Perfect ending to this series. Loved it a lot. Storyline kept you captivated and hooked, and with all that's happening you wouldn't guess what's in store for them all next. So let me get into this review that is bittersweet, because this is the last book ( Sad Face).. As you know Book #2 Shadowed Ended with Melanie, killing Chris, and therefore becoming the new Alpha of the Oklahoma Pack, you can just imagine what will come next.. BUT believe you me you won't, that's how good the writing to this book was.. Being the new alpha comes with challenges, and for one Jeremy is dumbfounded, he lost his cousin, that in turn wanted to kill him for the rights to become Alpha, now Mel took it over, but she doesn't want that honor. She just wants to be a normal teenager, doing teenage stuff, and with that said she has to come to terms that she is a shifter too and keeping secrets from Tara her best friend is taking a toll on her. This book gets a bit intense, unwillingly Tara saw that she wasn't dealing with normal people at all, her best friends turns into dogs, and her best friend has been keeping secrets and, her boyfriend is dead and he masterminded a plan to kill Jeremy and the rest of the Wilkens clan if the need arises. For these younglings some of these issues is a bit too much to handle. Day by day Mel and Jeremy's relationship gets stronger and gets put through plenty of test, but luckily they are so good together, and with that comes immense strength and to seal it all Love.
Epic ending to The Shadowed Series. It's sad to say goodbye. Will Mel and Jeffrey get their HEA??
Well you just have to read the book to find out..
Happy Reading.. and Thank you Wendi Wilson for one Awesome Series, and sharing it with us the reader / your readers. Looking forward to read more in the future.
I loved, loved, loved books 1 (Shadowed Strength) and 2 (Shadowed Instincts) in this series, and book 3 (Shadowed Ascension) was no different. This book had me invested right from the beginning. How could it not with the way book 2 ended? I had to know how things we’re going to play out between Melanie and Jeremy, not to mention the Oklahoma pack she was now Alpha of, and this book delivered while adding a few more twists and turns along the way, such as two of her friends going missing. Poor Melanie, she had so much to deal with, but the author did an excellent job of tying in and wrapping everything up perfectly. I loved everything about it. I can’t wait to see what Wendi L. Wilson writes next. ☺
Great end to a fantastic paranormal romance series!
I loved this book and how it kept me engrossed and eager to know what was going to happen next. Melanie and Jeremy's love story is sweet and real and everything you want to read in a YA book. Their devotion and support is second to none. This book made me like Declan and Tara even more too.
The stakes are raised in this last instalment and Melanie will have to grow up to be the heroine she was always meant to be. There are clues and twists and heartache, but it all ends on the perfect note.
If you love young adult paranormal romances then this is your next awesome read!
The best book of the series! Highly recommended!!!
Absolutely LOVED Shadowed Ascension! This was, by far, my favorite book of the series. The plot kept me guessing, the romance made me swoon, and the final scene left a tear in my eye as I turned to the last page. Sad to see the trilogy end, but very happy with how it did. Highly recommended series! Check it out. Trust me, you won't regret it!
In Shadowed Ascension, Melanie is trying to deal with the ramifications of her new status as the Alpha of the Oklahoma Pack. Jeremy is still in shock over his cousin’s betrayal and subsequent death. Being the new Aplha brings new challenges, however, and Jeremy’s parents decide to go to Oklahoma to smooth things over for Melanie and hold the fort until she’s ready to take on her responsibilities.
Tara needs time to deal with Chris’ death as well as Melanie’s secret identity. She decides to return home but promises Melanie that she in no way blames her for what happened. Declan volunteers to drive Tara to the airport but events take a sinister turn when the two are abducted by a mysterious assailant who appears to be vying for Alpha and will go to any means necessary.
Melanie receives a chilling message telling her to come alone to a designated place or the lives of Declan and Tara are forfeit. Determined to save her friends, Melanie is prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice but at what price?
The third and final installment in the Shadowed trilogy proved to be as entertaining, fast paced and absorbing as it’s prequels.
It was nice to read from Declan’s point of view. It gave us better insight into his initial feelings for Melanie and the reason behind his motives in the previous installment. His developing feelings for Tara and her reciprocation of them was a nice touch.
