I think this was an alternative to the more popular Reader's Digest. Of course, because it wasn't as popular, it became a defunct magazine. Despite this, it was a good picture of a time almost immediately before Marcos's declaration of Martial Law. In addition, it also enlightened me with regard to the population problem Philippines had, even then.
The articles were mostly good, and provided smooth reading. I loved one contributor's jibe at Marcos:
Anno Marcosi Edilberto Guerrero
Anno Marcosi, night is masks, all black. O my truncheon it, they truncheon it, bless it with teargas. My own grief I spurn, it stinks, my soul shivers among piled carcasses. O subversive sweetness? There again, go they. Damn them all - brutes!
