Bend over, sweetheart.

I’m good at two things: rough sex and brutal violence, and I don’t know which one I love more.

That’s why the mafia give me a prize -- the sweet and innocent Jodie Walsh. I helped destroy her family, and now she’s mine to use however I want.

Too bad she’s more like a burden. I never wanted some good girl slowing me down, but I have no choice.

My bosses want her down on her knees, obeying my every command, and I can’t deny that I want the same. Her gorgeous body and soft moans make me want to give her more.

I’m supposed to hand her back when I’m finished, but her curves are too tempting and the way she looks at me, her lips parted with lust, drives me f**king insane.

I’ll teach her to submit and she’ll learn to love it. She’ll beg for it when this is all over.

And when they try to take her away?
I’ll kill them all.

She’ll bend, and I’ll break.

Bend is a dark mafia book with steamy scenes and bad language. It’s only recommended for readers 18+.

Bend is a STANDALONE, full-length novel. No cliffhanger. Guaranteed HEA. Includes bonus content!

Before you read my review, take a moment and read the blurb... Go ahead... Now buckle up because I'm about to rant...

Sounds awesome, right? Pretty standard premise--bad boy, good girl. I knew there would likely be insta-love, some mafia violence. I'd hoped there would be some dominating sexy good times. What I got was a hot mess of contradictions, a FMC that made no sense, cringe-worthy dialogue, and a MMC whose only interesting quality was the size of his...

Lets's start with the beginning, shall we? "My family was a pretty traditional working class family." Okay, I've painted a picture. Except on the next page, Jodie talks about all the nice cars, the nice things they owned, all the money they had. You know, because her father owned a string of nightclubs.

Jodie witnesses Dante doing unspeakable violence to her family, and then he kidnaps her. She's super angry about this. You can tell because she says, "You bastards. You killed them, you bastards." See? She means that.

So Dante is wondering if she really could be clueless about her own father's business dealings. He decides it's possible, then later says there's no way she couldn't have known, and then says it's possible again.

So Jodie wakes up in a strange place with a knot on her head after witnessing her entire family being brutally murdered. She cries a little and screams a lot. Dante decides enough is enough and tells her, "You'll submit. You'll learn." Her reaction? She's mad, sure, but she can't help but notice how hot he is and she's just dripping for him. Seriously?

There's this huge deal made about how he lives in an apartment, so he can't take chances and has to tie her up and gag her whenever he leaves. He does this the first time...and the third. Second time? Guess that wasn't a big deal...

He makes her breakfast in bed, but she jumps up and scurries to the bathroom to go pee first. Then they try to have this cute little banter about how he f'ed her so hard she can't walk. "Just because I haven't walked yet doesn't mean I can't." "I think you're unable to walk because I dominated you last night." Hello! She already got up!

Enough about inconsistencies... One of my pet peeves is telling me every little thought as though I can't draw my own conclusions. Perfect example--there's a scene where he gives her some wine. She takes a sip and then starts guzzling it. He tells her to slow down, his face goes soft, and then he says, "There will be more wine. I actually read this scene to my nine year old son and asked him what inferences he could draw. He said, "She likes the wine. She's scared she won't get more." Good job, kiddo. I do not need, I nodded, feeling silly. He saw right through me. I wanted to drink it fast because I didn't know if there would be another glass after that. I couldn't help myself. And the whole book is like this...

Then the dialogue...
"You do as I say."
"Why"
"Because you want to... That's why I'm going to make you submit."
"How?"
"Get down on your knees... Good girl."

So, the book is about a girl who witnesses brutality but decides her kidnapper is too sexy to deny. He says, Submit. She tells him that she never will but after a couple days of zero conversation, she decides he's just too hot. He decides that he loves her and is willing to give up everything for her because she's so pretty. The end...which is, incidentally, at the 29% mark. Let's not forget that.

Saweeet!

Pretty cool 😎 for a Mafia hitman romance. Mafia princess, Jodie only recently learned her father and brothers were in the Mafia. She comes home from college and as she is sitting in her room with her headphones on, while her Family and Uncles are watching Sunday Football, she notices they are unusually quiet. So she goes downstairs to find her family slaughtered. She is taken hostage by the hitmen from a rival Mafia and given to one of them for the time being.

The hitman, Dante, doesn’t want the hassle of taking on the beautiful hostage. Especially after his boss orders him to break her because they plan on selling her. Dante doesn’t believe in beating or raping women and certainly doesn’t like the idea of selling Jodie to be used for sex until she is dead. Especially since he is attracted to her and would like to make her his own.

