A perfect combination of funny and sweet. Told from the perspective of the lead sheep, a group of sheep jump over a fence to help a boy named Mike fall asleep. But one day sheep #4 doesn't want to jump anymore. Loved the illustrations.

This picture book with a twist on the role of sheep is a 2.5 for me. Mike depends on the sheep that populate his imagination to help him sleep. As they leap over a fence, he counts them, and the repetitiveness lulls him to sleep. But one evening, the reliable routine is disrupted when the fourth sheep simply refuses to do her bit. Tired of jumping, she balks and resists the efforts of the others to bring her in line. Nothing they do or say will change her mind, and poor Mike is suffering from sleep deprivation. An unexpected delivery prompts her to jump over that fence, and she's never seen after that jump. Readers are left hanging as to the contents of the letter until they reach the inside of the back cover. While this picture book can be read on its own merits as a story about a man unable to sleep without some aids, it can also be read as a homage to individuality and not following what everyone else does. Still, it may leave readers with a feeling of "Is that all there is?" and wondering about why the fourth sheep would finally relent and fall in line. Narrated by one of the compliant sheep, this picture book features images of the sheep in grassy meadows but also dark pages that are appropriate for a nighttime setting.

🐑¿Sois de seguir al rebaño o de hacer lo que realmente os apetece? En este cuento, #ElRebaño se nos habla de que no siempre hay que seguir lo que nos imponen.
🐑Eso es lo que le pasa a #Cuatro una oveja que la llaman descarriada y rebelde por estar harta de hacer siempre lo mismo noche tras noche.
🐑La verdad es que es un cuento muy divertido con un final entrañable, porque a veces ser auténtico tiene premio.
🐑Sus autores son #MargaritaDelMazo y #Guridi Un libro con unas ilustraciones entretenidas, dinámicas y muy simpáticas. Con colores llamativos pese a predominar el blanco y negro.
🐑Lo edita @nubeocho a los que agradezco el envío del ejemplar. Es en tapa dura y tiene 40 páginas. Está indicado a partir de 5 años de edad.

Odd little book. The flock is assigned to Mike who counts them while jumping over the fence to help him fall asleep. One night #4 refuses to jump and the flock does not know what to do! Suddenly a letter from Mike to #4 arrives and #4 jumps the biggest jump and disappears - read the book to find out the odd little ending.

Libro divertido que te engancha de principio a fin. Hay muchos cuentos de ovejas y éste tiene un twist diferente. Se puede tomar para pensar en las rebeldías, en la obediencia, el sentido de las cosas y también para jugar con la idea de tener un rebaño de ovejas que nos acompaña a dormir. Y los dibujos son lindos.
