When someone is depressed or has mood swings consistently for months, weeks, or longer and it limits the person from going about his or her day-to-day actions, then that could be signs of depression.
There are various kinds of depression, there is major depression, dysthymia, adjustment disorder, seasonal affective disorder and bipolar disorder or manic depression.
