Rebecca Belliston loves books and music. Even more, she loves to write both. As an author, she writes clean romances with heart-pounding suspense. She also composes religious and classical-style piano and vocal music. When she’s not writing, she loves to play tennis, make sarcastic comments, or cuddle up with a good book—usually not at the same time. She and her husband have five children and live in the beautiful state of Michigan, which she loves for eight months of the year (she’s a baby about cold weather). This book is a page turner plus a stay up all nighter. The circumstances that led up to the downfall felt so real and described so perfectly, that I know that they could definitely come true. We never know what will happen and we should be prepared.
I love that I could read one book after another in this series. I had to know what and how it happened and it was good not to wait. Although bad things happened in this book I was never depressed too long because they never lost hope for the future. Full of action and romance, Citizens of Logan Pond kept me interested till the end.
The characters were so well described that I felt like I knew some of them by the end. I especially admired Carrie because of her love for everyone and the way she made sure her family were protected. She didn't let her circumstances make her angry.
This is listed as Christian, and I admired most of the characters because they tried to live right, Christianity though was barely mentioned. That's the only downfall I had with this great read. Well, worth the read though!
I really liked this trilogy and i hated to see it end. I wish I had known about the cool stuff on the website while I was reading instead of at the end. The characters were so great and so real. The descriptions so well written you are there. I have a new favorite author now and I'm going to beg for a sequel.
A very good work of dystopian fiction. I classify this one as more of a drama than any other genre. What made this one enjoyable to me was that it's different from many stories of this type. Instead of the sci-fi usuals such as nuclear war, some type of epidemic, and so on this one is based on something I believe more people fear - a collapsed economy. The characters are well-developed and the plot is dramatic, suspenseful, and fast-paced. With a little bit of editing, this edition of the trilogy would be a five-star masterpiece.
was the best. The second, not so bad. But the first one stunk. If you are expecting any action in the first, forget it. I would call the first book a dystopian soap opera. The book version of a "chick flick". For that reason I recommend giving this whole trilogy a pass. Save your money.
This is a different post apocalypse story. Instead of nuclear war or a virus being the cause it's an economic collapse. Still I found these set of novels similar to Alas Babylon since it focuses on a family struggling through this kind of apocalypse.