Dante eventually promises Jodie he will help her survive, but he has to figure a way out for both her and himself without getting them both killed by his Mafia bosses. Meanwhile he has to get her to trust him so he gets her submit to him of her own free will to prove her trust. Some very hot 🥵 and steamy scenes between Dante and Jodie follow.

I'm sorry but this was just gross.
You're parents, brothers, uncles and all were killed and you are fingering yourself to a stranger who helped kill them?
You have NOT brushed your teeth and he is making out with you?
You haven't showered in what 4-5 days and you're playing with yourself in the front of him?
The guy who is making you piss and shit in a bucket?
Disgusting!

BB Hamel is the Queen of the BAD BOY Romance and I have been reading her work for quite some time now. I will continue to read her work and recommend it because she never lets me down. I know that when I pick up one of her books I will not put it down. “Bend” is no different. You are grabbed at the beginning of the book and pulled into a life of hostages, mafia, murder, mayhem, bad boys, and steamy hot, dirty sex!!! What more could you want? I found myself at times feeling as though I was part of this story and actually there. But then it could be wishful thinking on my part for a hot alpha bad boy of my own. This book is not for the weak, and you must have an open mind because of the dark story being told here. This book is recommended for mature readers 18 years of age or older.

Dante is a hitman for the Italian mafia which is the enemy of the Irish mob. Dante, his boss and some guys from the family have just killed a boss for Irish mob and his entire family except for his daughter Jody. Dante’s boss gives Jody to him and tells him to get her trained and ready to sell and he has three weeks to do this. He must have her obeying his ever command. He doesn’t want this hassle but what can he do? Then he must give her back to his boss once she is trained to obey him. But her curves and body are driving him nuts. He decides he will get her to submit to him (which is more for him) then he will dare anyone take her away from him.

Jody Walsh is the pampered, spoiled daughter of a mob boss for the Irish mob. She had no idea that the mob was even in her family until the night the Italian mafia hit her family and kills everyone but her. Then they take her prisoner and she has no idea what is to become of her now. All she knows is that she is being held in an apartment on either the second or third floor, and her room has been converted to a jail cell. Then her captor comes in after she wakes up and she is terrified of him, but is pissed at the way her body is reacting to this dominate alpha male that is holding her hostage. Now she must find a way out, or does she? Will Jody and Dante quit fighting their attraction to each other?

Sorry! Too short. Too predictable. Didn't enjoy much the dynamic of the story.
You killed my family, or participated and I am not going to blame you? And then fall in love with you out of the blue, like... in a matter of hours? Uhmmmmm.....sorry but NO!
And the book was waaaay too short.

Writing a book is difficult and the author is certainly going strong, (I've seen, she has written many books) and i would probably read another book from her, only this time, i am going to check the length, the plot and wait for more reviews.

This one didn't hit the nail!

Can't rate because I hit it and quit it before the big O! I'm sorry but this book had too many contradicting actions that confused the crap out of me.

No rating books I don't finish. I just don't understand how you can be dripping wet for someone who just killed your family. I mean she watched her mom get shot in the head. Where was the grief? Where was the terrified that she was next? Naw..... Not for me.

Desires - dark and caring, fun and hardcore.....PERFECT match.

Jodie is in her room, earbuds in because it is again a family gathering where there is a football game on. Jodie is not a girl who enjoys sports on tv, so she finds it a little unnerving to NOT hear shouting and bickering because of the game. What gives? She goes downstairs and her worst nightmare becomes reality. What is going on? No one is left, they took them all aware from her at one time. Then she opens her mouth and next thing you know she comes to days later in a strange place with a strange yet very very handsome kidnapper.....what is she going to do?

Dante is not the one who "did the deed" to her family, no, he was one of the guys that ransacked the place to find and take what they were after. When he sees the girl he knows things are about to change, but did he know they would change like this? He is put in charge of keeping her and training her. What??? He didn't sign up for this. He has help changing his spare room into a prison cell to hold her. He has to resort to gagging her to prevent screaming. But strangely there is a pull between them. Not just any pull, there is something about her and he refuses to allow anyone else to touch what is his.....did he just think or say that out loud?

