From best-selling author Alison Ryan comes a new, sexy series, THE MONTANA BROTHERS
BELLE
I ran away from my old life to find out who I really am. Because when you’re debutante Belle Delford (that’s me), all you are to the world is your old Kentucky money.
But I’m not going to live a life that was arranged for me before I was even born, a life I have no passion for. So I fled in the dead of night, and didn’t look back. I drove until I couldn’t drive anymore, until I was positive the things that were chasing me could never catch up.
I ended up in Whitmer, Montana, and on my very first night I met Huck Calloway. He’s everything a woman could want: tall, brooding, and handsome as all hell. As soon as I see him, I want him, if just for one night. Anything to get my mind off the things I left behind.
But Huck isn’t like any man I’ve met before. Nothing is simple when it comes to him, and I can’t read him to save my life—which only makes me want him more.
HUCK
I grew up in the back woods of Montana, raised never to need anyone or anything—except myself and my brothers. We build things with our hands, we kill what we eat, and we earn every single thing we have in this life. I wouldn’t have changed a damn thing about it, until the night Belle Delford waltzed into our bar and flipped my world upside down.
As much as I want her in every way possible, it’s a no-go. She has secrets she doesn’t want to tell me, and I have things I can never tell her.
There’s a hard line in the sand, but despite what I tell myself… I’d do anything to be able to cross it.
WARNING: This is a sweet, but incredibly steamy story about love breaking through the thickest of emotional walls. Get ready to cry tears of sadness and joy for these two. Huck Calloway is one alpha country bad boy you'll never forget!
This is a complete standalone story with an HEA. It's part of a series of standalones featuring brothers that live in the backwoods and mountains of Montana.
OK, I really did like this book BUT for me it wasn't the greatest insta-love books out there for my tastes. Talk about insta-love, this was way too OTT insta love for me. I really did like the characters but they lacked some serious "depth" and the believability to their story, just not again to my personal tastes. The sex scenes and when I say were the LONGEST and most UNBELIEVABLE that I have read...... They really were a negative for me, sorry, this author has some potential there but really needs some more depth and some more believable sex scenes, lol, I know, I know but hey those are important in my stories, sorry. She could also use some good beta readers to help out or at least point her in the right direction, maybe help her fine tune characters, etc..... Truly there is some good potential there, it's just hidden underneath some inexperience is how I felt.
Will I read more by her, yes, I will give her another go for sure in the future! This was a quick read, a totally safe read and if you enjoy cheesy, insta love then you may just love it but for me, ehhhh, it was lacking in my personal taste areas.
The first book in The Montana Brothers series by Alison Ryan. Belle Delford is on the run from her past. After being beaten by her now ex-fiancé she drove away to escape. When she finds herself running out of gas she stops in Whitmer, Montana. She finds a bar across from her motel called The Side Pocket and meets Rick, the bartender and his nephew, Huck. Circumstances have Belle remaining in Whitmer and working at the bar.
It was a nice, cute story and I will continue the series. It was a bit on the spicy side but not so much that you didn't get a story. I liked the style of writing for the most part but I did feel there was a bit of room for improvement. The romance was quick and I did like the characters. I will certainly check out more by this author.
You know those strong, silent types who are intense and aloof at the same time? I love those types.
Huck is one of those guys, or rather he was one until he became the sentimental, chatty type and ruined the illusion.
So, I read the short book, really a longer novella, about the stereotypical brothers from Montana with the stereotypically stupid names, and I can't say I was impressed. Declaring love after a week of knowing each other, after very little contact, and right after having ridiculous sex really doesn't tickle my pickle in any way, especially when it makes strong men become saps. Icky.
Huck is the first book in the Mountain Men of Montana series by author Alison Ryan. This is a good first book to the series and I can’t wait for more to come.
Belle Delford is on the run. From her old life. A mom she wanted to please after her father died. An abusive fiancee. And from being the bourbon princess to the Delford Distillery.
She lands in Whitmer, Montana. She at The Side Pocket which is a bar. She takes four shots of Maker’s Whiskey in less than thirty minutes. She’s handling it well until she gets up to leave. That’s when she ends up being carried to her room after she pukes on the bars floor by one of the owners, Huck. She had met him earlier when he bought her a shot of whiskey. She was mortified the next morning when she woke up and remembered what had happened.
Heading to The Waffle Hut she runs into Rick, the man who manages the bar and his nephew Hayes. Huck walks in shortly after Rick insists that Belle join them. She is very uncomfortable the whole time. From the time that Huck had bought her a shot, he had been really distant and kind of an asshole already. Belle decided she was going to pack up and keep going until she found another freeway rest stop town.
Only one problem. She had been cut off. Her mother turned off all her cards. She had a note waiting back at the hotel on her door. It wasn’t until they ran another card that she knew she’d been cut off. She was in deep water. No gas in her car. No money. No home. She ends up across the street at the bar and spilling her guts to Rick. He comes up with a suggestion. They’re looking for another bartender and he offers her the job.
Huck doesn’t think she’ll make it. He challenges her on the best and worst whiskey they have and she shows him up on her knowledge of it. (I kinda really loved this scene.) He decides to give her a chance seeing as he owns the bar.
Let’s just say, I love the dysfunctional part of them until he comes to his senses. When that happens, everything goes fast. Only there’s a few issues that arise before the end of the book. (I loved one scene very much and if you read this book, you should be able to figure it out.)
—————
I think Alison Ryan has a knack for writing about hot guys and their feisty females. Her words blend seamlessly together. My favorite character has to be Huck. He’s hot, brooding and will fight anyone who messes with his staff or patrons of the bar.
The world Alison creates is believable. I could easily see this whole book unfolding in real life.
