Lia Hill isn't a model. But she's pretending to be.

Just for a few days, and just because she stands a earn a ridiculous amount of money. The thing is, her mind-numbingly boring job as a receptionist at a modeling agency while she tries to sell her art isn't exactly paying the bills in her crappy apartment, and she's desperate for cash. So when the wealthy and handsome Blake Morgan contacts her agency looking for a girl who's "not ostentatiously attractive" to accompany him to a family getaway, Lia leaps at the chance, sending her on the adventure of a lifetime with Blake, his sister, Nicolette and Kevin, his somewhat reserved, but super-hot "assistant."

The Morgan clan is young, beautiful, loaded and tons of unexpected fun. So what's the worst that could happen?

Awesome Story

I loved this story and the fact that it was about places that I knew (D.C.) was a bonus. Loved the characters and this author is going to be one for me to add to my bookshelf!

APB Perspective Review:

I'm always happy when I see a new book by author Nia Forrester , so yes I was very happy to read this book. When I looked at the title I had one opinion of this book , but the author gave me more than I expected. Sometimes in your life you make a decision to do something because you need the money ,Lia chose to be a paid companion . Now that's just the beginning of the story ,Lia meets the man she was hired to work for and then the real story begins . It's a good story ,of family , secrets and what love looks like. It's a story about the expectations we perceive others have for us , the way we torture ourselves by not having the conversations we need to have.Live your truth is the message , this is a good story . I felt there was more that needed to be told .

So many layers

I've always wondered about rich families and what was to them being closed off from the world. This was a great look. Loved how strong and down to earth Lia is. Made it all believable.

Such a good read! The family dynamics in this one were something else. The Morgans appear to have it all, but nothing could be further from the truth. The love that the Morgans had for each other was real, but all the facades and secret keeping to please Daddy was exhausting. I, much like Lia, kept saying to myself, 'y'all, just talk to him!'

I really liked Lia. She was young, and maybe too impulsive and adventurous, but she had a good heart and wanted to help her new 'friends' get their lives together. I liked her whole vibe. I liked Kevin too. Initially, I couldn't get a good read on Blake and couldn't decide whether or not I liked him. Loved Nicki. She was such a sweetheart. I'm glad that she found a friend in Lia, and that they were able to maintain their friendship even after the jig was up. Those cousins, though! Couldn't stand those two. I really wanted them to get the cussing out that they were begging for.

The most intriguing character to me was Mama Morgan. Couldn't believe her story after it was told and really, really, really wanted to know more.

Don't miss this one!

Started off really interesting but I lost interest in it halfway through. It seemed a bit predictable...not saying that..to say it wasn’t good. Complex colorful characters as always but something was missing.

Paid Companion

This was my first read by Nia and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was drawn in from the beginning and how one decision on Lia's part changed so much. It was evident Blake had a secret he wasn't ready to tell. The attraction shared between Lia and Kevin was everything! The Morgan's had more secrets than a little. Edward expected too much from his children instead of allowing them the opportunity to live. Poor Nicki! She needed a little push but it was long overdue for her to be happy and stop letting what her father would say or think dictate her life. I swear Lia played her position and gained friends along the way. I honestly wasn't surprised about the secret Blake harbored because some of his actions had me guessing. Whew Lia and Kevin! I was ready for all secrets to be revealed before the trip was over. As crazy as it seemed Blake, Kevin and Nicki all trusted Lia enough although she had a secret of her own. Man I didn't like Debbie even though what Lia did was wrong. I found it funny how jealous Kevin was of Blake and Lia's relationship when she understood him better than the siblings. Who knew having a paid companion would lead to new relationships and the siblings finding the courage to finally gain control of their own lives. #KNL

Very good

Nia doesn't disappoint. This book was refreshing. Just a little drama that was just right for this family. I was wanting Lia to say at the end that she was pregnant, too. Great read.

Loved it!

Lie becomes a paid companion to remedy her struggling financial situation. Meeting the Morgans she finds is a very dysfunctional family with personal secrets. I loved this story! Its about friendship, love, and honesty. I always enjoy Ms. Nia's work.

I think this one would have been a 5 star read for me, if we would have been shown the conclusion of what actually happened between Blake & his Father.

With so much emphasis put on what would happen if their father knew the truth, and why Lia was put in place to begin with, I felt it lacking that we didn't get to see what actually unfolded when the truth was finally told. I felt cheated out of that reveal & the revelations that came later because of that. It all was treated and told as an after thought. I didn't like that.

Though it was great to see how the siblings got over their issues that had been present since they were children. I did love how Lia eventually came to fit into their mold, having her own valid place with each of them individually. I liked that. But it all seemed lacking because of the one missing element with their father & Blake

Also I wish I would have seen how their father and mother remained married and went on to have Nicki Considering all the ugliness happened years before her birth. I would have liked to see how they got passed all that & still remained together after all these years.

But, overall, this was a good read. I liked many things about the layers of these characters. What kept them together & all the things that threatened to tear them apart.

Happy Reading :)

I picked this romance up from Kindle Unlimited because the cover caught my eye and the concept felt very rom-com, although this book turned out to be a little more drama heavy than comedic. The romance that develops between Kevin and Lia, both of whom are aspiring artists, is sweet but the real heart of this book is Lia becoming friends with the Morgan family children, who each have enough emotional baggage to fill their private jet.