There are things that happen, starting small, and eventually becoming a situation that has them on the run. Was he set up? Do they run together or is he willing to just deal with the consequences of turning her over to his boss and go on his way? Are they able to work together? Can they have something dark and yet caring with each other? Are there reasons they need each other? This was far too good of a book to put down and far too good to just give all the juicy delicious details without asking you to read this book. It is absolutely delicious.

Jodie Walsh lived an idyllic life until she learned that her family was involved in the mafia. Jodie didn't want to know what they do behind closed doors. All that is shattered when her family is murdered in front of her and she's taken hostage. Dante doesn't like to hurt women and children. He especially doesn't like that The Family is going into the sex trade but there's not much he can do about it. Dante's boss Gennaro wants him to keep Jodie locked up in his apartment. Dante follows orders but he doesn't much like it. Can Dante follow his orders? What will Jodie do? Your answers await you in Bend.

I'm loving this dark mafia romance series! The characters and story are top notch, gritty, raw, real, compelling, and complex. I totally get sucked in from first to last page. Ms. Hamel's writing makes this and her other works fast paced and well written.

I love this author writing but this book didn't make the mark with me. I have a tendency to read the wrong books and maybe I'm one who's thinking outside the box. The story is very conflicting and inconsistent regarding Jodie's feelings after seeing her family brutally murdered but she think of the hitman as gorgeous. If I had witness the killing of my mother and the killer kidnap me, I would be too distraught to focused on how much the killer makes my panties wet! After three days of laying around and letting him tie and gag her whenever he has to leave, she become submissive and recovers quickly. Then he leaves without any issues at all. There was nothing romantic or realistic about the love scene because it read like a trashy porno. I will continue to read this author's books and definitely won't let one book discouraged me.

I really do like mafia romances. This one is a dark read about a young woman whose whole family is wiped out by the Italian mob during a raid. Her family was part of the Irish mob unbeknownst to her for most of her life. It is decided that they will take the daughter to use her in the sex trade. The man expected to train her for the role is not very happy. He has his own dark desires but is not supportive of sex slavery. Their growing attraction make it all even more complicated.

I enjoyed the characters. Dante and Jodie make a very intriguing couple. He is a killer but he has his principles. She learns all about being strong and how to survive. The attraction is so strong. Their love really changes their lives.

Wow... this read was torture. What bothered me about this is the constant theme that physical beauty over powers common sense... seriously? Jodie watched her parents and siblings die, she says she's angry at Dante but guess what.. he's hot.. Jodie sobs for a few hours and that's about as far as her suffering for the loss of her family goes. There were a lot of errors in this book that made it extremely hard for me enjoy it even a little bit. I'm just glad it was a free read. That's the only uplift in this silly scenario.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book (given by the author)...

Holy smokes! This book started off with a bloodbath and never let up on the action. I loved Jodie and Dante, they had that special connection even if their beginning was completely messed up. Dante, the Italian mobster, and Jodie, the Irish mafia princess, are thrown together and are tested by the Italian mob. Will Dante follow his boss' orders for Jodie? Or will he risk it all for a prisoner he never wanted?

Another amazing story that had me reading this book in one sitting. Jodie finally learns about her family and can't believe she didn't see it sooner. When a rival mob comes to there home, Jodie can't believe what she just witness. Dante task is to break Jodie, but Dante can't seem to get her out of his mind and wants her for himself. Dante is willing to risk everything for Jodie. I liked Dante and Jodie and their dark romance and I couldn't stop reading to see what was gonna happen next.

SPOILER ALERT!!... somewhat.

Sorry..I just couldn't find it believable. I love me, a good old fashion, bad boy, mafia, kidnapped/hostage story.
This one didn't live up to my expectations.

You just witnessed a horrible scene play out in front of you. I, would not only be traumatized for life, but I'd be numb to feel anything else after what just happened to my loved ones- and yet, this girl is dripping wet for her captor???

Yeah, no. Doesn't work for me.

This is the first book I had the pleasure to read from this author..

It is fast paced novel, it starts with a bang!
She keeps on the edge...waiting to see what will be next..
What is going to happen to Jodie?
Taken as a prize...given to Dante to tame!

Will Jodi be tame? Is Dante the man that could tame her?

It has a wonderful HEA ending....

A fast-paced, action filled, dark mafia story with a mix of danger violence, murders, sex slavery, angst, sizzling sex scenes, and a HEA. I like hitman stories and this was a great story. I loved Dante , he worked for the bad guys but his heart was good . He knew what he wanted and he kept fighting for it. Jodie was great , her family was murdered in front of her eyes but she kept herself together . Well written , very exciting and a great story with HEA.