Happy release week. This book was just released on the 20th.
This was my first Alison Ryan story and I will have to say that I liked this author's style of writing. The story was engaging, but predictable. Perhaps my main issue with this story were the sex scenes. I've read a lot of erotic romance and somehow these sex scenes were stale, almost to the point of awkward. I ended up skimming/skipping those as a result.
Overall, this was a pretty good intro. into Ms. Ryan's work. With that said, I will look into reading the other brothers' stories in the future.
This book breaks no new ground, but predictability doesn't mar the journey. Huck is delicious, Belle less so because she's not very bright. It's nice, though, to read a new adult romance in which the hero isn't a womanizing jerk who sleeps with anything that breathes and discards it immediately afterwards. The relationship between our H and h moves at a lightning pace, but that's become common. The story hastens to a conclusion and wraps everything up in a tidy bow while setting the stage for the next book in the series.
Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!
We meet Huck, Hayes and Hunt Calloway and their uncle Rick Calloway in Whitmer, Montana.
Belle Delford escaped the nightmare her life had become and made it to Montana. At first glance she looks like a spoiled rich girl, which she totally was, but not anymore. Belle's reality is completely different than what is used to be.
Huckleberry Calloway is a strong caring man behing the thick wall he has around his heart. Huck had a very hard childhood which is why he wont let anyone get close. He pushes away anyone with the power to get behind his wall and that is exactly what he does when he meets Belle.
Belle doesn't understand why Huck is the only Calloway that seemingly hates her guts. He's cold, rude and indifferent and just an asshole when it comes to her. Soon we see a different side of Huck, the real one, and things change.
This story is short which means the I love you's come pretty quickly. The book is fast paced, I had to reread some passages because I got confused but it was only for two certain chapters that had a lot going on. Also there was too much sex happening in only a chapter which is something I never thought I'd say! All in all an entertaining book. I recommend for anyone looking for a short steamy read!
I was afraid there would be more push and pull, hot and cold but luckily once past the initial hurdle of not wanting or trusting they were together and strong. I like that, little angst, lots of loving. I kinda expected more biker trouble and I'm sure if the author wanted to prolong the story she could have but, alas, there was only the brief trouble with the ex showing up. I'd definitely recommend this story to anyone with 2 hours to spare and want a sweet love story with a happy ending
The beginning was good til about 60 percent. I don't know if the book was edited and they just didn't fill in big gaps. I felt everything was rushed and is just missing major pieces. The writer is good and I enjoyed the storyline but I feel like someone told the writer that the book needed to be shorter and they butchered parts out. Other then that it was an enjoyable book.
I would have given this story more stars but I felt personally that it hit a couple of my dislikes to hard. Insta-love. Not a fan of we just met a week ago and now are in love. Also, not enough of a background story for either. This entire town seems kind of like they have no law and take care of their own but it just seemed strange. From the taking her in to giving her a job/home/food/money without even a reference? I guess I am just to jaded. I did like the book I just didn't love it.
Wow...what a way to start a new series...sexy and hot!!! This book was absolutely fantastic; the storyline and the characters will grab you right from the start. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it.
Huck & Belle's lives couldn't be any more different from each other. Belle's family is very wealthy and up until recently she lived a very charmed life. But all that changed when she fled from the only life she had ever known and found herself broke in a small town not even on a map and no place to go. How was this possible? She decides to go to the bar across the street from the no tell motel she is staying in to drown her sorrows. The bar was pretty scary and not a place she would have ever thought she would find herself in, so imagine her surprise when she see the sexiest handsome man she has ever laid eyes on.
Huck and his brothers haven't had an easy life but what they had they worked for. Between them and their uncle they were able to make a go of the bar and kept it a float. Huck kept most people at arm's length but he was very protective of his family, friends and employees. Everyone knew each other in the small town so when he saw Belle at the bar he knew she wasn't from around there.
They didn't hit it off right away and Belle couldn't understand why he seemed to dislike her so much. What she didn't know was he was attracted to her as much as she was to him but true to form Huck kept her at a distance; but that didn't last long.
Alison Ryan did not disappoint with this steamy, pulse racing, sexy, passionate, raw, toe curling, hot, erotic storyline with a HEA...whew!!!! I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and originally posted this on another website on October 22, 2016.
I love the Calloway brothers! This is Huck and Belle's story and it was wonderful. This had a great storyline and wonderful strong characters. It has humor, some tense moments and lots of chemistry between Huck And Belle. Belle is running from her home in Kentucky and an abusive fiancé who she discovered only wanted to marry her for her trust fund and her inheritance. She ends up in the smalll town of Whitmer Montana. She checks into a motel and decides she needs a drink so heads to the dive bar The Side Pocket, where she first encounters Huck, the brooding, hunky cowboy. She proceeds to get drunk and Huck carries her out of his bar and back to her motel. The next morning she discovers her credit cards have been cut off, along with her cell phone. She has no money and a car needing gas. She ends up going back to the bar to see if Rick, Hucks uncle who befriended her the night before, would lend her $500 with the promise to sign over her BMW as collateral. Instead he offers her a job and a place to stay. When Huck finds out he is angry that his uncle would do such a thing since he is the owner of the bar. He agrees to let her work as a bartender but figures the spoiled little rich girl won't make it. From that point on, it just gets more and more interesting. I loved this book and highly recommend it, as well as the next one in the series "Hayes";. You will not be disappointed.

