Jesus, Socrates, and the Emotion in Vocation

Rate this book
In April of 2012, I submitted a variation of this paper to the Department of Theology and Philosophy at the Concordia University of Wisconsin in Mequon. A copy of the original may still be found in the library there. Since then, “Jesus, Socrates, and the Emotion in Vocation” has been shared with a few of my friends and continues to be a help to them in their personal lives. It also helps me to go back over it and meditate on where I should go in my life.

The purpose of the paper is to witness two admirable figures of history, Jesus and Socrates, who both understood that they lived for something bigger. One believed he was God while the other followed the directions of an inner spirit. They knew that they had a calling bigger than themselves. And, they lived for it. Some topics addressed are the stories of both historical figures; whether or not a gentile can have a call of God; and what part emotion plays in one’s vocation.

This is the first Kindle edition and is bound to have some bugs, I hope to update it later.
