Austin Baines is a workaholic omega living in the upscale town of Skaneateles, New York. He’s unmated, but he doesn’t mind. He’s happy with his life. He runs a phenomenally successful wine business, has the respect of his peers, and has complete freedom. Cody Howell left the rat race of Manhattan behind three years ago to start Blue Bells Weddings in Syracuse. The alpha figured that wedding planning wouldn’t be much different from running a consulting project, and he was right. He’s been very successful, and he’s content with his life. When Cody meets Austin on a last-minute business deal, sparks fly immediately. Both men try to keep things professional, but the sudden appearance of Austin’s twin brother from Texas raises the stakes. Adrian Baines might look like Austin, but the pair couldn’t be more different. For starters, Adrian is an alpha, and he’s an archconservative alpha determined to bring his wayward omega brother back into the fold. Adrian promised his best friend, Kirby, years ago that Austin would be his omega. Now they’re both here to bring Austin to heel. Can Austin resist the demands of his estranged family, or will his fierce need for independence keep him alone forever? Or can Cody help him find a third option, one that will lead them both toward happiness? This is an alpha/ omega non-shifter male pregnancy gay romance book. This book contains sexually explicit content not suited for those under the age of 18. The book is approximately 60,000 words, has a happy ending and does not end in a cliffhanger.

This was a an entertaining story despite it's dark subject matter.a Austin owns a wine shop and warehouse and makes millions on his own even though he is an omega. Cody owns a wedding planing business and does ok financially. Doing business together, they are attracted to each other although neither one is will to take a mate or be claimed. Cody gets sucked into Austins life when Austins twin brother shows up to take him back to Texas with him so he can be claimed by a friend. Violence, treachery, disloyalty, hate, cult psychology, betrayal, PTSD, abused omegas, snow storms, love, hot gay sex, Mpeg, and friendships all play a role in this page turner of a novel. A must read for Aiden's fans.

I took a day to write this review to try to let my ire and disappointment cool down some, but I'm still really irritated. I don't want to be unkind and Aiden has been one of my favorite writers in the past, but this book takes some lazy ways out and I just can't give it but so much of a break. Aiden has been churning out a huge number of books lately and they seem to have become very formulaic. They have been variations on Successful-Omega-Who-Doesn't-Want/Need-An-Alpha-Discovers-True-Love. We've had a vintner, a doctor, a lawyer, and now a wine merchant. Okay, it's a winning plot basic. But then, into this trope, we now have inserted some of the most over-the-top villains ever. They seriously could have been wearing black hats or twirling mustaches. So I can even roll with that and enjoy them getting a smackdown or two. Then everything falls apart. Cody, our alpha wedding planner, is told a huge lie by one of the villains (after this guy has proven his despicable nature) AND CODY BELIEVES IT WITHOUT QUESTION! He doesn't ask Austin, his omega lover, anything about it, just completely believes it. Then way, way, way overreacts to it in a way that would be unbelievable for anyone but especially this character. As a matter of fact, if I was Austin, there would be nothing Cody could ever do to win me back. Here's where I got so mad because this whole situation is nothing but a cheap dramatic ploy on Aiden's part. It was easy and emotional but made no sense at all. He was just trying to create drama and cut corners. Where is the deep, resonating, emotionally complex writing of Sweet Kisses or Omega Beloved--Reimaged? These two characters don't even have chemistry and the sex has none of the heat of Aiden's other books. I think Aiden is just rushing stuff out the door. I know their are some glowing reviews but I personally was too mad and disappointed to finish the book. I will always be excited to check out any new works but this one was a miss for me.

Book ends at 57% the rest is another story

I did enjoy the story of strong willed Omega, Austin and forward thinking Alpha, Cody. It was nice reading about an Omega who was strong willed and fiercely independent who wasn’t interested in mating with an Alpha until he met Cody. Austin’s brother was a major a hole and all his cultist thinking and his horrid friends were just as bad.

I would have given the story a higher rating but I had a hard time with the way Cody acted towards the end. I thought it was out of character for him to believe the worst and I didn’t like the way he treated Austin during that time. While I do understand the need for drama, I thought it could have been handled better and been more in tune with the MCs character.

