Insurgents MC #8

Rock's Redemption

Rate this book
Rock is the ripped, handsome Sergeant-At-Arms for the Insurgents MC. Being one of the club’s officers, women clamor to share his bed. The biker’s more than willing to oblige as long as it’s a short-time hookup; long-term relationship is not part of his vocabulary.

He’s only been in love once—a long time ago—and the end result was shattering. He learned his lesson: keep his heart encased in steel.

The tragic night that sent him to prison is over even though it still simmers inside him. But once he joined the Insurgents MC, he vowed to leave the past darkness and disappointments back in Louisiana. He’s embraced his new life of brotherhood, booze, easy women, and Harleys. It suits him just fine. Some things are best left alone, especially a pretty brunette who destroyed his heart.

Easy sex has become his mantra.
Until his past crashes into his life….

Clotille Boucher is the wealthy, spoiled girl who’d stolen Rock’s heart many years ago. From a young age, family loyalty was drilled into her, so when darkness engulfed her and Rock, fleeing seemed to be the only way out for her. Deciding to make a new life for herself, she didn’t count on having to pay for the sins of her brother.

Just when her life doesn’t seem like it could get worse, a face from her past gives her a glimmer of hope. Shamed that Rock has to see how far she’s fallen, she pretends her life is exactly what she wants, but his penetrating stare tells her he’s not buying her act.

Fearful that the secrets of the past will catch up with her and Rock, her inclination is to do what she does best—run away. Only problem is, Rock’s not letting her slip away so easily this time.

Can two damaged people learn to trust one another again? Will Rock be able to reconcile the demons that have plagued him since that tragic night? Does Clotille offer him redemption or destruction?

As Rock and Clotille maneuver the treacherous waters of their past and present, someone is lurking behind the shadows to make sure the truth never comes out.

The Insurgents MC series are standalone romance novels. This is Rock and Clotille’s love story. This book contains violence, sexual assault (not graphic), strong language, and steamy/graphic sexual scenes. It describes the life and actions of an outlaw motorcycle club. If any of these issues offend you, please do not read the book. HEA. No cliffhangers! The book is intended for readers over the age of 18.

Chiah Wilder writes about rough, sexy men who know how to treat their women.

Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner.

Her love of reading has always been center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her books. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, romances with tough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons.

Rock’s Redemption
Chiah Wilder
4 stars

So I love this series by Chiah and Rock is no exception.

The Sergeant At Arms is a hard man. His past drives his future. You get a great look into that past at the beginning of the story. Its not an easy past for that matter .. either of the characters. However, the night that changed his life is forever is burned into Rock's memories. Never again. The Insurgents MC keeps him in check and keeps his anger and feelings in check. Loss is what he believes love leads to. Loving his new life within the MC the women are easy and there are zero strings attached. If a woman wants to try to stick her claws into him he never touches her again. There is no one that can open up his stone cold heart … except for Clotille … why the hell is she here. His past was supposed to stay there. Seeing her again it feels like the wounds and the things that have tormented him are not the past but have morphed into the present.

Clotille knows Rock doesn’t know what she did for him. There were too many secrets and too many things that threatened them. Loyalty to her family was her number one priority. Its all she was taught from day one. Her brother has forced her to where she is now. Rock gets to see her broken and at the bottom. Scared and alone she is running towards something. She wont involve him and she wont let her heart suffer another time.

This is a well written release for Insurgent fans. I really love getting back with old friends and also meeting new ones. What a dang roller coaster these two are on. You talk about deception .. yup.
I love this MC family and look forward to reading more. Each book is considered a standalone but you all know I love reading them all as they do fit together when characters appear from previous books. I will say the dialect at the beginning of the book is a little tough to get through but there is a list of verbiage. Hang in there and push through it – you will enjoy the pages that come.

Thank you Chiah for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings Form Beneath the Sheets.

So I have been a fan of Mrs. Wilder's from the beginning. In fact I have been with this series ever since it started with Hawk's book. This has been one of my go-to series. I have watched as Mrs. Wilder has developed her character's more and each story has gotten better than the last. I love each and everyone of these character's even though there are a few that I love more than other's. I was really excited when I saw that Rock was getting his own book.

Look as I just said I was excited when I saw that Rock was getting his own book. Rock is one of those character's that pops up, now and than in the other books in the series. We really haven't gotten to know him or know much about him. Well except that he likes to share his women. I really enjoyed getting to know Rock better in this book and seeing where he came from. I really felt for him and everything he had been through in his life.

Clotille..... What can I say about Clotille? I unsure if I like her or not. I really have mixed feeling's on her. I never really connected with her character throughout the whole story. Sure I mean there were times I felt for her. And there were times I even understood why she made the choices she did. But at the same time, again, I just never really connected with her character.

