Now that you’ve gotten a taste of the Carter Boys, it’s time to dig deep inside the family and unlock the new drama awaiting this band of brothers. From Elijah Carter? The rising music star. Balancing his music life and his woman Jordyn, all while being the humorous glue that holds his family together. To his pretty boy twin brother Trent Carter. The one that can’t seem to get it right with the ladies, and at this point? Isn’t sure if he wants to. Yeah reading about these Carter men and their wild ways is fun, but it’s the women who are the heart and soul of this family. From drama filled baby mamas and childhood sweethearts to future wives and heartaches full of regret. Lets take another trip down to the A where there’s a waffle house on every corner, trapping is a way of life, and sweet tea is law, but when it comes to them Carter Boys, those Carter Girls don’t play…
Just here to update this profile. I'm actually not 25 anymore but I'll be 30 next year haha. Still writing. Wow. Can't believe it. Current book I'm working on as I type this; Moon Child.
Olivia got on all of my nerves. She is super rottdn and what her brothers serves her right. The way she treats people was super disrespectful. I glad I read For the Love of ATL, good to see that crew make an appearance. However it wasn't at all what I was expecting. The Carter boys were some mean hateful kids. The walks down memory lane provide a lot of insight of the characters. I'm proud of Jordyn, and sick of Elijah. The story is really bringing the drama now that old wounds are being opened. I'm shocked at Hoelle, like we know Shiloh is reserved but you dead wrong.
Desiree is by far one of the best authors I came across! After reading a few of her books, I don't want to read anyone else's!! She is beyond creative, NEVER read anything like this before! Ugh I can't stop reading!! Please never stop writing these books! Read ALLL her books!!! They are just that good!
OMGOODNESS, Noelle was a virgin, and she adored Shiloh, but somewhere along the way, she turned to Shiloh's brother, Trent, for comfort, and they became close friends. Noelle wanted to know what she did wrong, why Shiloh wasn't into her sexually, and one thing lead to other. Noelle, after spending more time with Trent, started to develop feelings for him, and vice versa. Noelle, torn between her boyfriend, and his younger brother. Remember, Noelle started out as a virgin! Shiloh loved Noelle, but there were a lot of things that Shiloh went through, that Noelle just didn't understand, that made Shiloh very guarded, and distant. Shiloh was the father figure to his younger siblings, and he had to grow up very fast, and before his time.
Jordyn had to get away from Elijah. Elijah, even after purposely getting Jordyn pregnant, wouldn't change. The entire relationship, was based on sex, but after Elijah found out that Jordyn was pregnant, he wouldn't even touch her. Jordyn came in, and found Elijah with different occasions, with numerous amount of women. Elijah didn't take Jordyn seriously, until he came home, and Jordyn was gone. Elijah didn't realize how much he cared for Jordyn, until he was without her.
Amani, was a childhood friend of the Carters. Amani was African, mixed with Jamaican, dark-skinned, and a beautiful dancer. Throughout Amani's childhood, the Carter boys teased Amani, and it made her very insecure about her complexion, and it affected her even in adulthood. She met Jeremy, and he was the first person that made her feel special. Shiloh was her first love, and he broke her heart, and Jeremy did as well, and she tried to put the pieces of her life back together.
Joy, Amani's best friend, was not your average female. She was all about her business, and her child. She didn't just give her body away, she made you earn it. She spoke her mind, and she was far from a groupie. She was a force to be reckon with when it came to men, especially due to being so guarded. Anthony was the one that was patient enough to get to know Joy, and try to knock down her guarded barriers, and he succeeded.
Olivia, became a drug user, and she slept with men just because she could. Olivia knew she was wanted by many men, and she didn't have to be so promiscuous, but she did it anyway. Olivia, was the only girl, the baby, and her brothers spoiled her rotten. Olivia thought that the entire world revolved around her, but she was sadly mistaken. There was one thing that Olivia wanted Jeremy, but he wasn't your average guy. Jeremy wasn't into Olivia, due to her promiscuous ways. Olivia didn't have a problem with going after what/ who she wanted, and she had a point to prove.
I'm still disappointed in all of these errors, after reading the Carter Boys series, I would have thought the errors would've been fixed. please Desirée, get a new editor, because you're a great writer!
These girls are Queen B's__ the naked truth. The boys need to clean house and to grow the wretched ones out. Now I understand why the guys treat them with so little respect. Olivia is pitiful, but I like her No Sweat
Ummmm….I don’t like The Carters nor the company they keep. I am actually really starting hate the whole Carter series. I am pushing through because I want to read all of Desiree’s work and I know where she ends up and I truly love her later work, but it is so hard to believe this is where she started.