*** Beautiful Austin, our Omega businessman with brown ponytailed hair and hazel eyes, is tall, and independent.

He runs a multi-million dollar wine business, where he's respected, well liked, and happy.
* With wavy gold-blonde hair and gray eyes, Alpha Cody,

runs a Wedding Planner business where he needs help choosing proper wines. The guys make a contract and things are moving along nicely. That is until Austin's mean brother shows up with Kirby in tow. They want to take Austin back home and force a claim on him. It's been 10 years since Austin left home and made his way in the world, and became successful. He is not interested. Adrian and Kirby continue to threaten and harass, and the cops are called, and a protection order is in place. But these cruel men don't listen, and cause huge problems before they are caught and jailed.
Meanwhile through business deals, and hanging out,
Cody and Austin get closer.

We see networking for expanding businesses, and the ways to handle harassment, as we also see our men become lovers. They are super hot together.
When trouble shows up yet again, and Adrian lies to Cody, Cody drops the ball - big time - -by believing him. It's a tumultuous time.
Cody really ticked me off with his actions, and he made me mad. Luckily he redeemed himself. Aiden Bates writes great Alpha/Omega, M/M MPreg non-shifter, (or shifter) books. I look forward to reading his work, anytime. His tales have been leaning toward the Omegas having more independence and strength. It's a different twist than most Alpha take charge stories.
Here the book ends at 56%, and then there is another story thrown in for free.
ENJOY !

Lots of drama

The Alpha and Omega world continues to pull me in. Just like ours there are good and bad people. It sucks when the bad people are family. Austin left his family for that reason. They wanted to make him mate with someone that he didn't want. He is a successful businessman and has met a nice Alpha. His life is good. His brother is a jerk and wants to take him home to be a "good Omega". He tries to mess everything up for Austin. I liked how strong and smart Austin is and I like that Cody, his Alpha is supportive and tries to do what's right, even when he messes up.

I liked this one, a lot. Obviously you have to suspend belief with an Mpreg book, but that is not usually a problem for me because I love the idea. Austin and Cody were both awesome characters, even though Cody did have a few genetically-induced-alpha – brain freezes. Cody is an alpha, and Austin an Omega…they have genetic predispositions, but Austin’s is a bit warped (he really did not make a good omega…at first) and Cody was willing to accept that Austin was different…and also right about the omega getting nothing out of being claimed. In most Alpha Omega stories, the omega comes across as worthless and less than. Austin said screw that and moved away. More power to you buddy. Then his alpha twin brother shows up and tries to bully his way into Austin’s life…and his money.

Cody didn’t want an omega, until he met Austin…and then Austin didn’t want an alpha…and round and round we go. Until he did and then he did, too. I loved the back stories, Cody and Austin were pretty well fleshed out, and I liked their relationship. You know eventually they will go through the claim, but I was glad the love came first. But the other stuff was little bit much.

There is a lot of family drama, police being called on a twin, threats and a bit of miscommunication. I was glad Austin didn’t bow to any of the pressure and threats, but instead called their bluffs. Again, more alpha than Omega. The only time it got weird, for me, was when Austin went from totally hating and not wanting kids, to not only having his own, but adopting two others…and became the omega that he hated on the whole book. That didn’t sit too well with me. And the way Paul remained “traumatized” and ignored the fact he had kids, but was able to fall in love with another man, again…very unrealistic to me and made me roll my eyes. But, for the most part, I loved the story and slow burn between Cody and Austin. So, if Mpreg is your thing…read it.

This was a well-paced and interesting story. There was a little difficulty in believing Cody's behavior at one point, even though of course it was only there for dramatic effect and to add tension and suspense. But the entire thing was enjoyable. It was gratifying to get all the loose ends tied up at the end, too. I really liked the fact that the alpha and omega from snowed in were different than usual. Both the physical and personality differences. It was refreshing to have a very independent omega and a shorter and less overall aggressive or dominant alpha. It made them seem more like they could really exist, which makes getting lost to the story easier.