The week long Morgan family vacation is set on an island just off the coast of Miami and Forrester does an amazing job creating a sense of place. I felt like I was going on vacation every time I opened this book and it was fun to see how the other side lives with private yachts, catered meals and private islands.

Also, it’s treated like a reveal in the book, but yes, the reason Blake Morgan needs to pay a model to pretend to be his girlfriend for his family is exactly for the reason you think it is.

Paid Companion is sizzling standalone romance brimming with family secrets, Miami heat and at the end of the day, a lot of heart.

Not a Billionaire's Hooker Story!

Before you start to think this book was about a billionaire who pays for companionship at his family's holiday, you would be wrong. Yes, Blake was rich and he hired Lia to pretends she was his girl, but the story is much deeper than that. The Morgan's had so many secrets they made Trumpgate look Innocent. Here's the story. Lia worked at a modeling agency, she was not a model, so when the request came for a companion for Blake Morgan a wealthy, handsome and socially active bad boy, she jumped at the chance. He wanted the lady to be not so attractive, as not to draw too much attention... Well that plan failed within the first few minutes she and Kevin met... You know, I was all team Lia by the way Nia described her hair, it made me think about how many ladies look on any given early morning bad hair day Piggie tail look. This alone made her Real to me..
Then after the vacation was underway, it was clear that something was up with Blake, Kevin and their sister as well. And so you'll know, I figured out Kevin's deal, and Blake's was easy to see.... No spoiler here. I'll just say that the brother's fought over the girl and the best man won. A nice easy read with some hot sexy moves in between the sheets, on the sand, and it was good. Yes, this was a good good read!!

Proof why she remains my favorite author

With the reading of this book, I have now read all of her published works and again this book demonstrates why she is one of my favorite author. Her strength is character development where you gain insights about the characters in her books without feeling as if you are invading their privacy because it is not intimate. I don't even know how she balances that feat but I am glad she has the gift to do it. Lia is definitely the heroine in this book even though she came under false pretenses. She impacted Blake, Nicki, and Kevin's lives in such a way that made you wished they had planned such a ruse sooner. They needed her. My heart ached the most for Blake and I loved that Lia was genuinely there for him. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and now I have to wait patiently for her next release. Hope that it won't be too long.

When Lia pretends to be a model and accepts a job with Blake Morgan for a chance of adventure and extra money, they get more than expected.

This story is riddled with secrets with all the main characters and it appears it begins at the head of the Morgan family. I liked how the characters developed a kiindred spirit of sort and was able to bond immediately. I think it surprised Lia, Niki, Kevin and Blake how inseparable they became and the healing process that begun once they opened and exposed true feelings.

I hope there is more to come with this story, need to know more about the parents.

Loved It

I absolutely loved Lia and Kevin's story! They were perfect for each other. I loved how Nicki, Blake, and Kevin found it so easy to talk to Lia about their deepest secrets. Boy did they have some secrets! That says a lot about Lia's personality though. I'm glad that all the Morgan siblings were finally able to live the lives that they wanted to live and be able to be themselves. Great Story Ms Forrester!

I am in no way a romance novel kind of reader but there is something about the way Nia Forrester weaves a tale that has me reading her books in a couple days...if that! I don't know if I have every meet a character that I didn't love in her stories and this book is no exception. Another great read and can't wait to read more!!

Loved the book. I fell in love with Lia and Kevin's story. With the Morgan family being such a prestigious clan, it was great to NOT see the judgmental personalities that usually come from a pedigree as theirs.

I kind of predicted Blake's sexuality, but what a realistic way to portray his internal what's and why's. Thanks again for giving us another great romantic read!!

I loved it

I just fell in love with Lia and Blake's relationship. Those Morgan's were full of secrets but despite them, those two were good. I truly felt that Lia cared for him, which is something he truly needed. With Kevin, Lia was at her best. Their relationship was a good one too. Lia was a good person for all three of the siblings

Secrets and Deceptions

They’re are so many different levels of deception in this book it had me turning pages wondering what was going to come out next. The truth is no matter how something starts a good person is going to be good because they can’t help it and through that love can be found

It makes me sad that people still have to hide who they are whiles the rest of us get to prance around with no care because we are ‘normal’ and so we fear no judgement. I hope we treat each other with love and respect wherever we find ourselves because we all matter and we all deserve to not have our basic human rights infringed upon. Less judgement, more love.

On the good side of ehh...

I'll admit that it took me months to finish this book; I started it, read several others, then came back to it. It just took me a while to get into. I wasn't a big Lia fan and some things towards the end seemed kind of glossed over. But the story was very well-written and I'll certainly be reading more from this author.

I really enjoyed this story. It was more complex than I expected from the description. It was almost as much about the Morgan family dynamic and relationships as it was about the central romantic relationship. (Which is not a complaint in the slightest!) I thought it was entertaining and fun while still having substance.

Well written.
While not completely flat, characters were only able to inflate into 2D. The fmc was kinda annoying with her "y'all should fix y'all shit because y'all ain't living authentically" attitude. The siblings were cliches and that's all they were, no nuance.
I did finish the book. Ending was all right.

Exciting from the start

Great read, so many sub plots all under the wonderful experiences of love and family. The moral of the story is quite simply you have to deal with your shit otherwise it will eat you up from the inside out.

Happy Ending

I give this a 5 because of the drama, love, and overall humor. It was just my cup of tea. I figured out Blake's secret a long time before it was revealed. I'm thankful of Lia and Kevin the way their lives turned out. NIcki too. Good job Nia. Will there be a part 2?
