Travis Vengroff is the award winning producer, editor, & sound designer of The White Vault, VAST Horizon, Liberty, and Dark Dice podcasts. He works full-time for his fans, who support these shows via Patreon. His productions have won numerous awards, most recently a Webby Honoree for 2019 and 14 Audio Verse Awards for 2020. Vengroff and his partner, Kaitlin Statz release over an hour and a half of scripted, edited, and fully designed content each month as a two person production team.

Vengroff is also a musician who has arranged & produced over 13 studio albums and toured the US and Europe as the bands Random Encounter & Careless Juja. Vengroff is also a video game voice actor, comic book writer, and dungeon master.

Far easier to follow than some graphic novels - everyone is distinctive in looks and dialogue. Read as an adjunct to the Liberty podcast.

Stunning visuals lead the way with this dystopian graphic novel of a sci-fi off-planet society of sheltered "citizens" and starved "fringers" rumored to be barely human cannibals. The State-controlled media keeps a tight rein on its image, its heroes and its enemies of the State. It's all propaganda with the biggest "hero" being nothing more than a glorified soap opera actor. That is, until his popularity makes him an extinguishable threat, too.

There exists a fantastic Liberty: Deception, Issue 0 showing the bleak life in the fringe. But this 1st issue follows the condemned actor using his fame and subterfuge to make his way out to the fringe. Along the way, he teams up with some of the previously introduced rogue fringers.

This series is highly recommended.

I met the creator at C2E2 2017 and as soon as he started telling me about Liberty: Deception I was sold. Liberty was as amazing as I imagined. The graphics are out of this world and the story is intriguing. Liberty immerses its reader in its world and has complicated, unpredictable, and diverse characters.