This was hands down the best m/m alpha/omega romance story I've read. It wasn't too long or short. I liked the conflict with Austin and Adrian. There was actually a touch of suspense and danger, which I love. I like how Austin was very independent because most stories portray omegas as slaves to their hormones. He dated. He had his own business. He was successful. Even though Cody was the alpha, he didn't push Austin around.

The only thing I didn't like about this book was the bonus story. However, since it was not the main story, I didn't allow it to affect my rating.

hmmm....I'm not really sure about this one. The world is based on Alpha, Omega and Betas. But no mention of paranormal or shifters. Although, they do mention the heightened sense of smell. This was a little scattered towards the end. It felt rushed. I felt it was a little unrealistic to go from not wanting kids to suddenly having 3. There were some editing issues, mostly in the last chapter, an epilogue. It was a sweet story and I liked it.

An alpha wedding planner falls for a beta wine store owner, who has to fight off his twin brother who is trying to drag him from New York to Texas. His brother belongs to a cult and wants his brother to mate with his alpha friend who says he has had a claim on him for 10 years. Too bad the wedding planner has gotten the brother pregnant and will fight to the death to keep his omega and unborn baby.

Extremely enjoyable book. I loved that Austin was an assertive omega. He wasn't going to bend to fit into anyone's mold. He built a very successful business and a wonderful life that was outside the 'norm'. I loved that Cody wanted Austin just as he was. I liked that he was able to admit that he needed to adjust his perceptions and apologized sincerely when he made mistakes. The side characters are just as interesting and really fill out the story. The ending left me smiling.

In terms of plot of story writing, this book was fine all the way until the last few chapters. Then it felt like a lot of things were rushed and forced, mainly the mpreg, to force Austin and Cody. Overall, it was good.

Now, I have a few personal tiffs to express. Austin, the omega in this story, is from Austin, Texas. As Cody expresses, why name a kid after the city you live in? It happens, I should know, I currently live in Austin Texas. In fact, I've lived in Texas my whole life. Dallas, Houston, and now Austin. All major cities that are rather liberal. LIBERAL! Houston had a lesbian Democratic mayor a few years ago and Austin is so liberal it's a joke. So for Austin's family to be uber conservative, have a ranch, and all that bad Texas mumbo jumbo, it just didn't work for me. Especially the Texan accent, but that's another whole issue.

I think if Austin's family lived outside but near Austin, between any of the major cities, yeah, I could see it. That 150 mile drive between Austin and Houston is just small towns, ranches, farms, and possibly racist cops. I just don't see that fitting geographically with a ranch in the city of Austin.

Now the accents. I can concede that if Austin's family really is super traditional conservative and they live on a ranch, yeah, Austin probably has a bit of an accent. In those types of families, the younger generation spends more time with the older generation, and they do have a bit of a southern twang. Just a bit. Overall though, from my experience, it's not Texas that has a deep drawl, it's those states like Tennessee, Indiana, Kansas, etc. that have those deep accents.

Austin being 29, a millennial, and the same age as my sister, I just didn't see him having a noticeable accent. Especially if he has been living in New York state for 10 years. Millennials tend to have softer accents because they pick up a lot of vocal cues from television and online videos. Our spoken language has become a lot more uniform sounding.

Bates does mention that not all Texan's are like this, despite almost every character referring to the Texans as "Texan boys" and having all these preconceived notions based on probably real life stereotypes about Texas. A lot of people think that Texas is very conservative, but the big cities are liberal, and that is enough to actual make Texas a swing-state in this year's presidential election. It's not so cut and dry. Again, Bates mentions it a few times, but it still felt like a big slap in the face for Texas.

That aside. I loved the entire plot about Austin and his twin brother fighting over Austin's right to be autonomous. As a woman, I identified with it really well. Women are told they can't be successful in their careers, they need a man to care for them, they need to be subservient to their husband's, they only need to make and care for babies. You'll find that mentality in those crazy religious cults like the FLDS cult (not in Texas, btw). These crazy people are real! Add on race to this, because Alpha supremacy is a lot like white supremacy, the entire conflict in this was startlingly real and harsh.

