Chad Huntley can’t get sick. When an influenza pandemic kills almost everyone around him, he finds himself on the run, hunted by soldiers and mercenaries, chased across a wasteland of empty houses and dying suburbs as he tries to escape Fort Worth.
Mankind’s only hope is for him to partner with a brilliant virologist to find a cure—but not everyone wants a cure for the greater good.
The Source, the first prequel to Apache Dawn, opens a terrifying window on the early days of The Great Pandemic and sets in motion the events of the Wildfire Saga.
Love Marcus Richardson books. This was a very good read I did find myself getting frustrated over what a wimp the main character was. One of those characters where you found yourself thinking I can't believe he did something so stupid. Several of the characters were just left hanging as you never found out what happened to them or what there purpose in the book is. Overall I enjoyed the book and i'm going to be purchasing the second book in the series to read.
After reading Apache Dawn it was interesting to discover how Chad's journey began. It's quite sad at times, all he goes through at such a young age. Well written and a good start to the series.
I have read every book by Marcus Richardson. I long for more. If you are drawn to apocalyptic novels, you should find his works mesmerizing. I couldn't put even one of them down. I read each novel straight through! I was so enthralled. You are lucky to be his reader.
I found myself hoping the main character survived. I want to know what happens next in this authors vision of a post apocalyptic world. No zombies here. Instead, the reader will find a believable plot with characters that have real human traits of fear, anger, and hope.
Almost wish I hadn't read the first wildfire book first!
I'm going to see what happens next. It's well written, and while it definitely makes you want to read the next in the series, it's not a true cliffhanger.
I always know when a book is a valuable read when I must find time to keep on reading. I will start the Apache Dawn as soon as I finish this review. I am PULLED IN and MUST continue reading. Thank you Marcus!
