Rate this book
Seraphina's life was ordered and tranquil until her niece, Georgiana, came to visit. First Miss Georgiana's canary flew over the gate and into the garden of Seraphina's long-lost fiance. Then Miss Seraphina Silk missed her weekly Ladies' Guild meeting and met instead the disturbing, mysterious Mr. Rowbotham. Next, Georgiana disappeared and Seraphina had to don the garish costume of a magician's assistant to find her. And finally, she saved her niece from the clutches of villainous white slavers and, at long last, Seraphina found her own true love!

The cover compare it to Cranford. If anything, it's more like The Grand Sophy by Georgette Heyer. Of course nothing is quite so good as Heyer but this one gets close in theme and tone. There is a visting relative, wacky hijinks, misunderstandings and a happy ending. It's set in Edwardian times, a cosy old fashioned fluffy read.