As a reader you know Austin is in the right. You know his brother is wrong. You know if the laws of the land are upheld then Austin should be just find. But justice is sadly not always blind. If it was we wouldn't have so many issues with the law today with fucked up judges trying to undermine marriage equality or freedom or religion. I'm looking at you Alabama. The story addresses this and always has this underlying "but what if the system is biased?" feeling.

I think the romance was okay. The Alpha, Cody, wasn't very Alpha like. I enjoyed that he was a real person, not some caricature or male masculinity, but he really lacked much... ambition? He was really respectful of Austin's wishes, and he was mostly a perfect gentleman. He didn't force himself or his wishes or his beliefs on Austin, and overall, that's why they went well together. Their attraction was mostly A/O made, but they worked.

Still, the end was bad. Cody suddenly becomes stupid and I just couldn't sympathize with him, but Austin was also super stubborn and probably also acted a bit dumb. Though he was dealing with shit so I'll forgive him.

This whole thing has been one long rant, but this is one of Aiden Bates's better books.

I found this a good read, with just the right amount of tension concerning the characters involved, and some sweet romantic themes popping up throughout. It also managed to move around the sometimes skeevy concept of alphas and omegas in an interesting way that kept me engaged in the book.

There is quite a bit of formula for this book but as the occasional read I do enjoy that. Austin is an omega, but one that isn't looking to get claimed and be owned. He has his own life, friends, and very successful business. He left his family behind ten years ago when his twin brother, Adrian (an alpha), began following a cult with beliefs of omegas being low and worthless. To his surprise and displeasure Adrian comes back and is demanding that he do his family duty, submit to his chosen alpha, and hand over his business and funds. Austin isn't looking to roll over though and is surprised (and a little horrified) about the legal battle he finds himself in to stay independent like he wants.

Just as all this is happening Austin meets another alpha, Cody. Cody is also a small business owner, a wedding planner. The two meet up as a business relationship but have an attraction that means they could be more- though it is difficult on both sides. Between Austin not wanting a claim and Cody thinking that means he doesn't even want a relationship the two have things to work out. The family drama certainly doesn't help.

The things that went on with the whole alpha omega thing from the cult really made my skin crawl. Omegas are seen as barely even human, property with no ability to make choices and very little purpose beyond breeding. They were willing to take omegas by force as they saw no problem in that.

"Do you think I wanted your brother before he claimed me? No." He chuckled. "I fought tooth and nail. I cried all the way to my claiming, and all while he was getting me ready. I begged him not to do it. But this is what I was meant for Austin. I serve alpha."

Really, can you read that without full body shudders? The real kicker is that once an alpha claims an omega, leaving that omega (such as by dying) means the omega will die. So an omega is stuck with an alpha for life; if Austin was forcefully claimed he would be trapped and nothing could save him. It gave a real sense of fear hanging over the whole story because people who are willing to do that would not be above any tactic to get what they want.

This story is complete to a t if you are worried about that. The last chapters explain everything- and I do mean everything. Every character that has come through has their story explained, laid out, and given direction. It was actually quite satisfying as otherwise there would be several loose ends lying about. As a story to read every so often this formula worked out very nicely and gave a good read that was fully engaging and had a fascinating story.

The book blurb does a much better job of describing this book than I ever could........
********************************************************************

I loved this book. I thought it was great. The book blurb does a pretty good job describing this book but reading it was so much better. I was lost in the world Aiden penned. This in not a typical alpha/omega story romance line. We have Austin, an omega, and Cody, alpha who got together "strictly for business reasons" rather than pursue the obvious attraction between the two. Both thought of having "friends with benefits" might work but was afraid it might affect their business relationship: Austin, owner of a profitable liquor business and Cody, the wedding planner. However, outside influences decided to interfere or possible push their attraction to higher level. His twin brother, after a ten year absence decide to force a mate between Austin and Kirby , an alpha from his past; in a bid to take over his assets. In this world Aiden created, Omega Austin, is subject to forced mating's, a slave to the Alpha, popping out babies and not having the right to own his own property. Alpha Cody does not exhibit the stereotypical traits for he is all for Austin in doing what he wants. I do not want to say more to spoil the book but this was great and entertaining read. We have suspense, we have smoldering attraction between Austin and Cody who want maybe more than was said? Awesome book. Anyone want an entertaining read with a-typical alpha and omega romance this book I recommend. I love the way Aiden writes: sentence structure and word usage. I especially like his "artistic license" in creating the world of Austin and Cody: plus this book is AWESOME.