Just as I would feel that I had figured out the identity of the assailant, there would be another twist. Some of the decisions that Melanie made were frustrating at times even if her reasons were understandable.
My one gripe was the disappointing and needless death at the end of an extremely likeable character. I was hoping for a spin off series based on this character but it appears that it was not to be. It kind of ruined what would have been a satisfying conclusion to an engaging trilogy. I’d recommend the series nonetheless.
Another great book in the Shadowed series by Wendi! As always, I love how Wendi starts the story right where the other one left off. Melanie and Jeremy have such a strong, beautiful connection, and that's probably my favorite part about this series. Because I'm all about the love and they have so much for each other. Although, I do have to say I was a bit disappointed in some of the decisions Melanie made. I really wanted her to do things a little differently and shake her until she got some good sense into her. lol. Overall, a great series. I do recommend you start with book 1 and read all the way through to book 3!!
Amazing book, the entire series is so great. I hope the story continues. I would love to know how Jeremy and Mel do in college and am dying to find out about Tara's new guy Patrick Shade with a name like that he has to be a supernatural being.
This third installment was just as awesome as the other two. Wilson does a wonderful job of making her characters relatable even when they're going through things that aren't exactly relatable (I mean, I've never shape shifter into a dog..). I thought I had the ending figured out about halfway through but once again, she surprised me. All in all I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for Wendi Wilsons next novel!
OMG! I loved this book I couldn't put it down I had to read all 3 books in 2 days. Not many books can keep me engaged but these books sure did from suspense to love and back to mystery was just pure exciting.
4.5 out of 5 stars because I didn't care for the ending. Overall, I really enjoyed this series and it was different than others I've read. Kept me engaged and was a quick, easy, enjoyable read. Love the connection between Melanie and Jeremey, always.
This was an awesome series and this is by far my favorite of the 3 even though I hate one thing that happened but I guess it's okay. Anyway plenty of action surrounds these two as Mel hones her alpha skills and uses them to help her friends. These two sure seem to get in messes, but in each book the threat and the ones doing the threat changes which make each story unique and on it's own merit. The author continues to keep these ya reads without graphic sex scenes which is a plus in my book. The characters grow and evolve even though Mel is still quick to jump into the old habit of low self-esteem but pulls herself out of it quicker. Great series worthy of the binge read of all 3.
Just like the other two books in this series, I really enjoyed this. It was an easy, fast read. This was the perfect series to take on vacation. It was nice to have the time to read a complete series in such a short period of time. I was a little disappointed by a death at the end (I won't say who it was) as I was rooting for this character to also have a happy ending, but I liked that I never saw it coming. I definitely like surprises. Overall, this is a great series for anyone who likes shape shifting stories and dogs. I definitely recommend it!
Everything is coming to a end as Tara is set to return home alone after the deceit of Chris and the outcome of his bad decisions. Melanie is sad that her best friend had to witness her secrets and the devastation caused by Chris. DeClan helps Tara through it and drives Tara to the airport but they never make it. They disappear and now everyone is scrambling to find them. This book has deception, betrayal and romance with strong characters and awesome friendships. I love this book and series and has a amazing story. I can’t say enough good things about it.
This series was good except for the main character, Melanie. Her negative self image and her continual whining especially after every event, it was draining. The storyline was good though.
After everything they’d already been through, more crap gets thrown at Mel and her friends. And of course Mel does what she always does. But I loved this story just as much as the last one.
The story ended well although my heart broke some, overall, the story ended on a satisfying note. The story was fast paced and the characters rounded out nicely.
this series was a hard 4 stars. it didn't have a lot of mistakes, which is great. It had interesting characters, a cohesive plot, and a believable world. I am a little curious about what will happen to the characters in the future, the alpha issue is still up in the air honestly. And that also contributed to my 4-star. I don't like loose ends at the end of my reads.
I was pretty much wrapped up in the story. A girl finding out she was a Galesburg. Then finding out everything else made the story that much more interesting. This was a good final story to tie in the trilogy together.
