Duck

Set in present-day Dublin, Duck follows the doings of Cat, in her late teens and temping as a nightclub hostess. She tries to jolt-start her life by blowing up her boyfriend’s car and hopping into bed with a 50-year-old married man. But for all her Sturm and Drang, she comes to realize that companionship with her best mate Sophie offers the best option after all.

Decent but kind of forgettable. It's social realism, not necessarily at its best or grittiest, but there's some interesting characters. I probably wouldn't reread but I also wouldn't have begrudged the ticket money to see it. Also, I do like social realism particularly.

I reread this play a year later and enjoyed it a lot more. It still wasn't perfect but I'm adjusting my initial rating from a 3 to a 4.