Huck is the first in the Calloway brothers series, but it's the second one that I've read (after Hayes).
Belle is running from an abusive ex, and she ends up in Whitmer, Montana. She decides to stick around when her car runs out of gas, and a local dive bar looks just the place for her to drink her woes away. She finds a kindly soul in the older bartender, but his nephew, Huck, seems to dislike her on sight. So the next morning when she founds out her mother cancelled her credit cards, and she has to rely on Rick and Huck for a job, will Huck actually help her, or fire her, as he seems wont to do?
While I ended up liking both Belle and Huck, I found their story to be a little shallow and far too insta love for my tastes. They were exchanging ILYs after a week, that's pretty quick, too quick. If their relationship had been allowed to develop naturally and at a normal pace, I probably would have liked this a lot more, and could have rated it 4 stars instead of 3. As it's written, though, 3 stars is good for this ooey gooey sweet and sexy novella. I hope Hunt gets his story next, because it would be a shame if he were the only brother who didn't get his own story.

This was an awesome quick read! I was immediately drawn into the story with Belle's sudden desire to down Makers Mark in the middle of small town Montana. I was stuck until the very end. I loved Huck and Bella as well as his brothers and uncle. Bella tries to be nice to Huck. Huck acts like he hates her. Down on her luck his Uncle Rick tries to help by giving her a job and a place to live. She is the new bartender for "The Side Pocket" bar owned by Huck. Huck is very skeptical about his uncles hire because she clearly has never had a job. However, she impresses him with her knowledge of bourbon and whiskey (or whisky). The Mutineer's come in on Friday night in a fashion that reminds me of Tombstone, including the line "I'll be seeing ya". All hell breaks lose and Huck finally sees another side of Bella and realizes that they have more in common then he realized. Huck and Bella are both scarred and find comfort with each other. Her past comes back to haunt her can they overcome it? I really enjoyed this book with all it's small town drama, suspense, action and romance. I wished that there had been more development in the relationship between Huck and Bella. I liked the cover but I am not sure it really matched Huck description in the book.