Giving this one 2 stars because it was... okay. I've been reading a ton of Aiden Bates' books lately. They're all on KU, which is terrific, and fill up my mpreg quota without reading about werewolves. It's basically a win-win. Maybe I've been reading too many of his stories too quickly? But they all kind of feel the same to me. It was just really obvious with Snowed In.

This felt like basically a recycled Second Chance. We've got the independent omega who doesn't want or need an alpha, we've got the "oh we're just going to have sex, it doesn't need to mean anything, I don't want/need to claim/be claimed," thing, we've got the , we've got the ridiculously overdone villain.... I basically knew the way this would end from the get-go.

My biggest complaint was the completely uncharacteristic way that . It was basically just a completely unnecessary way to inject even more drama into the story. This on top of the fact that I didn't really feel the connection between Austin and Cody. And the way they changed their tunes re: mating and babies like almost without warning.

Anyway. Not my favorite by this author. I'll definitely try his next one. Just hope it's a step up and breaks away from this formula a little.

I really enjoyed this book, one of my favorites from Aiden so far! Austin has so much personality and confidence and I just adored him! Then there’s Cody with his own strength but absolutely wonderful heart too! These two were great together and I loved their story.

Austin may be an omega but it certainly isn’t going to slow him down or shadow his dreams for his life. He is successful and proud and not even his crazy brother and his backward way of thinking can take that from him. I loved Austin’s ability to stand up for himself and believe in himself. Cody is also successful, I loved that he’s a wedding planner, and initially develops a business relationship with Austin, but it quickly becomes more. They are good together, they have a strong connection but are both still their own individuals, although I loved seeing Cody’s protective side towards Austin.

It’s certainly not all easy for these two, given that Austin doesn’t want a claim, his brother is now around trying to manipulate and control Austin, and there’s his feelings for Cody too. There are some mistakes and misunderstandings and I certainly felt for what these two went through, but I loved how it all came together! This story was intense at times and broke my heart a bit but in the end it shows how powerful and true love can be when you let it in. I totally fell for Austin and Cody and definitely recommend this book, it’s got real heart and emotions.

Snowed In: M/M Mpreg Alpha Male Romance
By: Aiden Bates
5 out of 5 stars

The story Snowed In: M/M Mpreg Alpha Male Romance by Aiden Bates is a fictional Gay short story. Austin Baines is a highly successful wine businessman. He doesn’t have time for an Alpha and doesn’t like kids. Cody Howell is a wedding planner and meets Austin when there is a last minute snag in a client’s wedding. Cody is there when Adrian Baines, Austin’s twin brother who couldn’t be more different, comes to tell Austin that he has arranged his marriage and he is to submit. He then hears Austin tell his brother he doesn’t want to get married or to have children. Emotions start to run high. Will Cody and Austin be able to show how they really feel for each other or will their relationship end before it even starts? What happens when they get snowed in?

I found this story has a lot of romance and a lot of conflict. It deals with issues of how Omega’s are treated and are discriminated against by Alpha’s. The characters have their preconceived ideas on how relationships work and have a hard time changing them or even accepting each other. I found myself going through many emotions when reading, anger and sadness, even happiness and hope. I found that I started reading and then all of a sudden I was at the end of the story. I got lost in it.

This is a perfect story of romance and not being judgmental of others. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

“I’m always going to be drawn to you. How we handle it, though, is up to us.”
I loved Austin, who is a spirited and independent omega resisting any traditional notions of being claimed by an alpha. As much as I enjoyed how boldly he defied his domineering brother’s attempts to force him to forfeit his business and submit to a claim, I think I may have been as entertained by how utterly oblivious Adrian was about how out of line he was. I was a little slower to warm up to Cody, who openly owns his own brusque personality, but his firm support of Austin’s right to make his own choices was endearing and the intensity of the attraction between them, despite their efforts to resist each other, made it clear just how good together these two are. The first time their relationship is seriously tested though, Cody’s lack of faith and unwillingness to even attempt to communicate with Austin triggered my aggravation with him, and it definitely took me a little while to get past my disappointment in him, even after he owned up to his behaviour. This is an entertaining choice if you enjoy an mpreg with characters who don’t fall into the stereotypical Alpha/omega roles on their way to happily ever after.