The colorism in here was disgusting and EXCESSIVE, and never met with correction of any sort. The female characters in the book are purely written from the lens of misgynoir…HEAVILY. It was hard as hell to get through this book. I would find some sort of comfort if it was for a purpose but this is just depicting black women as weak, toxic, vapid, hypersexual, petty, jealous and immature playthings for thugs to play with it. The male characters were not much better. It did not matter the age of character, it was just ignorance all around. It was too much.
If any of the characters had anything going for themselves they were insulted, assaulted, robbed, disrespected…just abused for no reason.
I am waiting for the moment she switches her formula up, because everything is predictable right now.
I am a fan! I loved how the Carter Boys & Carter Girls Series ties in together. I will not recap this storry but I loved the way it was writted, how the characters spoke to the reader. There were alot of lessons learned in this story. Kudos to the author for bringing them to light. I hope the next series (Montana's series) will wrap up some of the stories in the Carter Girls book because there were a lot unfinished which was a disappointment for me. I invested 4 days reading both series & I am let with a lot of question particularly after reading Carter Girls. As petty as this may be, it is bothering me not knowing who was hiding in the bathroom stall the night of Shiloh's bday party when Willow was trying to flush the toilet & Hazel snapped a photo capturing who they were but the author never revealed.
Love the Carter's. Period! Read all the Carter boys, now living the Carter girls. She always delivers the new and exciting characters. I'm a fan for life.. can't put it down.
Carter's are always bringing the wild and interesting books. Love these books, will read them all. The Carter's are here to stay!
This book us about the women in the Carter Boys life. They are all different and all have some self confidence issue. They hit on their spoil selfish sister who just take and take from all of the brothers and acting like it's OK. Let not forget about her little secret that she don't think nobody knows. Now on to the next book. What a read? What a read?
While I do appreciate the recap...the begging was extremely slow for me! I thought the entire book was going to be about Amari! Glad I stuck it out...and I am excited to getting the background information on Shiloh! I am enjoying your writing style!
THE CARTER BOYS SERIES MADE ME AWARE OF WHO DESIREE GRANGER IS. BUT THE CARTER GIRLS SEIRES MADE ME APPRECIATE THE AUTHOR'S CREATIVE MIND. I THINK THE AUTHOR SHOULD MAKE THIS SERIES AVAILABLE VIA PAPERBACK & AUDIBLE, THOUGH. I LOVE MY VISION TOO MUCH TO STARE AT SMALL WORDS ON A DEVICE FOR LOMG PERIODS OF TIME. PLEASE ALLOW THIS SERIES IN PHYSICAL COPIES & AUDIBLE, MS. GRANGER!
This bio was excellently written. It gave great insight into the Carter Girls and their lives. Especially the interactions with the various Carter Boys. I look forward to reading Part 3in the Carter Girls saga.
Mannnn I thought the dudes was bad these females are even worst! Noelle nasty af. Trent is still the same selfish dude. Jeremy shocked the heck outta me! Whole first chapter made me mad af! My girl Amari had it rough! I'm just waiting for her time to shine!
I don’t know who to slap! Everyone pissing me off to the max!!! Bruh usually books that get my blood pressure up this bad I never read, but this??? I gotta keep going.
Great introduction to the Carter Girls. Just like the Carter Boys series, their stories will leave you wanting more & how they will fix the mess they got themselves into...Let me get started on Part 2!
Slow and steady wins the race and that is exactly what the author did with Book I of three parts. All the Carter girls are introduced and each story is off the chain! The Crater boys are sprinkled throughout.
Full of what we've come to expect from this author...Full tilt ratchetness! if you haven't read about the Carter boys, I recommend you start there first
I have read The Carter Boys 1-4 and am now getting ready to read The Carter Girls 2. This is just in the last week! I am so into each character and their backgrounds. My heart aches for what the family has been thru with their dad and how it shaped them. I had to download the Kindle app on my phone because I could not get enough of this series. I am addicted and cannot wait to find out what happens next. I had to write a review to express how I am into this series. Well done, Desiree. I look forward to more of your work!
Did not read the Carter Boys, started reading Carter Girls ( The first and second book ), I immediately got the third one. I have enjoyed them so much that I'm going to get the following one when I finish reading it. OMG. I love