I have to say as excited as I was for this book, I think this is the first book in this series that I had a hard time with. Not that it was bad or anything, that's not what I'm saying. I just had a very hard time getting into it. As I just mentioned above I never really connected with Clotille's character in any way. I also never really felt a connection between Clotille and Rock. It was just kind of like they kept throwing themselves back at each other, but I never felt like they connected on a deeper level. I think to me Clotille and Rock made better friend's than they did a couple. Other than that the book really picked up towards the middle and that's when I really started getting into it!!!!!

I'm giving this book 3.5 Stars out of 5 and can't wait for the next one!!!!!

**Trigger warnings**
I have read all the books in this series and loved them all so far hands down. I love this author too. This book though I liked it and the writing is good but there was just something that set me adrift. I could not feel their compassion o. I got their lust. There was a niggling feeling for him when he was around her, only he didn’t know her and why he felt that way. We get their back story and for Rock, I felt for him. His world was turned upside down. He didn’t want to love or be involved. He wanted easy. His family was the Insurgents and Isa his sister. He has other siblings in Henri and Lille but he is closer to Isa. No one wanted him with Clotille.

Clotille and Roche “Rock” met at the park when he is going to buy ham hocks for his mother for dinner. He hears someone crying and comforts her. They share some similar things in their life. Clottile and Rock then become friends. As they grow things change and her family does not want them together. They reach high school and then they really change. Once what were friends are no longer. He is from the wrong side of the tracks so to speak and she comes from money and is a daddy’s girl. Her mother and brother did not like them speaking at all.

My heart hurt for these two and the betrayal that they went through. Both were let down and led astray by people that were supposed to love them. This book went to the very end to see what the outcome would be. This book was dark, and suspenseful. There is love, lust, lies, betrayal, and friendship. I also liked that they included their language and heritage. Waiting for the next installment in the series.

I have loved this series since the beginning and each book gets better and better. They each have more than enough suspense, love, loyalty, and hotness to keep me coming back for more. Each book is a standalone but trust me once you read one you are going to want to read them all. This one is about Rock, the Sergeant At Arms for the Insurgents MC, and he is a hard man due to his past. He doesn't trust other than his brothers and he never lets women get too close. He had his heart broken and isn't planning on allowing anyone to do that to him again. When he sees that girl again the past that he thought he buried comes rushing back.

Clotille has loved Rock for as long as she can remember and has made sacrifices for him that he will never know. When she sees Rock again she is as low as she can possibly get. While she needs his help she is afraid to tell him the truth and what that would mean for them. Rock has always been one of my favorite characters so I thrilled to read his book and I will say at first I didn't picture Clotille with him. I thought he needed a woman who had a bit more fire. However by the end I wholly on her side and thought that made a great couple.

This was another beautifully written book by Chiah Wilder and as always when I finished I found myself rereading the entire series just to get my Insurgents fix. I can't wait for the next one which I am certain will be even better than this one.

I really didn't care for this book at all. I thought the slave thing was dumb. I couldn't stand her. After everything her mother did to her she goes with that guy so her mother can live the life she is accustomed to same with her brother. She says it's also for her ###. But she had other options. Plus she is selfish for not telling him. She was waiting for him to be so in love with her then she will tell him. Also I really didn't feel any connection between them. I feel like he did care some for her but she really didn't give a crap about him. I think she would not care one bit if he cheated. I gave this book a 3 because I like the author. I'm waiting for the wedding book.

This is the eighth book in the Insurgents series, and the second one which I have read. This is about Rock who is the Sergeant-At-Arms for the MC, and Clotille, who is wealthy and spoilt. These two have loved each other for years and when they dramatically torn apart, and Rock ends up in prison, that seemed to be the end for them. But is it?? Now Rock is out of prison, Clotille is back in his life, but can he forgive her and move on? You really need to read this for yourself!
This book is full of suspense, twists & turns, lies, betrayal, hot chemistry, and love. I adore MC stories, and this one was no different. I recommend this authors work for all, and I cannot wait to read more of this author’s work.

I gave this book 4 stars!

From the start I had a hard time getting into Rocks and Clotille story. The first few chapters it was getting to know the past and present of the characters. While reading this book it was difficult to know when it was Rocks thoughts and then Clotille thoughs because it would run together. If you can get past that then you will see what these two has went through to be with each other. There a suspense, teist, turn and even a shocking outcome. I feel the characters did have chemistry from the start and but I really didn't feel any emotion with this book. Overall it was a decent MC book.

2 stars could not finish the book. I loved all the other books in this series but I'm not into BDSM. Plus the beginning of the book was so boring I wanted to put it down then.

Not one of my favorites

Rock was born in Louisiana and was from the wrong side of the tracks. Clotille was rich but her mother beat her. Rock and Clotille meet and became friends until high school. On graduation night, they have sex. When Rock gets home he finds his mom dead and his dad drunk with the knife in his hand. He almost beats him to death. Rock goes to jail and his dad is convicted of the death of his wife.
He gets out of jail and joins the Insurgents MC. They agree to do bodyguard duty for some rich guy. What he doesn't expect is it to be a BDSM party. He is shocked to find Clotille is the man's pet. He returns and takes her away but the man doesn't like to lose his toys.
A lot of secrets are uncovered that almost destroy what Rock and Clotille have started to build. Can he forgive her for her lies or will he give up on her and go back to easy women in the club.
Too much going back and forwards, with Rock loving her, not loving her, and loving her. I know he's a biker but I found him to be a little childish. But Clotille wasn't much better. She expected him to forgive her after all she'd put him through.

