An unwanted baby from the past…an injured quarterback…a spark of desire…
Hartford Roberts needs a simpler life. A private rehabilitation contract for an injured football player will offer her just that, giving her a summer alone with her client and her son. Not so bad, right?
But her client is no ordinary athlete. He’s Gerard Blackstone: sex icon, the man who broke her heart years ago—and the father of her son.
The hurt between them goes deep, but so does their passion. Will they cling to their scars and drown in the past? Or will the sparks between the former lovers ignite a wild and searing inferno?
Note: This story contains passionate scenes of epic proportions between a sexy, white billionaire and an ebony beauty!
The storyline is good but it didn’t flow. I felt that she should have let me know she was going to keep the baby no matter what rather than let him assume she had an abortion (side note he SHOULD have been there if she went through with the abortion) and also that they were through rather than end the relationship on her part without letting him know. I was pissed when she immediately assumed he had cheated on her when they were together initially WHY did she jump to that conclusion and not believe him when he told her the truth? Because apart from how he behaved when she told him she was pregnant their relationship was solid. A lot of assumptions (wrong) were made by both of them

I feel that this story did not flow well and that there were a lot of mistakes throughout. Different names used for different people and the back and forth between the Hero and Heroine did not make me like them. I felt it was rushed and some development could have been better for the story overall.
The story was good but sometimes wrong names would pop up and you'd have to reread it correctly. I didn't like that Hart was judgmental and quick to believe lies when she was a liar herself. Anyway, I still like the story.
I have read all previous titles by Nicki Jackson and this is not the quality of work I am used to from her. The story felt stilted and it didn't flow well.
I really needed a good book to read and this one started out with a bang. I just wish that the middle and ending were as good. There's just to much repetition.
