She wondered if she had the nerve to ask him for more. She licked her lips. “The thing is, I …” Oh my gosh, how was she going to say this? Just say it! The worst he could do was say no, and then she’d be no worse off than she’d been before. Well, other than the fact a guy she was very attracted to would think she was a complete and utter weirdo. She inhaled, trying to work up her nerve. She was going to do it. She was going to ask. “The thing is, I wondered if you might … if you might be willing … what I mean is …”
“Spit it out, lass.”
“Would you be my fiancé?”
He stilled, his hand frozen around a wooden spoon. After a moment he set the spoon on the counter and turned to face her. Actually, he gaped at her, which made the heat rushing into her face flame hot.
He swallowed. “Ye wish to marry me?”
While wishing upon a star, Allison King tells the universe she needs a fiancé just to take to her family reunion. Unfortunately—or is it?—she forgot to say “fake”. When she hits highland-ghost-turned-mortal-man Kenrick Macfie with her truck and he refuses to go to the hospital, she takes him home with her instead—just to keep an eye on him, of course. The charismatic, handsome warrior would be perfect to take to the reunion, if only she can work up the nerve to ask. The problem is, the more she learns about him, the more real she wants their relationship to be.
Kenrick Macfie can’t believe it when he finds a short-term home with the girl of his dreams. The home, the girl—even the dogs—are exactly what he’s been yearning for since his child died and his faithless wife left him for another without a second thought. He knows the dream life is temporary, but his feelings are not. Allison quickly fills the giant hole in his heart. He knows his stay is fleeting, but if this is his only chance at love, he’s taking it.

These books are so cute. I just love them. ;)

Allison's disillusioned after a horrible break up with her fiancé. What's worse is dreading the pity at an upcoming family reunion. And seeing her cheater of a ex fiancé there. She can't skip the reunion, but maybe she can spare herself the misery and save her pride. She wishes for a fiancé, a fake one of course.
When she literary runs into Kenrick - with her truck - she's relieved he seems perfectly fine. She may work with animals rather than people, but she can keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't show signs of internal injury, though he claims he's never felt better.
Kenrick is a sweetie. He has a short time to live again, but what a life - he's invitted to a home on plenty of land, gains repoir with Allison's rascally dogs, and he's intrigued with Allison who is practical, tenderhearted, and could be the love of his life - if he had more than two days to live. Kenrick is so grateful for everything, he's so easy to like.
I loved the ending, wishing upon stars together.

Started Off Good....
Decent story premise, but pretty lame in the development. I liked the characters, but even for fiction the author made me cringe and roll my eyes. The veterinarian was cruel and mean and out of character for his occupation. Allison was gullible and unconvincing emotionally. Kenrick was surprised by modern conveniences but did 't blink when the neighbor brought out electric nail guns to repair a fence? Her parents kept flipping sides like airheads. And the book is full of spelling errors and missing words. Was glad to finish it. All in all it was entertaining but the writing was kind of lazy.

Great series!
This series of books have been a real treat to read.Each one is different and unique. I love the way each author has added their talents to make each one different. I will read all of them,so i won’t miss the pleasure.

Kenrick
I started this series when only a few titles had been written. Decided to return to the beginning and refresh my memory. I've enjoyed what I have read so far and thank all the authors for their hard work. Glad the stories keep coming.

Great
This is the story of a gentle giant whose only wish was to be loved by family. Allison on the other side had family but had been dumped by her fiance so she needed her confidence restored.

A very special highlander
Animals have the greatest sense of good people-such as Kenrick. This was a delightful addition to this incredible series -Darcy does her magic again.

I loved this book
I've been reading all of the books in the series and I liked all of them however this 1 so far, is my favorite. I simply picked this book up and could not put it down. There's something about the tender romance in this book that just sweeps one away.

My favorite one yet
I loved the entire series thus far, but this one was just perfect. I enjoyed meeting Kendrick. I would love another story on him!!!
