The Oracle's Amulet

Rate this book
The Oracle’s amulet is missing. With its power, a nation will crumble and a mighty queen will be reduced to a mere puppet in the hands of her betrayer. In search of the amulet, an old enemy and an unlikely ally are in Pathen seeking the First Greaneth’s help. In the meantime, Mellis has his hands full with a visitor from Velesi—a young elf looking for his “uncle.” Their quest for the amulet leads them back to Velesi and into Nyloth Woods, and into treacherous territory. Danger comes in many forms. For Alorn, repressed memories open old wounds, and the need to silence the weeping he’s lived with since childhood. Mellis discovers the true essence of the Silverfish and its connection to the girl with the purple shark birthmark. The Oracle’s Amulet leads the Greaneths to a world of wonder and conspiracy, of beauty and death. The discovery of the amulet’s true purpose will change Alorn’s life forever.

*I honestly and voluntarily review this amazing gift of a copy I received from the author*

With that statement in mind, I give this a 4.9999 because as much as I love this author and loved the series and loved the series it's spun off of, there were three instances that stopped my reading flow and like, two little errors. That's as honest as I'll get, honey, because I thought everything else was absolutely brilliant.

I've followed my Elven boys ever since Lily's series, and the first book in their series was a pretty intense start to their new "temporary" lives on Earth. This one? A hundred times more exciting. And usually the firsts are always the better ones XD I really liked this one because of the plot and the adventure they went on. Things were definitely more personal, and though there wasn't as much romance as the first book, this one more than made up for it with the fleeting side stories and constant teases to what I feel will be a bigger epic story. Is it too much to ask that it all just go down in the third book so I don't have to wait? lol

Alorn and Mellis are just great. I loved the writing style, the great pace and the humor. Mellis is and will always be a favorite just because of how silly he can be, but I will say that I think Alorn's getting a little soft. Love seeing how he's changing bit by bit XD But that cliff-hanger. Ugh. The story's main plot finishes, of course, but you're left with such a huge opening for the future that it's just... it's too much for me XD Mainly because I'm a little obsessed with them and to see it end that way.... *sighs* Definite recommend. This series, the other series, this author. All of it.

Good not great

I love Alorn and Mellis, but the storyline is dragging. There's too much going in different directions. I don't know if its on purpose leading us up to separate books or what. Mellis has this going on with his destiny girl. While Alorn has Katherine and Dorlan and the five demons. I just was ready for it be over and then it cliffhanged, which really just pissed me off. I doubt I'll read next one. I started this series because I loved characters from earlier books.

OMG!! Never Stop writing about Velesi Ms. Filloon!! These stories are AMAZING! The Velesi world is a place I could live in always! Alorn and Mellis are two of the best characters I have ever read about. Mellis' snark just makes you happy and Alorn's hurting heart needs to be healed. I was so happy when Tolan showed up and all the mention of Lily and Tharin was great too!

I get so excited when I see you have a new book coming out, I pre-order instantly when I can!
I just LOVE ALL these characters!! Please let Alorn find peace and love. Let Mellis find his destiny and just keep these character's alive in more books!!

Torture of a Cliffhanger!

I love all that is Velesi. Going on this journey with Alorn and Mellis was fun, action-packed, and full of laughs. This book had me falling in love with new characters and spending time with old ones. Seriously though, I need more!!!
