So uh … this is one of those moments where curiosity was not in my favor. I will say it kept my attention but my aforementioned curiosity is to blame.

I’m not the biggest fan of this kind of MM alpha/omega trope because it’s kinda clinically disturbing. While I think it’s interesting that the male omega drips with desire, it’s also a weird aversion.

Jesus Christ and all the body fluids … there’s a certain point where it quickly goes from steamy to grotesque. And this one annihilated that line ages ago.

As if it wasn’t crazy enough let’s add more cigars and fisting. Although if I’m being honest that bothered me less than all the fluids … just saying.

You know what I would like to read in this trope? A breeding one, again curiosity but I want to know about the birth process.

This was my first Amelita Rae and I think I needed to start with a beginners course instead of the advanced one I got here.

Dirty and explicit in all the ways imaginable. This was definitely the most extreme ABO I’ve ever read. Not sure my staid self could've handled much more.

There’s plenty use of “cunt”, “pussy”, “boy”, “wife”. Oh, and there’s bucket loads of bodily fluids used in quite the imaginative way, and don’t forget fisting. You’ve been warned :)

I don't read mpreg (or usually omegaverse for the same reason) but I liked how things were explained. Well, that there was an explanation. Don't know if that is normal or not, but was something I appreciated.

Yeah, that was filthy good stuff. I could have read more of that, for certain - especially since we were teased with the idea of knotting...very frustrating without the payoff!

I don't know much about cigars so that whole aspect was lost on me; I can appreciate the attention to those details, though. I only wish the specifics had come more to explain the Alpha/Omega dynamics. Was it just extreme human characteristics manifesting in sexuality or were they shifters? The mention of knotting & "pups" leads me to think the latter...but it was never verified.

Secret Ingredient is a short Yaoi story by Amelita Rae. In this book we meet Duncan Howland, an Alpha male, and his mate, Addison aka 'Addy', an omega.



This book is pretty much all porn. There’s some background info given about Duncan and Addy’s relationship and Duncan’s current problem of having a failing cigar business. Since the characters are designated as an Alpha and Omega, but they are not shifters, this seems set in an Alternate Universe, not Earth or society as we know it.

As with the author’s previous books, this story has the same numerous errors, lots of odd pov shifts, and descriptors used rather than pronouns. I wish the author would get better betas and editors or improve her writing. Preferably both.

The kink in this book is fisting. Very descriptive fisting, and the creative use of cigars. If that’s not your thing, then you might not want to read this book because the sex takes up most of the story. I can read a lot of kink, but this was a bit too much for me.

I’ve read many of this author’s books and this was one of the least enjoyable. I give Secret Ingredient, 2 Stars.

This whole book is weird AF. And yes, I’m aware it’s Amelita Rape.

Reduced to skimming, as this is not my jam.

Makes Roe Horvat (🕳️) and Kiera Andrews (👊🏻) sound tame.

I normally love Amelita Rae's stories, and this is my 10th and it's only the second I've given a 2* review.
My real problem is 3-fold -
1) for the love of God, pick ONE term and stick to it, instead of the 50-million used for the sex scenes. It was absolutely exhausting! to read the million other terms and they weren't the most attractive options, either.
2) the AGE of the MC Omega was disturbing. It was NEVER explicitly marked as to how old he was, and that was a problem for me, because he was constantly referred to as tiny, young, vulnerable. It came across as though he was underage, which ruined the entire thing for me.
3) FFS, I get it. The kid is a slick machine. He's dripping everywhere, but puddles on the desk and "drinking" as if it's a f-ing river is just taking it too far.

This is basically a book of fetish scenes.
Not saying it was bad, but it wasn't really a story.

The other issue I had is the age and constant mentions of the omegas youth. It's giving predator and not in a sexy way... like he keeps talking about how the kid is the youngest on record to have a heat and how if were to have children now he would have stunted growth and it would like damage him. How he needed to "wait until he finished growing" to have children. Not for me.

Out of all of the books I've read by her this is definitely one of the dirtiest. It's literally 40 something pages of smut and I wasn't mad about it at all.
