It has only been four days since Z-Day, and Charlotte and Will are over it. The death, the homicidal maniacs, the jealous ex-lovers, the blood... all they want to do is get across the smouldering city of Hillsborough and to The Lakes Estate in Banksia, an off-grid housing estate that they just know is going to be the perfect place to rest, recover and repress. And all they have to do get there, is cross one tiny town...
On a river full of corpses In a boat that keeps breaking down In the middle of a gusty winter's night While one companion lies dying And the other is yearning to die...
With low tide fast approaching and sunrise still hours away, Will, Charlotte, Chelsea and Kyle have to find a way to get out of the bloody, turbulent, shark and crocodile infested waters of the Fitzgerald River, and the only way they can do that is if they put their fears, insecurities and issues aside and work as a team. The problem is, every single one of them is injured, traumatised and just as ready to take a bite out of one another as the zombies are, and Will's about to find out that leadership is a trait that is not inherited, but earned.
Zip up your life jackets- the water is cold, rough, wet and full of teeth, and what waits for them on land is exactly the same.

I continue to really enjoy this zombie apocalypse story. Lots of action and zombie gore plus lots of character development. So glad that Charlotte and Will were truly together for the whole book even if they didn't get to take some time to enjoy it. Lots of new characters introduced too.