THE MONTANA BROTHERS (Huck/Hayes/Hunt) He sees Belle as the rich little princess, who's trying for a job in their bar?? But he's impress by her knowledge about drinks, so he hires her. Belle is running from an abusive relationship and meets the hot, sexy Huck. Things will never be the same again. Two people with heartache and pain from their past, they have more in common than meets the eyes. Their relationship moves at a lightning speed. The Montana brothers have experienced their share and are the stronger for it thx to their uncle Rick. Huck being the 1st one to step in a relationship giving a chance on love/trust, drama, small town antics, family, relationships and love. It is a fun, very steamy, sexy read that. I wish it was a little longer. I hope to read more of this serie, still need to get a hand on Hunt story's.
The opening quote pulled me right in! This book is absolutely AMAZING and will tug on your heart strings! It is well written; the story flows smoothly and is consistent guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are well developed and just perfect. The plot is realistic, the chemistry between Belle and Huck is intense and the sex scenes are AMAZING, Well-written and HOT! You will laugh, cry, smile and cheer right along with the characters as they navigate the twists and turns in this story. This is not a book to miss! A wonderful 1st book in the ‘Montana Brothers (Mountain Men of Montana)’ series and I look forward to reading the next book. From the beginning I liked Belle. She was confident yet scared and she knew how to handle herself...sick episode in the bar notwithstanding. There's something quirky, vulnerable, and appealing about this woman with a spine of steel and yet a soul so soft. I did find her contradictory at times and had a bit of a hard time with how little she actually go to know Huck overall. Their relationship could have used A LOT more page time to be believable and to achieve greater depth. From the synopsis giving two perspectives I was expecting an alternating POV in the story but we only got Belle's mind. There's a lot of emotional frustration coming from and with Huck but we get pretty much nothing. Despite the level of phenomenal hotness together I found the stamina, size, and intensity to be a little over the top. Overall, though, the story was a nice, sweet, hot pairing that bodes well for the rest of the series.
ARC willingly read and reviewed from the author via Booksprout.
This is a very entertaining book. A short and very steamy romance. The story is about Huck and Belle. They are two very different people, from very different places and yet , they do share similarities. Both have been hurt before, both have erected emotional walls and they both have trust issues. I loved the chemistry between these two, the heat they generated together and the genuine sweetness of their love. The family dynamic between Huck and his brothers was wonderful and I am excited to read each of their stories in future books. I'm posting a totally honest, voluntary review after reading this book.
This is a fantastic start to this new series! Huck Calloway is afraid to love and be loved, so he is cold towards women, especially Belle. Belle is stranded in a small town in Montana, on the run from trouble. Taking a job as a bartender at The Side Pocket, until she can save up enough money to leave. The attraction between the two is there, but how will they get past their past scars and fears to be with one another? I couldn't put it down. The more you get to know the characters in this story the more you love them, not only the main characters but the supporting ones as well. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.💋
Huck: The Montana Brothers by Alison Ryan....I absolutely loved this book, it is so well written and you can't put it down. This story is full of heart, emotion and drama. I was happy, sad, crying and loving every bit of it. Belle and Huck both have issues in their pasts, but you will love these two and pulling for them. This is my first book by Alison Ryan and she has gained a new reader. You will not want to miss book 1 in this series, so make sure you download this one. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I must say I read Hayes first but not the end of the world as Huck was just as great. The plot and storyline is so good and I was pulled in very quickly. Belle is one the run from an abusive ex and when her car runs out she decides to drown her sorrows in the local bar. I love that Belle has a strong character especially when she has to deal with the drama that gets thrown her way. Huck is very distrusting of her. Will Huck be able to help her when she needs it the most? Great juicy story.

Huck was the definite stand out in this book he was the kind of hero all women want in their lives. He is terrifies that he will be a bad person like his father was and has tried so hard to be self reliant in all things including emotional. Belle jsy comes across as a absolute air head I couldn't relate toher at all. The scenes between these two are super steamy though which makes this a great read

she is the sole heir to a fortune but she wants nothing to do with it as she has enough problems of her own. she runs away and gets works but she finds herself falling for the boss. what will happen when her past comes looking for her? can she protect him? can he protect her? will they be together? see where this will go

Ok so Belle is a spoiled little rich girl who doesn't want her preordained life so she runs away, Huck is a alpha backwoods male who sees Belle and can't look away. Eventually they fall for one another and there is a great HEA at the end of this story but the truly great part of this book is their journey to get the HEA. Read it you will see what I mean

Short read with some steam to it. Likable characters but not too developed, probably due to the length of the book. Had some issues with discrepancies, namely how long ago someone died and how/why certain past events happened. Not an overly deep or complicated story but overall a decent read.
So I started out and I read Hayes before I read Huck. And so I got a little glimpse of their love. But I can tell you this book did not disappoint. Both of these books are amazing and I couldn’t put them down. Huck is something else and Belle, well all I can say is her characture is strong.

This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I can't wait for what this author writes next.
