Sometimes kids ask questions that can catch you off guard. Having a talk about the necessity and inevitability of change can be difficult. That’s why I’ve written my Changes duet, to help open up little minds to understanding the nature of change.
Meant for educational purposes, but still an enjoyable light and colorful read, Land Changes Over Time, explores how the world is reshaped around us. A self-proclaimed techie and foodie, Toi Thomas was born in Texas, but considers Virginia to be home. Growing up, Toi had a strong interest in reading fiction and loved to watch movies. Working as a Special Education Teacher's Assistant, my teacher and I had some difficulty finding material that could reach our students, without being distracting, on subjects that are already hard to grasp. So, I decided to create what we needed. This book is one of four written specifically for my students with care and compassion, and I'm proud to have been able to reach them where they were.
