Henry Agard Wallace was the 33rd Vice President of the United States (1941–45), the Secretary of Agriculture (1933–40), and the Secretary of Commerce (1945–46).
I find it very interesting how subtly Wallace addressed the race relation issues at home when discussing his plan. Late in the book he goes as far as to excuse the southern states for low voter turn out due to their poll taxes. I’m going to read American Dreamer at some point but my expectations have been lowered.