Austin and Cody had a very interesting love story here in this book. Austin is from a conservative traditional home in Texas where as an omega is viewed as inferior and property. His environment at home became worse because of his twin an alpha, Adrian, joined an alpha elitist cult and promised his friend, Kirby, that Austin would be his. Austin ran from that home when he received an inheritance from an omega uncle. He has become successful not allowing any alpha to force him to submit. Cody comes to Austin for help when he is in need of good wine that his clients would approve of. Their is instant connection between them, Austin has his reason not to act as does Cody. Cody cannot see himself tied to anyone while he is busy with his business and he has his own omega stereotypical thoughts that need to be corrected. Those assumptions cost him and Austin a lot of heartache, when Adrian preyed on those assumptions to get them broken apart. I was not surprised at the pregnancy but was surprised of the twist between Kirby and Adrian's omega at the end.

I can not believe that Austin & Adrian were twins. They were total opposites in every way possible. Austin is an omega who owns his own liquor business. While reading this book I have cussed and screamed like no tomorrow. I am so glad that Austin & Cody met, even if it was strictly business. Cody is an alpha who is also a wedding planner. I can't tell you just how wonderful it was when Austin & Cody got together sexually. The chemistry was definitely there, but Austin did not want to be claimed by any alpha. I don't blame Austin for that considering how his family treated him. I was amazed he turned out as good as he did. Austin & Cody complimented each other very well. I cried at the end, but they were happy tears. If you are looking for a book that is intense, heartbreaking & HOT all in one then look no further. Just remember love is love no matter what race or gender.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Austin is a spunky Omega who will tell you how it is. If he doesn’t want something or someone he will let you know. ¬ Austin owns and sells wine for a living and is doing pretty good for himself. Cody is an Alpha who owns his own Wedding Planning services. Austin and Cody get together purely for business. But you already know they didn’t keep it business for long. So what happens when Austin’s twin Alpha Brother turns up and demands that Austin come home and mate with his friend? I’ll tell you hell breaks loose. The police get involved. They end up with lawyers. What happens when a pretty big secret gets out? Will Austin and Cody be able to stay together despite Austin’s brother and his friend? How does this end? You will have to read to find out. I promise you won’t regret it.

MM Alpha/Omega romance. Austin Baines is an unmated, workaholic Omega living in the upscale town of Skaneateles, New York. He is happy with his life, running a phenomenally successful wine business, has the respect of his peers, and has complete freedom. Alpha Cody Howell left the rat race of Manhattan behind three years ago to start Blue Bells Weddings in Syracuse. When Cody meets Austin on a last-minute business deal, sparks fly immediately. Both men try to keep things professional, but the sudden appearance of Austin's twin brother, Adrian, from Texas raises the stakes. Adrian is set to force Austin in to a claim and take his business from him. A very moving story about the relationship between Alphas, Omegas, and society.

Things I liked:
- Cody calling Austin his when they weren't together

Things I didn't like:
- Adrian & Kirby
- The author doesnt explain the whole Alpha/Omega thing (Are all humans an alpha, beta, omega..? And what are the differences?)
- Cody believing that Austin would sleep with Kirby
- The ending was really rushed (after all the talk about being claimed its mentioned in passing that Cody claimed him)

Two for the price of one!

The main entrée here is a lovely, sweet romance: full of touches, crises, discovery, and the slow-growing of trust. All the feels.

The dessert is "The Big Miracle," a short novel that I can only describe as the love child of "The Big Chill" and "The Day After". Compelling, fascinating, and very very readable.

So happy these two finally took some time to really get to know each other because it sure sounded like they were made for each other. I was surprised how their family grew since neither of them sounded like they wanted children. But they did what their heart's told them to do and they were better for it.

Recommended.

Good Stories

The two stories in here are well written. I really like the characters in the first story. The second story characters are a little all over the place. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
