Maggie Abernathy, best friend Judy, and Judy’s two young sons travel cross country to visit John McIntyre and daughter Chloe at their Montana ranch. Maggie’s convinced herself that she’s only making the trip to fulfill her promise to visit Chloe, but once there she can’t help but fall in love with the horses, the land, the ranch, and the Montana ways of life. With Chloe’s loving antics, Winston’s gift, and a handful of wranglers showing her the ropes, will Maggie have the heart to say goodbye?

I read all three books in the series and loved them! I lived in the Gallatin valley for 16 years and this last book made me really homesick. I loved that unlike many romance books, this wasn't loaded with sex. The characters are realistic. I would love to see another book added to the series. I want to know about Maggie's life in Montana.
You'll laugh and cry but you'll be glad you read this series
When I started reading the first book in this series, I didn't realize it was a series. I generally don't like books where the story doesn't conclude at the end but since all 3 books are out, it's ok. Maggie is a middle aged woman whose life has a series of drastic changes. She is pretty down and looking to spend her summer off from teaching recuperating from cancer and wallowing in the sadness she is stuck in. Her plans are ruined when a handsome pediatrician and his precocious daughter move in next door. They become attached to each other. Eventually, John decides to move back to Montana. He and his daughter, Chloe, love Maggie and Maggie loves them. John wants Maggie to come with them back to Montana but Maggie is afraid to leave the life that she has always known. What ifs are a big part of Maggie's life. Supporting characters weave their way through the story and they really add to it and give it depth. Since it takes place over three full length books, the reader gets to see a lot of Maggie's life. My only complaint with this book is the ending. I would have liked to have seen what happens after the end. A few other miscellaneous things: I did want to smack Maggie upside the head a few times to get her over the line of thinking she was stuck on. And I had to laugh and wonder why the author seemed to have a fascination with throbbing temples, eyes, and thin or toothy smiles, and teeth in general.
I was pleasantly surprised by this series and it is highly recommended to read the three books. It is so worth it. The pace of the series keeps you engaged and by the third instalment, I found myself trying to slow my pace so I can savor the ending.
Maggie has battled and survived cancer during the same time her husband leave her. She is unsettled and doesn't believe happiness is in her future and if it is, could she take the risk of a broken heart. It is during these changes that she befriends a precocious seven year old girl who attaches herself to her. Maggie can't seem to shake little Chloe and the two find they have a bond. Chloe is finding a place in Maggie's heart and soon Chloe father, John, is finding his place, too.
This journey was wonderful and you're elated as Maggie and John find their way to o e another and you're cheering for both of them because they deserve this second chance, but the real gem is the relationship between Maggie and Chloe. Chloe has wisdom beyond her years and is so self aware and she seems to find the right words and feelings to reach Maggie. I loved how the story took its time as you begin to love these characters as the author intended.
“Maggie’s Montana” provides a lovely ending to the trilogy. John and Maggie’s relationship takes center stage in this novel, and all I can say is, it’s about time! Maggie finally comes to grips with her indecision and joins John and Chloe in Montana. There are some lovely scenes and descriptions of Montana’s Big Sky Country.
I know it was a hard decision for Maggie to give up her life and career in Michigan and move to Montana. However, the series was really about Maggie deciding to build a home with John and Chloe. I felt like the book dragged once they were all together on the ranch. Yet, I loved these characters. I’m glad I read this series through to the end.
After reading all three looks on the series, I have to say it was a well developed and enjoyable read. The interaction between the characters can be lived by the reader. The truth is that we cannot stop living when we face obstacles in life because life goes on and we have choices to make, as joy comes from within, no one can make those choices for us. There were times it brought tears to my eyes. For all we sentimental read e rd out there, enjoy.
A trip to Montana with Judy, Harry and Walter turns into the adventure of a lifetime. Chole and John are settled in at the ranch and there’s so much to enjoy. Winston lets Maggie know that she has a place in their life if she’ll take the chance. Will Maggie find the strength and courage to move forward towards a new home and relationship? Recommend Series.
My mother bought me the 1st book in her series as a Christmas present. I loved it so much she proceeded to buy me the next 2. Before I was able to start reading this book, Linda Bradley, was doing a book signing by our house. My mother surprised me with taking me and getting my book signed by Linda!! I absolutely loved this book in this mini series. After reading, I'd have to say it was my favorite one!!
Finally Maggie leaves the safety of her own home and travels to the ranch with her friend Judy and her two boys. Maggie's angst, indecision and self doubt mar a beautiful time with the love of her life. There are beautiful scenes with young Chloe, great horseback rides in the mountains, lots of food and fun. Lovely series about the possibilities of life after breast cancer.
This is my favorite of the three books. Maggie finally comes to terms with the fact she deserves to be happy, and a job is just job. Her self awareness comes slowly, partly because of her first husband, but John and Chloe are just as stubborn as Maggie, all works out well for the three of them.
This trilogy is highly recommended to romance lovers. To get the best impact of the books, start at the first one and you will find it’s a great weekend escape.
This is a wonderful read. I fell in love with Chloe . She is witty and insiteful. Real life issues are dealt with in a very loving way. I really enjoyed this whole series!
Of the 3 "Maggie" books I feel this was perhaps the best. Maggie is such a strong woman, but like in real life she is faced with many doubts and fears. I really can't say enough about everyone from this as I was happy with all of them.
I truly over this book as much as I loved the other two. I was disappointed in the ending as I would have liked to read more! Please give us another book into Maggie's life! It would complete her series!
Maggie thinks way to hard and too long about her relationship with John & Chloe. She loves both father and daughter but, has lots of insecurities and fears about the future.
Great story. I had to read all three books in a marathon
Maggie's story mirrors my own. Thankyou! I just never thought my fears were what other cancer survivors go thru and feel. I hope Linda has many more stories to share. Bravo Maggie Abernathy for choosing life.
I enjoyed this story but I felt it could have been finished sooner with less whining and guilt trips between all of the characters. It was the conclusion to a solid three part series.
What a wonderful story!!! I loved and will be starting book 4 just as soon as I finish this review. I can almost see Montana, the horses, and the mountains.
Finding your place in life is a journey that many of us face time and time again. So glad that Maggie found her way to a life with John and Chloe and a new beginning.