If you can’t handle dark romances this is not for you but for those of us who thrive off from everything you can imagine in a dark mob romance this is a 5 star read. The road that Dante and Jodie take to get to the HEA is one hell of a ride in ways that only B.B. Hamel can tell. A definite read!

Bend, I'm sorry to say, is another in a long line of formulaic books, about a Mafia killer who finally discovers he has a heart when he falls in love with one of his victims. I am tired of this whole Mafia genre but mostly what I am tired of is that in so many books, no matter the genre, the male main characters seem to have the same personality. The thing that I had an especially hard time with in this book is Jodie getting turned on by a man (apparently just because he is very handsome) who participated in the murder of her entire family and is keeping her prisoner in pretty bad conditions. In regards to being a dark romance, it's doesn't seem any darker than the glut of other mafia and hitman romances out there.

Having said all of that, I didn't hate it. I have been a fan of B.B. Hamel for a long time and although it's not my favorite of her books, it was an okay read.

Something isn't right when Jodie takes her headphones out.. She knows it should be louder than it is in her house right now with her brothers and uncles down stairs watching football. Jodie doesn't know what's wrong but she can feel that something isn't right and she's about to find out what it is. When Jodie comes down the stairs she never expected to see that....Dante is out on another job this one is a big one dealing with an Irish mafia family is never easy and it's best to sneak up on this one because they are one of the worst mafia families to deal with. After everything is said and done Dante never thought he would be in charge of a hostage girl. An Irish mafia princess hostage but he is and he has no clue what he is going to do and he refuses to hurt her. Will Dante figure out what his mafias end game is before it's too late or will he fall in love with her before and ruin everything he's worked his whole life for??

Courage, Honour and Love. These are three things that Jodie Walsh will have to learn. To survive the ordeal of being kidnapped , after her mob family are no longer around. Courage to stay strong in any situations that arise. Honour herself and be true to her beliefs in right and wrong and Love. Can she love a killer, well who knows. Dante has a set life, go in, do the job, no attachments. Then he has to babysit her....sexy curvy Jodie. He doesn't want this but surprises himself . The story seemed slow but what it was doing was you getting to know them together in every way. Caring, sharing and loving. There is also the dark seedier side and Dante has to deal with this. A very compelling story that will have you reading every word avidly. Absolutely loved it all

Really enjoyed Bend. Dante works for the Italian Mafia and doesn't want nothing to do with the beautiful Irish princess they kidnapped. He gets to know her and realizes she's naïve to the ways of her father. He feels drawn to her. He just has to keep reminding himself he wants nothing to do with her. Jodie just witnessed something horrible and is being kept prisoner by the sexy man she saw have part in that. She hates him, but wants him so bad. Now he says he wants he to submit. She don't think so. Hopefully she can just get her body to cooperate. Dante and Jodie are a awesome couple. Dante will do whatever it takes to protect her. Love how protective and caring he is. Jodie's got a lot of fire. She's perfect for Dante. Can't wait for B.B's next book.

Jodie Walsh has the perfectly normal life except for one thing her family is all part of the Irish Mob. She grew up seemingly happy with a great family and never knew anything about her family until she went off to college. Once home for break the Italians with Dante come along and soon Jodie is their property. Dante is given Jodie and he is given the job of getting her to break and become a willing slave. He soon wants her for himself to submit to him and only him. This was a very good book and it had very dark themes. I couldn't put it down and the book pulled me in and I loved every second of it. I had very high hopes for this book. I mean, come on. Look at that blurb!

But it turns out I didn't care much for it. Mainly because the conversations between the male and female were so far fetched that I just couldn't get into it. I understand that this is a work of fiction but in order for me to be able to like a book, the conversations have to be realistic. And each character needs to have their own personality in which they stick with throughout the book (or they grow and change) but not bounce back and forth. I almost did not finish but powered through because I cannot stand leaving a book unfinished. Not my cup of tea but who knows it could be someone else's.

I received this an ARC and I loved it. I am voluntarily reviewing it because one Amazon is not allowing me to on their page, and two I think people should know how a good hot book this is. I like mob stories, the drama, intrigue, a bit of mystery. The bad boy who isn't really so bad, and the innocent ones who get involved in underhanded ways. I loved it, it is was a book to keep me on my toes, I don't like books that bore me in the beginning - this one kept me going- I didn't put it down until I finished reading it, that tells you that it was worth my time and yours...
