ready for it end.
I loved her warlords.....they are missed. But I guess it couldn't be a totally happy ending. These books really had me emotionally invested in the story.
Definetly five stars. I could not put this book down. You will experience a lot of emotions with this final installment, but oh so worth it. Please buy you will not be disappointed
Chelan can not have a woman card... Chelan can not have a chic ticket... Chelan can not have a tramp stamp... ...NOT EVEN A LIBRARY CARD! Even in sci-fi fantasy a woman can not, absolutely not, have a relationship with anyone who murders her newborn. There must be a tiny bit of reality check even when ET's are are coming in hot. It is a clear case of testosterone overdose that killed too many brain cells. To put it crudely; her alien men screwed her brains out. She is the epitome of sci-fi space opera original heroine.
She's screaming, "No No Please don't rape me. I'll never give you my body freely" in one breath then, in the next she's wailing, "I need you to put your love child in my womb so I have a part of you with me forever!"
The book ended well. For as much as the author unhinged all her previous work throughout this book she managed to get it together in the end.

This book by Shae Mills is the latest addition to and epic story. Chelan is goes from the depths of hel! to her only wish. Getting there is a challenge and she fights her way through challenges greater than the empire itself.
This was seriously an amazing continuation for this series. I really wasn't sure how it was all going to go. Meeting Talon and finding out who he is was a complete surprise and during the whole book you truly don't know if you hate him or love him. He's such a villain and you hate him for how he treats and does to Chelan and everyone else she loves it then as he book progresses he comes to love her.
I knew that Dar was going to tell Korba about the baby and when Chelan took had her baby and he was taken and killed I died alittle right there. It seemed that Talon and Lakit were understanding and being empathetic to everything she went through and then they supposedly kill him, the last bit of Dar...just so many tears. Chelan finds out her men are all gone and doesn't want to be used by Talon and tries to commit suicide. I've read other reviews and everyone gives her such a hard time about what she did. I truly think if all of that happened to me: I love each all my men got killed, I saw got my baby taken away and killed, she no longer has anyone or a place for herself and doesn't want to let Talon win...to me I can understand and empathize with her. Happy that she didn't die and continued but still so much happened to her.
I was happy the way the book ended. tons of twists and turns. I know that Freema and Dar are supposedly dead and gone but I really wonder...Yanis survived and was with Freeman right before and one thing Chelan promised Dar to do for her was to try to find Freema if at all possible. Granted he would have to be alive to do it but...I don't know just wonder...but that could just be wishful thinking. I always loved Freema and Dar and I did like Korba but he always put his military career and war over Chelan which I never liked. Dar and Freema were willing to give it all up for her...by the end Korba does supposedly too and I like him more now than I did...
One other thing I truly loved was finding out Dar's baby had made it. Can't say enough how much I cried when I found out. Not just for Chelan but if Dar truly is gone at least we have little Jason to hold onto. Get teary eyed just thinking about it.
So unanswered questions are Freema, Dar, Yazen (never hear about him and I always liked him a lot), just so many. I've heard there might be a 5th book so really interested to find out what could happen next...but overall this was an amazing read and I would definitely recommend this series. So many twists and turns, emotions up and down, and so many extremes. Just So amazing.

I have re-read all of RIBUS 7 books again I do enjoy them very much and they are all a very wonderful read i have to really like a book to re-read it again and again because I can recall every book I have ever read all I have too do is look at the photo cover or read the first page and I recall every word...in away I kind of hate that, but that's the way it is for me.but you know Shea I think this book was the best one of the book's out of all the RIBUS 7 series I am hoping the next one is as good..you also have a great byline on this series to keep it going as you have quite a few people you could write book's about like Marri pear her up with an earth man that would be something wow..you also gave Chelan a little more spunk in this book,I've never liked a weak female.I've never understood how a woman can let a man miss treat her.they do have to sleep !! it's been one year and 6 months sense your last RIBUS 7 book how much longer???? keep up the great work
The complex and tragic events leave Chelan on the verge of madness. She mourns all the empire and every friend made, her life in turmoil, she attempts to kill her self. The evil that reigned from Talon taking over further throws her into a tail spinn. The life of as warlords wife is not the best plan to keep a husband when they seem to drop like flies.
Romance meets science in love story for smart readers
I really enjoyed this whole series. So many twists and turns in the book. Also a wonderful and surprising HEA! I absolutely cannot put it down! If you appreciate smart women, high-tech and sexy aliens this one is for you!
This book will carry you from the mountaintop to the deepest valleys of grief. And then back to the pinnacle again. The journey is epic and entirely worth the read. Unparalleled. 5 stars, 4 spice