While this story was an utter flop for me ( uppity rich girl snubs down and dirty poor biker), I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series and have enjoyed the ride with the boys/men of the Insurgents Motorcycle Club. It appears this may not the last book, so while I look forward to the other stories that may follow, I will remember these were some quite spectacular and hard headed men. A most enjoyable story telling and done by a very creative mind. Thank you to the author for filling my nights with pure entertainment & I look forward to many more!

I really enjoyed Rock and Clotille's story, the way it went back to the beginning when their relationship started, as well as the current issues that they're facing now. It's full of action, suspense, angst, heartbreak, deceit, betrayal, and intriguing twists that you'll never see coming. This was a fantastic story, and great addition to this awesome series.

I definitely recommend this book, series, and author.

Rock's Redemption: Insurgents MC

I wasn't sure I would like this book.. Rock was not one I have liked for some reason. He kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't fond of His woman either & know she hide important things from him for 12 years really made me dislike her even more. But in the end.. I found a way to enjoy their story. I recommend all the stories in this series. I can't wait to see what happens next in the storyline.

Chiah can do no wrong when she is writing her MC Men! Rock and Clotille petty much prove my point from the beginning to end of their story! The Insurgent MC Romance Series was my introduction into MC Romance back in 2015 and I have been hooked in this genre ever since! But I have to say I am completely over the moon that Chiah Wilder continues to give more men their own books in this series to this day as I love each and every one of them...and you will too!

This book is my favorite in this series so far. Rock and Clotille have a past and their paths cross in the present, it isn’t pretty. Rock stands with his MC and Clotille has definitely changed. She doesn’t want him to know just how far she has fell. These two have a rough road ahead of them but together they can withstand anything. Awesome read.

Secrets brought to light

Rock is finally back home with his club. After all the stress from being in jail for a while he can get back to normal. Living the easy life with fast women and fast bikes Rock is moving forward. But the secrets of his past have found him and when he crosses paths with his former love he knows life will never be the same.

The drama in this book and the twists and turns are awesome. I enjoyed this book so much.

Family troubles

This story in the Insurgents MC series took me on one hell of a emotional roller coaster. I just loved Rock right from the start. He was such a mans man but with a sweet side. Clotille almost had me not liking her because of the life choices she made, but at the same time I fully understood what she had to do. Great book

Beautiful!

Why was Throttle and Kimber left out of the conversation there towards the end? And were they invited to the first party 🎉 they had at there new house? Everyone else was there. Great read and had a nice twist. I liked how it worked with the 2 main characters. I really liked the whole series. Everyone has there own issues and they had each other.

I have been hooked on the Insurgents since book 1. This was another amazing installment. I loved the past history between Rock and Clotille. I didn't particularly her circumstances she was trapped in when they were reunited. I felt the disclosure of the son was unexpected. Those were just minor drawbacks in an amazing book that made me laugh and want to scream. Cannot wait for book 9.

Loved It

This is one book that keeps you reading. There is a lot going on in the book that is surprising and action pack with mystery. Some of it is hard to understand but with a mother that would do anything to protect their own children. So I would ask anyone to read it. Please read.

Another home run

Why is it after I read each book I have another favorite Insurgent?? Rock is magnificent, both the book and the character. Normally I'm not a fan of BDSM books, but this one is different. Love triumphs once again. As we say in the south: You done good MS. Wilder.

I don't have much to say on this one. Rock and Clotille didn't do anything for me. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. I didn't like Clotille at all, she was selfish and spoiled. Rock's back and fourth drove me nuts. Again, hate the club girls. Thought the slave thing was stupid. Just didn't feel much with this one, almost felt like they didn't truly love each other with their actions. On to the next one.

Best Book in the series so far! Although, you got love Hawk and Cara just as much! I am a sucker for childhood love 🤗 & and the Cajun culture. (Which unfortunately I have never experienced either) Rock and Clotilla story starts out with young love and the twist and turns in life that bring them to the new beginning of their love story is truly worth the read.

I enjoyed this addition to this series. I loved the New Orleans scenes, history and background. Spells, gris-gris, suspense, angst and a sexy Cajun man speaking french drew me totally into the book. Loved the dysfunctional family drama on both sides. I didn't care much for Clothille but the story was still strong for me. Rich characters, great descriptions of the location and interesting historical facts about a city I love. A great second chance romance about teenage lovers who find each other again but carry so many secrets that must be hashed out before their love can be strong.

Roche AKA Rock is another bad boy Insurgent. His life takes a turn when his childhood sweetheart reappears in his life. He will fiercely protect her from all who would harm her, even her family. Just as naughty as the other books. Looking forward to more.
